This rental is situated on a peaceful, Lancaster County family farm tucked away from the noise and busyness of everyday life. You would be staying in a newly remodeled two-story "summerhouse" that includes modern conveniences without losing the character of the 18th century charm. It is a private home that includes a king bedroom, full bath and loft area on the second floor; a queen bedroom and half-bath on the first floor along with a living/eat-in kitchen area. The summerhouse is located next to the farm house.

You decide how you want to spend your day - "Rest, Relax, Renew". Enjoy fishing in the pond (catch and release, bring your own supplies) while heifers, sheep and goats graze nearby or take a walk down the long farm lane. Relax on the side porch, sip your tea or coffee while overlooking the countryside. Many other amenities listed below.

One adult must be over the age of 25.

Local attractions include Hershey Park, Lancaster County Amish Country, Sight & Sound, Mt. Gretna, Gettysburg, Spooky Nook Sports Complex, bike trails along the Conewago Trail, and much more. Minutes from grocery stores, parks, medical facility and Elizabethtown College. Convenient to Airport and minutes from several unique wedding venues including Ironstone Ranch, Harvest View Barn and Moonstone Manor.

Good choice for kids

Nice quiet place with ample outdoor space. Was a great choice for my family of 4 while spending a long weekend at Hersheypark, which is ~20 minutes away.

Very Comfortable

The cottage is beautiful and has a neat little story with it. It is very comfortable and felt like home to us. We came to visit from Florida and there is a hurricane coming directly towards our home. Mim was very caring and offered us more time if we needed it. We were able to do all our laundry

Stay at beautiful farm house

My kids and their friends had a great stay at this beautiful and historic farm house during our visit to Hersheypark. It was great to have a quiet place to relax after the excitement at the park. We would highly recommend this house to others.

Sisters getaway

Love the summer house we stayed in, it was peaceful and a joy to sit on the back porch, watch the cows in the field and just in enjoy the quiet. The house was charming and the perfect size to have a quick weekend away.

Wonderful Stay - Great Property

The cottage was perfect for our family of five. We were in town for a few days to visit Hershey Park. Our children loved fishing in the large pond and seeing the animals. The property is beautiful and very relaxing. Thank you Mim and Clair for a great visit to Pennsylvania! Clair

Fantastic stay- close to Hershey Park

This house was perfect! Exceptionally clean and close to Hershey Park. Great for families and those traveling with kids. There were multiple sleeping options and very comfortable beds. We loved the uniqueness and history of the house! We definitely would stay here again.

Relaxing Family Retreat

The cottage was absolutely perfect for our 2 night stay in the Hershey area. We needed a clean and comfortable place to sleep and a nice setting to rest and recharge between activities. This home delivered both. The farm is beautiful and the owners were extremely warm and helpful. We will definitely return!

Hershey Vacation

Great little cottage for our family vacation. Cottage was very cool. It was full of character and charm. We really enjoyed our stay. Definitely a must stay when you're visiting Hershey. We also visited Gettysburg which was an hour away. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Can’t wait to go back!

This was our second time staying at this beautiful cottage and we can’t wait to go back again next year. The location is peaceful, the cottage is clean and very comfy, and it’s near many great restaurants and only a short drive (15-20 min) to Hershey Park. If you’re looking for a unique place to stay, I highly recommend this cottage!

Felt right at home

We loved our stay here! It was centrally located between Hershey and Lancaster. The home was super clean and we loved sitting on the little back porch watching all of the farm animals! A quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle! We would absolutely stay here again!

A Wonderful Get Away

My family and I enjoyed two nights at this lovely cottage. The photos really don't show just how beautiful this home and property are. There are many modern and well done updates throughout as well as a gentle balance of country charm such as furnishings, textures, color schemes. The kitchen is fully stocked but take care as there is not a garbage disposal. We had a peaceful walk along the gravel farm road and enjoyed watching the sheep, cows, then fireflies in the evening. Mim and Clair were kind and friendly. They have a wonderful home and farm cottage to share! My family bragged all the way home!

