Romantic Penthouse Oceanfront Condo with AC and Fabulous Views

As you walk in our beautiful condo and view the luxurious interior and the fabulous ocean view, you know that you've reached your ultimate vacation destination. There is truly no reason to leave as you sit on the lanai, sipping your coffee or drinks and view the surfers out front, the turtles below and the whales and dolphins beyond.

If you're visiting so you can work from Hawaii instead of from home, you'll have everything you need also. From high speed(400MBps) wifi/internet to a full kitchen with most of the spices, condiments, etc you will need to full size washer and dryer to nearby grocery/pharmacy/restaurants with takeout, dine in or delivery: You can work as much or little as you want. And when you need a break, just step out on the lanai and enjoy your surroundings or head down to the oceanfront pool.

Despite the relaxation and solitude, if you want sightseeing, shopping or adventure, you still have access to all that Big Island offers. Visit the volcano, stroll old town Kailua-Kona, take a parasail ride, go hiking or mountain biking, snorkeling and/or scuba, the opportunities are endless. We are centrally located and close to beautiful beaches and snorkeling areas.

Our oceanfront and beautifully remodeled condominium has everything you are looking for! Treat yourself to an oceanfront pool, master bedroom suite and lanai. Our home is gorgeously decorated with comfortable, wood laminate floors, large granite kitchen counters, and two bathrooms with travertine and tile walk in showers.

There is a master bedroom with a king-size bed and a king bed in the 2nd bedroom. Air conditioning, ceiling fans in all rooms and a full size washer and dryer are also included.

Besides the high speed WiFi access for your laptop/tablet/phone, there is a flat screen SmartTV, with Pandora, Hulu, Netflix, etc. and 200+ high definition cable channels.

Payments made through Vrbo and/or with a credit card have an additional 3.09% payment fee.

Great location! Enjoyed watching the whales, dolphins & surfers from the lanai. Also super convenient to the Ali’i restaurants & shops. Owner was very responsive as well! Would definitely stay here again!

Aloha Barb, I do understand your issue about having the sink area of one of the bathrooms have a doorway to the hall without a door. Of course the shower and toilet room are separated by a door. We have had mixed feedback. Many people like it more accessible, but some do prefer it more private. The fridge is actually less than a year old. One of the downsides of being on the ocean is that many items show age much more quickly. We work hard to maintain them and we replace them before their end of life. Many small appliances are replaced every year, TVs every 1-2 years, fridges every 4-5 years. I always welcome feedback and appreciate your insights. I will review all the appliances to see if some are ready for replacement. Aloha, Bob

Wonderful

We spent four wonderful nights in this condo. The location is great - the lanai looks out over one of the premier surfing spots in Kona, and the surfers were out every day. Bob & Ronda were very helpful - we booked at the last minute because our original plan was affected by the hurricane in the Puna District. Our teenage sons loved the pool, and we did a lot of snorkeling, sightseeing and swimming while we stayed in Kona.

Perfect location, with everything we could ever need

The unit was clean, updated, and full of everything you need on vacation. Waking up every morning to the sound of the ocean while surfers rode waves nearby was something we'll never forget. The location is super convenient, and we made many a trip across the street for drinks and snacks at the market. Of all the amazing food we had on the island, Da Poke Shack was our favorite. Maybe we are biased because it's literally right next door, but we made three trips! We mostly had the pool to ourselves and really enjoyed spending a few "happy hours" there.

The view was spectacular!!!

Well supplied kitchen. Air conditioning was broken and it was very warm in the back bedroom. Partition between master bed and living ving area was broken. The view made up for it all.

Lovely!

This is our 3rd year staying at Banyan Tree (in 3 different units) and we are more in love with this place than ever. The location is amazing- the view never gets old. We even utilized the free trolly bus to go into town- the stop is just across the street. This unit was clean, seemed much roomier and had more usable space for our family of 4- especially the kitchen. Bob was wonderful to work with and very available if we needed him. Bonus- this place had a very well stocked ‘beach supply’ closet with a cooler and chairs and snorkel gear.

Great Views of the ocean sunsets!

Unit is a little dated but has all the necessities! Communication with the owner was excellent and he was very accommodating to a last minute change to my stay dates. The housekeeping was not up to standards - dried coffee spills on the kitchen counters and a stopped up sink in one bathroom. There were some cleaning products on hand and after a 30 minute wipe down of the counters and bathrooms I was able to relax. Would return to this unit again.

