Perfect for our girls’ weekend getaway!

The house was as described in the online listing and more. There was plenty of space for our group of 5 adult family members. There are wonderful ocean views from both inside on the lower level and from the awesome second floor deck. It was clean and well-stocked. One could not ask for a better location, nor a more helpful and accommodating host.

What was Needed

3 old friends from grammar school getting ready for our 50th HS reunion couldn’t have enjoyed a better place. Warm cozy home, with all you need! A perfect deck to eat and enjoy the sunsets, beautiful views all day long. Thank you so much!

House was just perfect

Lovely Home, Amazing Location!

We stayed at Maureen’s place with 6 adults and 3 kids and the space was great. You cannot beat the view, the balcony is amazing. Plenty of kitchen utensils, all around great stay.

Family Time on the Coast

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with our kids and grandkids at this property which had enough room for us, a spectacular view and was conveniently located near many local attractions. (The cleaning fee seemed a little high given that we tried to leave the house as clean as it was when we arrived, but maybe the charge is typical.) We would definitely recommend to others!

Amazing deck and view

The view from the second floor deck is spectacular. The house was well stocked and cozy. Very conveniently located to stores and local eateries. Really enjoyed the experience and the location can't beat.

This property was so cute! It was fully stocked with everything you would possibly need! Beautiful balcony view of the ocean. We watched a whale for hours off the balcony. The photos are just as it looks.

Annual Family Fun Time

This is my 6th stay at this lovely and well maintained home. Fabulous view from living room and deck are so enticing you never have to dip your toes in the sand. Sleeping accommodations are perfect for my family. My grandchildren refer to it as their beach house and ask all year long when we get to return.

The house was quaint and charming. Nothing could beat the view.

We had four adults and three chhildren and all enjoyed their stay at the house. The accommodations were dated, but more than adequate. The highlight was the view from the balcony. We spent most of our time while at the house up there watching dolphins.

Amazing house overlooking the ocean!

We loved staying at this beautiful home, with incredible views of the ocean. There were 10 of us and we all felt the house was very spacious, clean and the perfect home for all of us. The whole rental experience was seamless and very easy. We will definitely rent again! Thank you so much Maureen!

Cleaning fee

Communication with the owner was great. She responds quickly. However, the cleaning fee was a bit much. Some of the sheets have an odor where we had to wash it before using it.

Best Thanksgiving ever!

Words really can’t describe how great this location is. Located right in front of the ocean, and a block from Sea Cliff Beach. This home accommodated my families Thanksgiving celebration. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to cook. Thank you to Mother Nature, the weather was absolutely beautiful, which just made this trip over the top. Thank you Maureen for opening up your family home to us. We will never forget this Thanksgiving.

Missing it already

My friends and I stayed at this beach house this past weekend and had a wonderful time. The pictures don't do it justice. It was spacious enough for 10 of us. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large, and the patio upstairs was a great place for us all to relax and hang out. The views are unobstructed and spectacular. The location is fantastic - close to Seacliff Beach, Marianne's Ice Cream, stores, Santa Cruz and Monterey. We hope to come back again next year.

Clean, comfortable and an awesome view!

Had a great spring break at the Morris House. Clean, comfortable and has all the necessities. Loved sleeping with the windows open to hear the ocean... electric blankets were a nice extra! We are hoping to get back again soon. A nice change from the busy Santa Cruz/Capitola area. Lots of things to do in the area. We had 4 adults and 6 kids total and we were more than comfortable. BTW... the home is nicer than the pictures.

Wonderful stay!

We had family visit CA for the 1st time and decided to stay here. We had 11 people in our party and we were all very comfortable. We had 3 families and each family took a bedroom. It worked out perfectly. The beds are very comfortable and everything is very clean. We also spotted a whale from the deck, which was incredible! The walk to the beach stairs isn't bad at all and the stairs were good exercise. Marianne's delicious ice cream is also within walking distance. Overall, a great experience. I hope we can find an excuse to come back again!

Million Dollar View!

Great place for a quite get away! We were a little early in the season. So, it was still a little cool but the view was spectacular and the sand was warm on the feet. Loved walking the beach, playing in the sand and flying a kite with my 3 year old grandson! Maureen was great when I sent her a message that the trash cans were full from the previous tenants and were not going to picked up for a few more days she brought us over 2 more trash cans. Couldn’t ask for better service than that. The place was clean and well stocked with housewares. We would definitely stay there again,

Our Annual Family Get-a-Way Stay

What a wonderful property Maureen has. The view is spectacular! The 3 bedrooms are large and sleeping arrangements can vary with trundle day beds, king and queen size beds so the house can accommodate multiple families. 2 bathrooms are right across the hall from the upstairs bedrooms. The downstairs bath also has a w/d. The decor is lovely - casual and beachy. I have rented many properties - domestic and international through VRBO and this is one of the best cared for I have rented. It is a short walk to the beach, restaurants and ice cream shop. Myself, 2 adult children and grandchildren stayed for our annual beach trip and we will be back. Thank you for providing such a remarkable property.

