Our family of 4 had a great time. Kyle is a wonderful host. He answered all my questions very quickly. We loved the cabin. It was very cozy.

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was the perfect size for our family. It was well stocked with all the essentials, and it was clean. It does need better serving utensils, so I did add a few to the drawer. There were areas that needed improvement, such as the porch area could be cleaned up and better screens would prevent the bugs from gettin in. It would have been nice to have a kayak or two, and also a fire pit should be added. We opted to buy one and bring it with us. We did have a plumbing issue, but the owner’s family was staying on the premises, and responded very quickly, and solved the problem. All in all, we had a fun time, the weather was perfect and we would stay here again.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback, Tracy! And for being a great guest. I truly appreciate you taking the time to share both what you loved and what could be improved. I’ve already started working on your suggestions: I’m upgrading the serving utensils and kitchen supplies, and am looking into replacing the porch screens to better keep bugs out for next season, and cleaning up the porch area to make it more enjoyable. I also plan to add a fire pit and am currently looking into kayaks for guests to enjoy on the water. As for the plumbing issue — it has been fully resolved since your stay, so that won’t be a concern going forward. I’m so glad my family was able to assist quickly while you were here. It means a lot that you’d consider staying again, and I hope your next visit is a perfect 10/10!

The Birch Cabin was clean, comfortable, well equipped (kitchen, bedding, towels & linens) and well stocked consumables. VRBO map & car navigation do not accurately lead you to the cabin as they show going to the lake and taking a right turn back away from the lake to the cabin/ hosts can provide important guidance. Boat & trailer accommodations were biggest disappointment with docking having no tie-downs or bumper pads and trailer lot up the hill at capacity. Dock otherwise offers a nice bench, fishing & peaceful lake views. A/C on listing is actually an air ventilation fan tower w/ multiple setting but no A/C. "Lake view" is accurate/ narrow view from cabin is nice -but don't confuse this as lake front. Close to Boulder Junction which is very nice town & the Heart of Vilas bike trails. All-in-all the cabin is very clean & comfortable Hosts are helpful and responsive when contacted.

Ted, thank you for the detailed feedback. This is the kind of review that actually helps us improve. A few things are already in progress. We are adding tie-downs and bumper pads at the dock, and we have corrected the A/C amenity on the listing to reflect the ventilation fan tower rather than central air. We are also writing clearer turn-by-turn directions into the listing and the pre-arrival message so the final approach is obvious before you leave the highway. Trailer parking is limited by the lot itself, which we are expanding this off season. Glad the cabin and the Boulder Junction area treated you well. Welcome back anytime.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Loved having our morning coffee on the pier watching the Eagles, loons, ducks etc.Easy drive to Boulder Junction, only 10 minutes away. Seemed everything we wanted to do and see was within 20 to 30 minutes.Smokeless fire pit was a huge hit! Spent almost every evening discussing how it worked?Overall we loved it and would stay again.

The birch is a great opportunity to experience a cabin in the woods with easy access to a private pier, a beach, and a private boat launch. Whether you were traveling with a boat or not, Forest lodge is a great place to spend a week in the Northwoods.