Aloha and mahalo for your feedback. If you had let me know I would have taken care of any issues immediately. I apologize for the coffee spills and spoke to my cleaner. That certainly is an anomaly. I followed up with you directly on your comments about the condo being dated for more detail. I received no response. All I can say is that we are constantly updating and improving and respond to all feedback.

Location, Location and just plain Perfection!

The perfect small quiet condo complex, a few miles from Kailua-Kona. Pristine views of ocean, great pool and common areas. Covered parking easy to get in and out of garage. Secure elevator. 2 bedroom and 2 bath. We were there in March and did not need a/c. But there is 1 small unit in living space above lanai doors. Very comfortable and clean and great for 4 people. The little convenience store across the street is great!! We will be back! Thank you Bob!

The unit had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The living area looked directly out onto the water with surfers, and all sorts of water sports. We could watch the fish in the water, listen to the waves and see the boats stop to watch the spinner dolphins. We were able to cook in the well stocked kitchen and there was a washer/dryer so we didn’t need to pack so many clothes. As with any property in Hawaii it needs to have the owner’s constant attention to deterioration but thankfully it’s their problem not the renters. In all we really appreciated this property.

Kona banyan tree July 2024

Condo was in a good location and easy to access. Had all that we needed.. kept very nice. Beautiful view… fun to watch the surfers taking on those waves, while we sat on our balcony enjoying breakfast. Host was quick to respond with any questions we had. Very enjoyable week! Did have an ac unit in bedroom by balcony, which we did utilize because of allergies, and it did keep master and main area cool. Bedroom off hallway was a little stuffier but there was a fan to help pull air thru. We bring most of our ocean toys but they did have lots of items to borrow if you don’t pack your own. My only suggestion would be to add stronger lamps/lighting in bedrooms. Was a great stay and would book again!

My family absolutely enjoyed our stay and the gorgeous views of the ocean while sitting out on the patio. Communication and payment was made very easy and our host was accommodating to us and allowed an extension of our check out for half the cost to a much later time due to a late flight. Beds were very comfortable and provided a good night’s sleep each night after long days of exploring and fun. We would consider booking this location again when returning to the big island. Thank you to our host for making everything so easy and being very accessible! Just a couple things though: the front bedroom is sectioned off by sliding frosted glass doors and does not offer great privacy. Unfortunately you can see any light coming through and hear all conversations/TV. And the sink vanity located between the bathroom and washer/dryer has no door which is wide open to the kitchen dining area. Fortunately we were staying with our kids and mostly went to bed at the same time so it didn’t make privacy a huge deal. 😁

A lovely condo with a fantastic view

We've stayed in this condo around six times and will always return. The condo is well appointed and has a lovely view of the ocean from the lanai . We sit out here in the mornings drinking coffee an watching the early surfers ride the waves. We can judge how high the surf will be for our daily snorkeling excursions just down the road at Kahalu'u Beach. Our stay here is highlighted by having the bedroom facing the ocean with a sliding glass door to keep open at night for all those luscious wave sounds. We also love the pool situated in a comfortable open terrace overlooking the ocean. Sometimes you can view turtles or eels from this terrace. We highly recommend you stay here when you come to Kona. The only suggestion I would make is, if you are a TV watcher, ask that the current television and remote be replaced as the remote doesn't seem to operate on all menues and the sound range is very volatile. Mahalo for your feedback. We just recently installed new cable and I know the remote for the cable box has created some confusion for guests. The good thing is that you now have access to many more TV channels, including Showtime. There is also 100MB wifi internet access available. We will provide better instructions for the use of the remotes to minimize the confusion. We'll also replace the tv, if that becomes necessary.

Great location and very comfortable

This is a great location, and the ocean view from the living room and lanai/patio are incredible. Locals surf the waves right below the windows, so you could sit there for hours just watching them catch the waves. We had another condo unit in this same complex with family at the same time, and we preferred this lanai for coffee each morning, as this patio was slightly larger than our other condo. This unit did fell a little outdated, but still very comfortable and we had no issues at all during our stay. The owner, Bob was just a phone call away if we needed anything. There are multiple snorkeling spots within a 3-5 minute drive of this condo. The only part that had me raise an eyebrow was the amount of rules the HOA has put in place for this complex. There were 7 pages of rules posted in the elevator, you actually have to ride the elevator a few times to be able to read through everything. There's even a sign at the pool that states, "No Marco/Polo or any games to be played at the pool". Though none of the posted rules affected our trip negatively, it just felt a little uninviting or uncomfortable at times, like the board at the HOA doesn't like that owners rent out their units.
