Westwind #602 is an interior gulf-front 1 bedroom 1 bath condominium located on the 6th floor overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The unit is approximately 700 sq ft with views of the gulf from the living room which has a queen sofa sleeper. The entire condo has been freshly painted and redecorated in November 2023, boasting a new kitchen with granite countertops and new cabinetry with new appliances installed May of 2023. The condo has hallway bunks and a fully equipped kitchen with a washer and dryer. There is one full bath with a tub/shower combo. The master bedroom is located on the north side of the condo which has a king bed and new carpet. King, berthing bunks, sofa sleeper. Sleeps 6.

Westwind is a 9-story building with 4 units per floor located 1 mile West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Westwind has an outdoor pool and grilling area. Westwind has an outdoor pool and grilling area. The building has new exterior paint colors and new windows and sliding glass doors.

STAY AND PLAY
This rental comes with our 'Stay and Play Package', which includes complimentary tickets to the best area activities including golfing, deep sea fishing, dolphin/nature cruise, amusement park, zoo, and movie rentals. Each rental comes with our "Stay and Play package." Some restrictions apply.

*The 'Stay and Play Package' begins on the scheduled date of arrival and is not available on day of departure. Services are non-cumulative and non-transferable. All services are subject to change, subject to availability, and weather permissible. The 'Stay and Play Package' does not apply to monthly rentals.

Unit was fine

Rating Details: The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our experience started shaky and ended that way. The elevator was not working properly when we got there. We thought we'd have to carry everything up 8 flights but after about 10 minutes the doors finally opened (still wasn't sure I wanted to get in).The morning of our depwas different. The elevator didn't work at all. Made a call to GSR to report. Don't know how long it took to repair. My 70 yo husband had to make 4 trips down 8 flights of stairs with our things and back up. Not good! Other than that the unit itself was clean & sufficient. Location was great. Love GSR's Stay & Play package.

Nice view but needs updating

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo is very old and needs updating. Water was leaking from above the stove and in the ceiling. The sheets were rough and mattress was not ideal. Lots of noise during the night and light shining into the bedroom from the hallway. Pretty view of the beach and very convenient to get to the ocean.

Great for families

It was as advertised. It wasn’t opulent and overly luxurious but it fit the needs of a family with two younger kids and everyone had a great time.

Bare Minimum

Not the best. Be prepared to find somewhere else to park, got only one parking pass for six people. Also plan on bringing extra toilet paper, towels and other supplies which would normally be provided. Don’t think one roll is enough for six people over four days. Overall not a terrible property but very inconvenient in terms of parking and having to worry about basic amenities. Would not recommend

Happy to Leave

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For the cost of this rental, there are much better options available. The unit, although fairly clean with a nice view, was very dated and could use upgrades and repairs to the bedroom window (uninsulated + cracked window pane), appliances (old stove, rusted/dirty refrigerator), and bathroom (tub fixtures are old, doesn’t drain + loud dripping noise that doesn’t subside). In addition, there are baseboards/walls that need repair and the walls are extremely thin. I heard my neighbor snoring as if he were in the same room, along with entire conversations. All-in-all, the 4 days in this unit did not meet my expectations and I would steer clear of staying here again.

It is conveniently located in the heart of Gulf Shores, while still being far enough away from the hustle and bustle to avoid heavy traffic and beach crowds. The condo was very clean and well-maintained throughout. It has been updated and looks very modern, while still having that cozy beach house feel. I highly recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay in Gulf Shores any time of the year!

Bedroom is quiet and away from beach. Kitchen is adequate although the stove is long in the tooth and a tad cantankerous. We had a problem with the TV but it was handled quickly by the rental company. Overall rating: EXCELLENT

Not What We Expected

It is the little things that make a place special. The whole place needs to be painted, new trim, appliances that aren't rusted or peeling. No painted boards to hold towel racks. The light in the bedroom at night was so bright from hall and green light it was hard to get to sleep. The third night the people who checked in above us kept us up most of the night with what sounded like furniture being moved and drawers or closets being opened constantly. This means the building is poorly constructed to hear all that noise. The pool was filthy and unswimable. The bed was comfortable and view was amazing, but the rest of the issues caused us to leave early.

Perfect location and very clean

Easy to check in and check out. I was very pleased with the property and didn’t have any issues. It was very clean. All furnishings were nice and the bed was comfortable. Balcony was my favorite spot when I wasn’t on the beach.

Great visit

We had a great stay. Always great to be on the beach! Had a few minor issues in the unit (light bulb out, no working exhaust fan in the bathroom). Also no pizza pan or cutter and one sharp knife in the place. Otherwise - fantastic view!!

Her senior year was such a bummer, I'm so happy we had the opportunity to stay in this unit and celebrate her accomplishments.The unit was the perfect size and the location was superior. Just down and out the doors and a few steps and you are on the beach.Room stayed cool air unit worked great and the balcony view was wonderful. I had breakfast there every morning.My kids have already suggested we return here next summer.Looking forward to our next adventure.
