The Sundowner is a cozy, family-friendly cabin at 5583 Chambersburg Road in Ortanna, PA. Surrounded by peaceful woodlands yet just minutes from Gettysburg, Chambersburg, orchards, and wineries, it’s the perfect spot to relax and explore. Enjoy evenings by the firepit, mornings on the porch, and all the rustic charm and comfort that make this woodland retreat feel like home.

The second floor features a full bath with tub/shower and four guest rooms, each with scenic views.

The first floor offers an open floor plan with a fully equipped kitchen, living area, full bath with standing shower, washer/dryer, and a game room. Relax in the living area with a reclining couch, rocking/reclining chair, TV, and an electric fireplace.

The game room is a favorite for all ages — equipped with a 65" TV, leather power reclining couch, poker table, shuffleboard, foosball, electronic basketball, darts, arcade games, and plenty of board games.

Step outside to soak in the fresh mountain air, roast marshmallows by the fire pit, or stroll the peaceful trail around the property.

When you’re ready to explore, you’ll find plenty of family-friendly attractions nearby:

Gettysburg National Military Park (20 min) – Historic tours, ranger talks, and the famous Cyclorama painting.
Adams County Winery (10 min) - Adams County's original winery, and the fifth-oldest operating winery in Pennsylvania.

Excellent excellent excellentKids loved game room, lots of space host has many amenities already there. Be aware due to design there really isn’t much privacy as you can hear others as the walls dont go all the way up.Small inconvenience though. Looking forward to coming back next year.

We had a great time in the area. The cabin was very comfortable aside from the game room running a bit cool. Suggest having an extra trash bin or two. The beds were great and we had a great stay. Thanks for the use of the cabin!

Fun property! The kids loved the game room and the huge kitchen island made food prep easy! The host was responsive, helpful and kind. The game room was chilly, but they're were lots of blankets and space heaters, and there were quite a few ladybugs in the master bedroom, coming in from the cold I imagine! Overall we had an awesome trip, and we would definitely stay again!

The host was very kind and quick to respond to my messages. She kept me up to date on the stove/oven needing to be replaced and was able to get a new one in before we arrived.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sundowner cabin. Even with the 100* weather, we were comfortable and had a great indoor family time. It was perfect for "recharging the batteries" !

Very beautiful cabin. Lots of room for a family of 10. The hist, Jamie was very accessible and responsive when I had a question. I recommend this property.