Wonderful Stay in Lancaster County

Our stay at was perfect from start to finish. The directions provided by the host were very helpful, the space was pristine, and plenty large enough for our family of 5 with 3 young kids. We loved how it blended both history and modern amenities! We really enjoyed walking down the farm lane and admiring the animals and landscape in the mornings and evenings. While close to the main house, we had plenty of privacy, and felt comfortable sitting on our own back porch, sipping coffee or wine, and chasing fireflies around the lawn. We briefly met both Clair and Mim and loved hearing about the family homestead! Meeting new people is the best part of traveling. We used their home as a jumping off point for both Hershey Park (20 min) and the Strasburg/Ronk/Bird-in-Hand areas (30-35 min) where we enjoyed Amish baked goods, the Strasburg railroad, some delicious homemade ice cream, and beautiful roadside cut flowers. Clair & Mim left a great printed guide in the home with local recommendations and we really appreciated it. As a military family who is always driving to move or to visit faraway family and friends, I’m constantly looking for peace and comfort for our stops along the way and they provided just that. This home is a unique and wonderful find and it would be a mistake to pass it up!

An adorable farmhouse getaway

My family of 5 was in the Hershey area for a lacrosse tournament and wanted to stay off the beaten path a bit. The summerhouse delivered! We really enjoyed our stay and the hosts were wonderful, even lending us a beach tent and some chairs for a very hot day of lacrosse. The drive into Hershey was a convenient 15-20 minutes, and we loved all that Hershey had to offer.

Location was great but…

The house had an odd smell to it , and I do know it’s an old farm house. My allergies went crazy in the house. The second floor master bedroom bed was a bit soft for the person sleeping in it and It smelled like the bedding was left wet in the washer too long. Our WiFi only worked the first day. Very little the second and the morning of the third, so the kids tablets didn’t work for them at all. The washer smelled a bit skunky. As for the owner of the place, she was very nice and genuine. My kid loved the animals.

Mim, Clair and their granddaughter Clair were very friendly and welcoming. The cottage was exquisite, old world charm with modern conveniences. It brought back memories and the comforts of our home we had in Michigan.

Peace and Quiet!

We just returned from our stay at the cottage. Our family of 4 enjoyed a long weekend at Hershey Park. it was wonderful to return to a quiet sanctuary after a hot, busy day at the park. The location and farm are beautiful and even though Mim and Clair are close by we never felt like we did not have privacy. The house was very clean, comfortable, and well stocked. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We enjoyed seeing the animal friends on the farm and it just added to the overall charm of the stay. We would certainly stay here again in the future!

Perfect!

Mim & Clair were wonderful hosts with a beautiful property. It was perfect for our group (mom and daughter trip)! The location is a short drive to many of our planned destinations. The property is well-maintained with pride in the family's history and homestead that was evident in all the intricate touches. The animals and pond were great to enjoy along with the springtime weather. Mim & Clair were extremely accomodating and generous! We are already hoping to book for future trips to the area.

Lovely stay on peaceful farm

We had a great stay over the Easter weekend. The cottage is about 20 min from Hershey Park which is where the kids wanted to visit - they loved making their own chocolate and all the rides in the amusement park. The cottage provided a calm and peaceful stay. There are two bedrooms sleeping 4 people, and the other two beds are on the landing near the main bedroom - most suited for kids. We had a lovely stay, thank you for the hospitality.

Great Little Getaway and We Will Be Back

Mim and Clair's summerhouse cottage was more than expected. The farm setting in Lancaster County offers unique place to relax and unwind. Both Mim and Clair were great hosts and were very proud of the property and its family heritage. One concern I had originally was the proximity to the main house, but it was not an issue at all. While Mim and Clair were there to answer any questions about the property or local areas of interest, we felt right at home and had our privacy. I would certainly recommend this property, especially to families of Elizabethtown College students, if you needed to spend some time in the area. We will most certainly be back.

We were high school sweethearts and married soon after graduation. We have enjoyed living on the farm ever since and it was a great place to raise our 3 children, all of whom are now married.

The farm's lineage has been traced to a deed signed in 1750 and we're passionate about the family farm as an integral part of the fabric of our nation. We really see ourselves as stewards. We have such a connection to the farmland, and that in turn translates into a God connection. We value where the land came from. There's no more being created, and it as a treasure. We have a responsibility to it.

As a family-owned and operated business, the Miller Homestead, up until 2012, was a dairy farm. We grow corn, hay, soybeans and barley.

We enjoy traveling and have often stayed in vacation rentals in out of the way places.

The Miller Homestead is located within easy highway access to Lancaster, York, Harrisburg or Philadelphia, providing many options for day trips.
