Loved this 1930's home and all it had to offer. It's a great location with all of the South Dakota sights and attractions nearby. Fall leaf color was spectacular and the view from the massive living room windows did not disappoint. The kitchen is well stocked, living room cozy, and beds comfy. If planning to grill outdoors, you'll need wood or charcoal for cooking, no gas grill. Thanks Kristin for sharing this charming home.

This is in a great location for wanting to be in the forest and still close to Rapid. Will be staying here again when we need a place. We need a place that is pet friendly and this was amazing and safe for our 2 cats.

Unique place to stay

Great location, great for traveling with a pet, close to town and nice quiet location by a creek. Nice roomy place with a vintage lodge feeling.

The house was comfortable, cleaned, and perfect for our stay. We enjoyed the wildlife as well as the beautiful flowers. Our host was very responsive.

Super cute home in very accessible location!!! Loved staying here for SDMST graduation! Lots of room! Larger than I expected!!!! This was the cleanest property I’ve ever been in! Not sure how they do it!!! Setting id beautiful, creekside fishing, quie and comfortable Would definitely stay again!

This place was amazingly beautiful. Honestly the pictures don’t do it justice. We were there for our sons wedding and this house was perfect. Kristin was very responsive to any questions we had. We will be coming back!

Neat place

Perfect place for our access to rapid city and exploring the surronding areas. Unique older home we really enjoyed and had everything we needed. Great views out front to relax with. Clean. Showers are tight if you're bigger but worked just fine for us.

Serene nature hideaway

We loved its architectural charm. The large expanse of picture windows facing the creek was our favorite place to enjoy a meal, or just look for wild life. We were visited by heron, ducks, deer and many other birds. We will come again and have already recommended this wonderful property to friends. It was just perfect, and the owner wonderful to work with!

We spent 4 nights here and explored the black hills caverns, the badlands, Evans Plunge, and Rapid City. This was a very nice location, quiet and out of town, but such a short drive into town. You can walk from the house to the nearby park along the river- it's beautiful. The host was helpful and responsive. We had a great time!

This house is full of unique charm with a rich history. It is quite spacious with plenty of room for our group of 5. All the beds were very comfortable. The house is close to everything in town but is located in a private setting. And you can’t beat the view of the creek where we saw various wildlife. Kristin was very easy to work with and responded to any questions very quickly.

Black Hills/Badlands Trip

For us the location was great to visit the Black Hill sites and the Badlands or to just sit at the house in a quiet/peaceful area. It was a great mix of original and newer mid-century modern furnishings. The host was very responsive, easy to work with and always checked with us if it was OK when she needed to schedule work to be done on the house. The house is clearly loved and is gradually being updated.

Great location, great price, great host. The pictures don't do this property justice. I booked this rental for the week after sturgis so that I could take my family to Mt. Rushmore and the surrounding areas. My family wound up taking more pictures around the house and property than we did at Mt. Rushmore. The house is secluded, but it's a 5 minute drive from a convenience store and a 10 minute drive from town. When I visit the area again I will 100% book this same rental.

The house was perfect for the gathering of siblings who were all raised in Rapid. 3 who have not lived there for many years. Yet, always drawn to Rapid and the Black Hills and family. The family home was sold after our parents passed and we were looking for a comfortable place to stay and the two local sibs could visit. The fact that the house is pet friendly is the icing on the cake.The house was clean and spacious with modern conveniences but also the charm of a well maintained, well built older home. The location and grounds are so beautiful. Right next to Rapid Creek. Very quiet and a draw for wildlife, including deer, squirrels, and many kinds of birds, including a Great Blue Heron we enjoyed seeing daily. Beautiful, lush trees and foliage. Kristie is an excellent host! Welcoming, friendly and responsive. We definitely want to stay here again.
