Clinton's Hidden Secret Renovated 2BR Stonehouse, WiFi, AC, Beach Pass & more
Imagine the clinking of glasses, laughter and friendship during prohibition. This was Pierre Houpert's private distillerie with quite a history. Burned down before the feds stepped in, after almost 100 years it waited for new life whilst almost crumbling to the ground. Now new life breaths from every stone. Enjoy the views from any of the 3 porches. Take a walk on the trails across the street or just walk down to the reservoir to see the sunset or just listen to the history tell you the stories.
Recently completely renovated, the late 1800's meets the new. This incredible stonehouse now showcases the stone inside where possible, new windows in all the original window openings, porches created from the flat roofs and designing with thoughts of what might have been to include the comforts of today, all while preserving the stone structure that was in horrible disrepair. It now stands proudly as part of the Windjammer's property which overlooks the Kelseytown Reservoir.
Located in Clinton, this stonehouse is a dream. With 2 bedrooms featuring a queen bed and a full bed, along with 3 bathrooms equipped with showers, guests will have a fantastic stay. Old World Charm
Wonderful stay in a remodeled stone house. Host was great and the house is very comfortable. We really enjoyed the beautifully restored building and all the touches throughout.

We really enjoyed staying at the Stonehouse, learning about its history, and taking in the natural beauty of the surroundings. We felt completely at home and Kim, the dogs, horses, and birds were a delight. The beach pass was a great bonus because the town of Clinton requires a crazy high parking fee without it. Once you see the beautiful town beach you understand their desire to protect it from overcrowding.We appreciated the comfortable bedding, fully stocked kitchen, and having linens and towels provided. It was hard to leave!I was a little disappointed that the claw foot tub was out of order, but there were plenty of fun surprises anyway.

Very unique property that really feels like youre in a special place. The house was great - well appointed with whatever we needed & really charming. The porches throughout are great places to relax & enjoy nature - loads of birds. The property has horses & a beautiful yard - rustic & gorgeous. The only negative was the beds. Very firm mattresses & smaller than I expected, with uncomfortable pillows which made sleep a bit of a challenge. I guess for what we paid, I expected better quality beds. The rooms were adorably decorated.

Clinton renovation gem
Owner is great communicator and very helpful. The whole visit was very enjoyable. Her efforts to refurbish the stone house on her property are paying off beautifully. The house is quiet and peaceful, and the owner has nicely integrated many pieces of the original.

I have lived in Clinton on and off since 2015. It is 5 to 8 min to town, Killingworth, Rt. 80 which is parallel to Rt.1 and takes you through many towns without the traffic and beautiful drive. There are many nearby attractions and fun things to do.

This property is tucked in the woods on the Kelseytown Reservoir. The main house is circa 1724, the stonehouse late 1800s or early 1900s best we know. Main house was a hunting lodge, art colony and 1926 the stonehouse was Pieere Houpert's private distillerie! Lots of fun history here, with beauty all around.
