Great Host, Clean and Comfortable just like Home

Great place to stay an extended period .. Host Mick was kind and gracious and made an extended work stay easy and comfortable.. Looking forward to staying at this location on our next visit to AZ!

Pleasant Stay in a Great House and a Great Neighborhood

The house was well equipped with everything that was needed. The back yard was lovely and the park across the street was very enjoyable. The location was ideal - all amenities were right there. Mick was very responsive and helpful! We look forward to our next stay at this property.

Amazing people to work with, Great Place to stay!

We were so blessed to stay at this beautiful rental. We need a place to stay in between moving houses & Mick was so nice to work with us. We loved it. We have 4 kids & the park was so nice for them to play & see the ducks. Everything was clean & accommodated all of us. The kitchen was equipped nicely so we could cook for our family. Thank you Mick for helping us & letting us enjoy your beautiful home in a beautiful location.

Very comfortable home for 4 guests. The home is supplied well with kitchen items and bed and bath towels and linens. The backyard and patio were very comfortable areas to relax on a sunny day. Located close to a school and park as well as Surpise stadium, so good walking area. Mick was very easy to correspond with during our stay.

Delightfully Decorated Surprise Home!

A perfect place to spend a winter getaway! The home owners have done a wonderful job in refurbishing and outfitting the kitchen, the bedrooms, and the main living area. Not to be overlooked are the plantings and well-conceived landscape design of the back patio, which is indicative of the TLC that is evident throughout this unique property. We enjoy the nearby excellent libraries (especially the White Tank Library) and the restaurants and grocery stores of Surprise. This property’s location (backing up to a school and a lovely city park) makes it an exceptional choice for a short or lengthy stay. Mark & Joan Ames, Iowa

Home away from Home!

We stayed a month here and felt like we were at home. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to major highways. Lots of eateries, shopping, grocery stores conveniently located, a nice park and playground a block away. Mick was great to communicate with and very flexible. His home was very well stocked, full kitchen supplies, linens, use of garage, gas grill was perfect for our steaks! We enjoyed the beautiful backyard and fed the hummingbirds! We hated to leave but will be back! It was a relaxing month!

It’s our home away from home.

Once again we enjoyed our stay at “our home” away from home. This was our fifth year and we keep coming back every year. It’s an excellent location in Surprise just minutes away from the Surprise lake, Rangers ballpark, and public library. It’s near great restaurants, grocery stores, and White Tank Mountain Regional Park. The house is neat, clean and very welcoming and The owner Mick is right there by phone to answer questions. My two daughters’ families look forward to a week of sun, relaxation, and play. While here, we take annual visits to the Wild Animal Safari Park, and Desert Botanical Gardens, and Spring Training parks. We saw three games this year.

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!

Our first experience with VRBO was super! Good site info, easy booking/payment, and a great property (and owner!) made our stay so satisfying that we will certainly use VRBO again! Mick (the house owner) was so helpful and cooperative right from the start that I knew we'd picked a winner. He gave us tips, information, friendship, and his trust! The very clean house was nicely decorated and stocked with basics; everything was as described; the master bedroom bed was comfortable with good support; the walk-in closet gave us ample storage in the mstrbdrm. What a wonderful surprise to find the home decorated for Christmas, including a small tree, when we arrived on Dec. 23rd. Very welcoming and heart-warming! It certainly added to our family's celebration! Oh, and the "welcome basket" filled with goodies was a nice gesture too. You just can't do better than renting from Mick if there are any openings!

Our Home Away from Home

My family enjoyed our stay for the fourth year in a row. There's so many things to like. The house is roomy, and very comfortable. The backyard, which is nicely landscaped, became a focal point for watching my grandkids play. It was fun to relax outside on the patio to read or watch the birds. We often walked to the nearby park so the kids could play on the playground equipment. Being a baseball fan, My wife and I watched the Rangers work out at nearby Surprise stadium. We made numerous trips to Glendale to watch the White Sox. Being its my favorite team, I collected many autographs over the years. This year we attended 3 games, including the game at Mesa between the Cubs and White Sox. It ended in a 5 to 5 tie. Another favorite were our trips to the Maricopa County Regional Parks for hiking and sightseeing, especially White Tank Mountains and Cave Creek Regional Parks. There's so much to do in the area, too numerous to mention in a short review.. Our vacation home was our base to explore the area from Sedona up north to Tucson down South. Wonderful!

I echo my son Chris' review - my husband and I were so impressed with this lovely home! It was our first experience with VRBO's and I am sold. Such a warm and friendly place to share with my children and their families; my young grandson really had fun in the yard and the parks nearby. Loved the kitchen - anything we thought we needed was in this house. Just a short drive to Sun City West to visit my mom and brother and they enjoyed visiting with us in our temporary home. Mick, the owner, communicated such easy directions to my son that our late evening arrivals got us in the door without any problems. We really liked the door lock as opposed to getting a key so all 6 of us could come and go easily. Thanks so much Mick for allowing us the opportunity to share this lovely home with our family! The Heritage House is the way to go!

