Great location for traveling to Redwoods National Park. The house was very spacious, clean, and nice for our family of 5. My son and husband really enjoyed the ping pong table.

Perfect location for Redwoods hiking

We had a great experience staying at the Coastal Farmhouse. It’s so close to Prairie Creek Redwoods! We spent our first 3 days hiking various trails and basking in the beauty of the Redwoods. It’s truly breathtaking. We took the bikes to the ocean which the “kids” labeled the bone yard because of the incredible amount of washed up trees and branches there. You do need to walk over those to get to the beach/ocean. Again just amazing. Plenty of activities and games provided to play in the evenings. We bought some fire wood in town and cooked over the fire one night. Coffee on the porch every morning to watch the fog roll out and the cows graze. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking our meals. No dishwasher so we did have a lot of dish washing with 6 people eating most meals at the house. Great little Pizza truck just down the drive! Murphy’s in Trinidad was our go to grocery stop-great local store! We also really enjoyed the zoo with the elevated walkway. The staff there were so helpful and knowledgeable. We also drove up to Jedediah Smith Redwoods to hike and swim in the Smith River. Great trip with lots of memorable experiences at a great location that’s very secluded feeling.

A Coastal Gem!!

It’s amazing to be out among the farms, and the drive down the street a little ways and be at the beach! The house had all of the amenities and quality furniture and cookware. So much space so my family of 5 could spread out, but also great living space where we could hang out together. Great proximity to 101 so we could head out to see the redwoods.

Hiking the Redwoods!

Redwood Getaway

The house more than met our expectations for the trip we planned to Northern California. This place is conveniently located to everything "Redwoods" . I highly recommend this place. Lots of wildlife as well.

Redwood getaway

The house is beautiful. Lots of amenities and thoughtful touches. Very convenient to Redwood hikes and activities. Peaceful getaway. Agree with other reviews to bring some food as it is far from restaurants and groceries, but that just gave us a chance to enjoy some home cooked meals together. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent Location

The best part of this home was the location. We saw elk every day we we’re there, we took advantage of being nearby to Trillium Falls, Prairie Creek, Su-Meg State Park, False Klamath (for tide pooling), and Ladybird Johnson Trail. Not to mention the beach and a lagoon only being a 3 minute drive where we happened to see sea lions and otters! We will definitely be back again!

Great location! Cozy, cute house.

We had the best time at this adorable little coastal farmhouse. The location could not have been more perfect for our trip to Redwood National to hike the Tall Trees Trail. The proximity to the cutest little beach at the end of the street was a major benefit as well. The house is cozy as can be! Squeaky clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Great place, I only wish we could've stayed longer.

Redwood Hikes

The house is a perfect location to explore and hike Redwood National Park and Prairie Creek State Park. Major hikes all 15 minutes away or less! Bring food, no restaurants in Orick. Trinidad, which has restaurants is 30 minutes away.

Fantastic property and access to Redwood National Park

We were so happy to see how great this house was when we arrived! The property itself is gorgeous, with cows right across the street for amusement. The beach is also a 4 minute drive away. You can't help but be relaxed while you're here, and the house is decorated in such a way that is feels like home immediately! Some of the more popular Redwood National Park spots (Lady Bird Johnson, Tall Trees) are a quick 20 minute drive, and Jedediah and the northern sections are only about 75 minutes. Would highly recommend!

This place is darling!!

I will rent this place over and over again. It was perfect. Epic ping pong tournaments in the garage. Bike rides to the beach in the rain. S’mores at the fire pit. No dry fire wood here for a fire but not a problem... purchased a bundle of dry fire wood at the Orick store just down the street. Amazing views. The house is so cozy. Everything was just perfect. Rainy days the whole time we were here, but we didn’t care. Something I very much appreciated was that the fridge was absolutely spotless! Plenty of room for all the food we brought and everything we needed in the kitchen was there. The 4 bikes were awesome. One of the bikes (the blue one) had a loose chain and fell off a couple times while we were riding, but we were able to get it back on each time, so not a big problem. Love this place. Can’t wait to come back.

Charming house among cows and mountains and redwoods.

This house was absolutely wonderful. The location is like something out of a storybook. You drive by a farm to get there, and the porch has a view of the cows in the field, yet it is totally private. There are mountains around the house and we watched the clouds clear out of the redwoods as the day went by. The kids played croquet on the lawn and loved the ping pong. The house is decked out with so much wonderful furniture. There are couches and soft chairs, tables and lamp everywhere, it gives is a really comfortable homey feel. There are plenty of places to set your backpacks and hang your purse, jacket, etc. It's a really roomy house and we all felt like we had private space to rest. There is a sunroom with a super comfortable daybed that was lovely to lounge on. There are a ton of great books and games. It is right in the Redwood forest and getting to Tall Tree Grove trailhead, which we went there to hike, was convenient and a beautiful drive. The nearest grocery store is far away, so plan accordingly. We would love to stay here again and again!

Our family has enjoyed the outdoors for years. Our National and State Parks always forefront. Education always at the top of the list. Most spent camping but as I've aged, as have my now adult children, we've come to appreciate the vacation home rental. This is certainly not the first, nor will it be the last. This August 3 thru 8, 2018 we were blessed to have secured Rainbow's End for a visit to the Redwoods National and State Parks. I live in a very rural setting in Iowa. Rainbow's End was like stepping into my own home. Quiet, comfortable, peaceful and surrounded by beauty found no where else on Earth. The home is situated within short travel distances of everything the Parks offer. The sea, the forests, the National Park Service programs, Ranger led hikes and the Visitor Centers. I found myself in the mornings, early riser, in the company of wild turkey, a pair of golden eagles, the covey of quail, hummingbirds and the black tailed deer. The area is rich in history worth exploring. Culturally, you need go no further than Orick. I found the locals to be open and friendly. Not once was I made to feel unwelcome. Had coffee at the Palm early and learned much of the area from the proprietors. The local grocer, hardest working man in Orick, always engaging. And, without a doubt, the coolest little convenience store you will ever need. Just look for the 'one' gas pump. I could go on and on. But one element puts you right where you need to be and that is the home. Rainbow's End is the perfect venue to make your adventure begin. You will not make a better choice. Everyone whose efforts made my visit so memorable deserve a heartfelt 'Thank You', but a very special 'Thank You' goes to the property owners for offering such a home to others.
