We had a wonderful stay! The host was very responsive, welcoming, and provided great recommendations in the area. The location was perfect…close to the beach, great food, and entertainment. The room is cute. The bathroom and shower are small, as described in the posting. It’s a great place for 1-2 people. My husband and I love Ocean Beach!

Doug was a great host. There is no better bang for your buck this close to the beach with epic views just steps away. I arrived during El Niño so the heat wave and the size of the ocean’s waves was atypical of San Diego. My reflection on the room temperatures during my visit would not be the norm. I think a box fan instead of the window would have worked a little better than the tower style fans to really pull the air from outside in without leaving the door open. I’d still do it all over again.The grill is an excellent addition to the property and the outdoor common grounds are just as lovely as they appear in the photos. All appliances in the room worked amazingly and there was an excellent selection of herbs, spices, seasoning, oil, utensils.Parking was a real BeAach for me. However, I travel with my 5 yo daughter who has the worst timing for needing to void. If you are planning on staying out after 4:00, I’d recommend spending the extra 10 and get a room with a designated parking spot in back. Also, keep in mind, San Diego is outside of your room. Get out there, explore, and make memories. Thanks again Doug, we’ll be back!

The location of this property is fantastic and was definitely the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the property itself has a lot of room for improvement.Cleanliness was our biggest concern. The fans and windows were extremely dirty—honestly, pretty gross—and in San Diego’s warm, and this particular weekend humid weather, having clean, functional airflow is especially important. The landscaping was also poorly maintained and made the property feel neglected.We also experienced a loud domestic dispute with one of the neighboring tenants around midnight, which was unsettling and certainly affected our stay.This property has a ton of potential because the location is awesome. With a much stronger focus on cleanliness, landscaping, and general property upkeep, it could be a great place to stay. Unfortunately, based on our experience, it did not live up to that potential.We knew we weren’t signing up for luxury with this place, however we expected better.