My family and I had the pleasure of spending the Thanksgiving holiday at the Heritage House in Surprise, and we could not have been happier. We were out visiting my Grandmother and the last thing I wanted to do was stay in a hotel. I have stayed in many VRBO's but the idea was a foreign concept for my parents, but after staying at the Heritage House they have seen the light! The house is very inviting; from the open family room, to the large kitchen (we had 10 family members at the table) we were able to spend a lot of time together. The rooms were comfortable and they even removed a futon and put in a twin bed with a trundle to accommodate my brother and his son. The yard was quite the bonus as well. I have spent a lot of time in the area since 1981 and was expecting rocks and cactus when I arrived, boy was I wrong. The artificial grass was very nice and it provided an excellent location for my yoga practice. Being right next to a park with a playground was also an added bonus, we used it to keep my 4 year old nephew occupied; of course by "occupied" I mean that we used it to wear him out. I would absolutely, positively, without a doubt recommend this house for any travelers. There is not a single thing that the house did not have that we needed. This may even be the best VRBO I have stayed in; I just hope it is open for me the next time I need it. Thanks Mick!

Spacious home in a beautiful location near Surprise Recreation Center.

My family had a terrific month long vacation. The home was spacious, well suited and equipped for entertaining or just hanging out in the nicely landscaped backyard and patio. Mick sincerely wanted us to enjoy his home, and provided a tour of his home, explaining how everything worked from the thermostat to the ceiling fans. There was nothing we needed to buy but our food and drink. We has plenty of supplies. The location in Surprise was in walking distance to a park where I took my grandkids and not far from Surprise Lake where I fished and watched the Rangers work out in Sring Training. I even attended a couple of games. The home became our base for sight seeing so many wonderful museums, Sedona, Scottsdale, and botanical gardens. We plan to go next year too.

Beautiful Vacation Getaway

We enjoyed this beautiful home. It was so comfortable, clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed the incredible parks and ponds almost daily. We were in the middle of numerous golf courses and close to many activities, attractions and restaurants. We highly recommend The Outback. Surprise Stadium is so close and we enjoyed watching some baseball practices. The owners were awesome and so helpful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it to our friends and relatives.

Our Favorite Rental Property in Surprise (or all of Phoenix area)

We had a wonderful time at this property! The first indication that this would be a great experience was the quick response time and friendly correspondence we received from Mick, the owner. Upon arrival we were very impressed with how immaculate the house was in addition to being very warm and welcoming. There was even a basket with goodies personalized for us including area maps and attractions. The back yard was very private, pretty and relaxing. We spent a lot of time out there. We were close enough to the Surprise stadium that we walked to the spring training baseball games each day!! There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Our favorites were Mei Wei, Lilly's, New York Flavor and Fuzzys. Rosie's Italian Cafe in Sun City West is excellent (call for reservations) plus there were numerous delicious chain restaurants near by. Shopping (for anything!) is close! Our visit was great, we are already looking forward to next year!! Thanks Mick and Jan!!

A surprise in Surprise!

We were very pleased with our stay at this property. The home & yard were clean & well-maintained. It was exactly as described. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen & bathrooms were stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The owners were very helpful with questions & concerns before our arrival. We easily found all shopping, dining, & entertainment in the area. The area mountains & parks were great for hiking & seeing the desert landscape. The location was great for access to anything north of the Phoenix area; i.e., Jerome, Sedona, Flagstaff, etc. We found a couple of really great restaurants in the area: Rio Mirage (Mexican) & The Irish Wolfhound (Irish Bar & Grill) in Surprise & very near the property. And the Yardhouse (American) in Glendale, right off the 101 & well-worth the drive. This property would be our first choice if we were to return to Surprise. Thank you for a wonderful snowbird experience!!

Great Location

Two siblings and I stayed here for a visit with our parents, who are retired in Sun City West. The home is in a great location.It is a quiet neighborhood with a wonderful park for taking a walk or a jog just down the street. The home was well equiped and very compfortable. It was like a home away from home. It is just a short drive to shopping and restaraunts. We had a great stay, and would deffinately stay here again.

Youth Group retreat

Myself, another adult, and eight high school aged boys came to this Surprise home get away. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by kind neighbor that said she would be right across the street if we needed anything. We walked in and felt like we’d been there before. The home was open, and had enough space for a group our size to stay comfortably. The back yard was sweet, and had a great view of a great park, in which we spent a lot of time. Also right around the corner was this beautiful man made pond that was very tranquil and great for morning meditation time. There was plenty of convenient shopping location in any direction you chose. I’m planning on making another youth trip in the near future and will be going back to this place.

Great place to stay

Immaculately clean and charming home with tastefully furnished interior. Well maintained wooden privacy fence backyard. Easily located in a quiet neighborhood. Nearby shopping as well as nationally recognized restaurants and a sports arena. Lovely experience and would choose to stay again.

Prize in Surprise

My friend and I stayed in the home in Surprise during a weekend girls getaway. We were impressed right from the curb beginning with the well landscaped front yard. The house is beautifully decorated with all amenities that we could ask for. I stayed in the master bedroom which has a bed that gave me one of the best nights sleep in a long time, very comfortable. We fixed all of our meals but one in the home which is well stocked with the essential tools for preparing any meal. We were also able to easily find shopping (we chose Sprouts) and restaurants (we chose Pei Wei) as they had maps with points of interest printed out for guests. Most of our time was spent in the lovely backyard, enjoying the peace and quiet and beatiful weather that we were blessed with. It felt more like an isolated retreat rather than neighborhood. We also took advantage of the park that is located right behind the housing tract that has large shade trees, tennis courts and ponds with fountains and waterfalls. As a baseball fan, I would love to utilize this property again during spring training as there are several teams in the greater Phoenix area.
