Cottage Living on Peaceful Lancaster Co. Farm

This rental is situated on a peaceful, Lancaster County family farm tucked away from the noise and busyness of everyday life. You would be staying in a newly remodeled two-story "summerhouse" that includes modern conveniences without losing the character of the 18th century charm. It is a private home that includes a king bedroom, full bath and loft area on the second floor; a queen bedroom and half-bath on the first floor along with a living/eat-in kitchen area. The summerhouse is located next to the farm house.

You decide how you want to spend your day - "Rest, Relax, Renew". Enjoy fishing in the pond (catch and release, bring your own supplies) while heifers, sheep and goats graze nearby or take a walk down the long farm lane. Relax on the side porch, sip your tea or coffee while overlooking the countryside. Many other amenities listed below.

One adult must be over the age of 25.

Local attractions include Hershey Park, Lancaster County Amish Country, Sight & Sound, Mt. Gretna, Gettysburg, Spooky Nook Sports Complex, bike trails along the Conewago Trail, and much more. Minutes from grocery stores, parks, medical facility and Elizabethtown College. Convenient to Airport and minutes from several unique wedding venues including Ironstone Ranch, Harvest View Barn and Moonstone Manor.

Clair and Mim were great hosts! The check-in process was really easy and the property was as listed. Inside it was clean and there were several games, books, and toys that our daughter loved playing with (especially in the upstairs nook area). Hershey Park was close by, which made it convenient to go back and forth. Overall, it was a great stay and we'd stay again if in the area.

Not just a cottage rental but a magical farm experience!!! Reminded me of growing up in my grandparents old farmhouse. Fireflies, sheep, cows, pond and a secret play room for the 5 year old!. So honored to learn about their family history and legacy. Very relaxing!!!

This is the best VRBO we have ever stayed at! The attention to detail was impeccable and the hospitality was beyond what could ever have been asked for. The Miller family is hard working and honest…a model for our son to witness. The story associated with the property is amazing as well. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Summer Getaway

Our time at the Lancaster County family farm summerhouse was idyllic. The home has all the modern conveniences necessary for a most comfortable stay yet it has such strong character with it's having retained it's 18th century charm. My family and I loved seeing the farm animals and we greatly enjoyed walking alongside the tall rows of corn. The hosts are extremely friendly, they are easy to talk with, they are very warm and gracious people and they are incredibly welcoming. My family and I were enchanted by the peacefulness and beauty of the property. The house was plenty big for our needs and it was clean, cozy and very nicely appointed. We look forward to a return stay as we are back in the area. Thanks so much, Clair and Mim, for making our Elizabethtown vacation so positively memorable.

Stay at beautiful farm house

My kids and their friends had a great stay at this beautiful and historic farm house during our visit to Hersheypark. It was great to have a quiet place to relax after the excitement at the park. We would highly recommend this house to others.

Sisters getaway

Love the summer house we stayed in, it was peaceful and a joy to sit on the back porch, watch the cows in the field and just in enjoy the quiet. The house was charming and the perfect size to have a quick weekend away.

Can’t wait to go back!

This was our second time staying at this beautiful cottage and we can’t wait to go back again next year. The location is peaceful, the cottage is clean and very comfy, and it’s near many great restaurants and only a short drive (15-20 min) to Hershey Park. If you’re looking for a unique place to stay, I highly recommend this cottage!

Hershey Vacation

Great little cottage for our family vacation. Cottage was very cool. It was full of character and charm. We really enjoyed our stay. Definitely a must stay when you're visiting Hershey. We also visited Gettysburg which was an hour away. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Felt right at home

We loved our stay here! It was centrally located between Hershey and Lancaster. The home was super clean and we loved sitting on the little back porch watching all of the farm animals! A quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle! We would absolutely stay here again!

Wonderful Stay - Great Property

The cottage was perfect for our family of five. We were in town for a few days to visit Hershey Park. Our children loved fishing in the large pond and seeing the animals. The property is beautiful and very relaxing. Thank you Mim and Clair for a great visit to Pennsylvania! Clair

Lovely, relaxing stay!

Beautiful, clean, comfortable, and so relaxing. My family and I felt right at home, and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Clair and Mim are gracious hosts. We could not have asked for better accommodations on our trip!

Great Stay at the Farm

We picked this place due to its close proximity to Hershey. Everything was in great condition and very clean. Nice that our grandkids could experience the farm animals, too. Would highly recommend.

Wonderfully charming cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. We had plenty of space to spread out but still felt cozy and comfortable. We loved seeing the farm animals every day and fields full of fire flies at night. Mom and Clair were very gracious hosts. We can’t wait to come back!

We were high school sweethearts and married soon after graduation. We have enjoyed living on the farm ever since and it was a great place to raise our 3 children, all of whom are now married.

The farm's lineage has been traced to a deed signed in 1750 and we're passionate about the family farm as an integral part of the fabric of our nation. We really see ourselves as stewards. We have such a connection to the farmland, and that in turn translates into a God connection. We value where the land came from. There's no more being created, and it as a treasure. We have a responsibility to it.

As a family-owned and operated business, the Miller Homestead, up until 2012, was a dairy farm. We grow corn, hay, soybeans and barley.

We enjoy traveling and have often stayed in vacation rentals in out of the way places.

The Miller Homestead is located within easy highway access to Lancaster, York, Harrisburg or Philadelphia, providing many options for day trips.

The farm is in a quiet location yet easy access to stores and attractions. We are situated close to bicycle and walking trails. The farm pond is available for "catch and release" fishing. A tranquil one mile long farm lane lends itself to taking off-road walks.