Up Close & Oceanfront!

Girlz getaway #30 and counting! We've stayed in a few different houses in Santa Cruz area over our 30+ years of friendship, but this one DEFINITELY had the best view! Perfect size vacay home for 6-8 people comfortably(seating in the front room is limited) and very clean! Ample parking, beds were comfortable, plenty of bathrooms, smaller kitchen(but workable!) When we had a problem with cable working(Warriors were on!), Maureen the owner was QUICKLY there to assist! Very friendly and we thought she would have been fun to hang with as well! The upstairs balcony deck is awesome for cocktails/appies and a view that won't quit! No direct beach access across street so do your hw if you have kids that need access. Right above Seacliff State Park. Loved our stay so much! Went for hike in Forest of Nisene Marks State Park(had a ranger offer us personal tour guide!), went out to Severino's Bar & Grill for dinner and live music(don't get me started on the hilarity that ensued there!), had some Marianne's Ice Cream in Aptos, ventured out to Moss Landing and watched Wine Country on Netflix! Couldn't have gone better!

Perfectly located beach house in Aptos

We spent the three day Easter weekend at the beach house and had Easter brunch on the large deck overlooking the ocean. The house is extremely well maintained and was very clean. All three bedrooms are very large, the upstairs two bedrooms open on to a large deck that overlooks a quiet street and then it's all unobstructed ocean views! We slept with the windows open and listened to the waves as we fell asleep. There are 2 full size baths upstairs and a half bath downstairs. The kitchen was beautifully updated and well stocked, we cooked breakfast and dinner in each day. There is lots of parking, room for 5 cars easily. The living room area is a bit small, but we spent most of our time upstairs on the deck or walking on the beach. (There is a short path through a field that takes you directly to the stairs down to Seacliff Beach.) We walked over to Marianne's ice creams two evenings in a row, their ice cream is amazing - it's just so hard to decide what flavor to get! We went into Santa Cruz for lunch and had clam chowder on the wharf, my parents drove down to Mossdale for sea otter and bird watching and the rest of us spent a lot of time on the beach. It's so nice not to have to drive anywhere. The owner always replied promptly to emails and was very easy to work with. We are looking forward to returning to this peaceful and charming home.

Favorite Place to stay - 3rd time staying here

This was our third year staying here and we absolutely love this place. We usually spend most of our time at the beach or on the upstairs deck. The downstairs common area is not huge, but has nice furniture, a HDTV, and a very nice kitchen with newer appliances and table that can fit 6-8 people comfortably. We brought an IPAD with an HDMI cord to plug into the TV for the kids to watch Netflix this year and it worked great. The Internet is extremely fast and has no problem streamline movies on our devices. We spend most of our mornings on the balcony looking out at the breathtaking views. About 10:00 a.m. we usually head down to the beach with our kids using the "secret" path through the forest on the Eastside of Seacliff drive. The path is a bit steep in places, but even our 3 year old can walk by herself down to the beach. Upon arrival to the beach, I usually grab a mocha at the "Beach Bean" coffee shop and maybe even grab a very good breakfast burrito at the Pixie Deli. We then head over to play in the sand and jump through the waves with the boogie boards (There are a couple at the house that you can borrow). After beach time we head back to the house and are able to wash off with the outdoor hot water shower. I cannot say how much we love this place. We have stayed in several places, but this house is our favorite. I want to comment that we like the level of quality of linens, toiletry and interior kitchenware and cookware because it is not the same quality that you would find at a Five Star type Ritz Carlton hotel. Whenever we stay at other VRBO's that have "Five Star" type linens and kitchenware we are scared to death that one of us or our kids is going to break something and we will have to pay an arm and a leg to have it replaced. We are not afraid to use the kitchenware and have not seen any kitchenware that has been chipped over the past three stays that we have had. Also, there are always plenty of glasses, cups, mugs, plastic cups for the kids for our party of six adults and five kids. Maureen is so great and responds via text messages making it very easy to communicate with. I have to admit that part of me doesn't want people to find out about this wonderful house because the price will end up going up and our family might not be able to afford it in the future, but I want to be fair and provide the great review that it deserves. We hope to stay here for years to come.

Because our extended family enjoyed the beach so much, our grandparents purchased the house. Our uncle built a house on the street behind the house and a cousin lived in another house on that street so we always had lots of people together. With the peaceful sound of the ocean and the gorgeous view from the deck, living room, upstairs bedrooms we have always appreciated this special place. Regardless of the weather, this home will leave you relaxed and rejuvenated. The beach and area provide the opportunity to take in the outdoors and enjoy the ocean.
