Place was great, only think one of the bedrooms had trundle bed but it was advertised as two twin beds, not a big deal

A fine place

So nice to be right on the beach! Also, plenty comfortable enough, especially for the price. We've rented this property many times, and likely will again.

Cute place

Place was cute with old charm. Nice view of the ocean. The private walkway wasn’t very well maintained so it was hard to find, especially during evening beach walks. Good WiFi, nice beds, had nice toiletries provided.

Hi Kait. Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed the charm of the home, the ocean view, and the comfortable beds. It is great to hear the WiFi worked well and that you appreciated the toiletries provided. We appreciate your feedback about the private walkway and will pass that along so we can improve visibility and maintenance. We hope to welcome you back for another relaxing stay.

Best porch on the beach

If you want a reasonably priced place to sit and watch the ocean all day, this is it. The house is cozy and clean but old. Don't expect stainless and granite. Just go outside and enjoy the nonstop ocean breeze 😎

We've stayed at Holden many times and would rent this place again. Definitely older with a rustic beach cottage feel. Bathrooms are a little small but common area and deck are spacious. Kitchen was well stocked. Location was perfect. The only suggestion would be box fans or pedestal fans for the bedrooms. Previous reviews mentioned bugs but that seems to be resolved - we saw none at all.

Nice size house but could use updates. Cockroaches inside and outside of the house. Not a big pot and pan selection.

This is an older property, that is somewhat outdated. There are things that should be repaired or replaced. Bedrooms are smallish, but the living/dining area is spacious. The location is great, close to the bridge to the island so no long ride to get to things. The dunes are not wide here so it is not a long walk out to the beach. There is a public access beside the house, but no real public parking nearby, so not a lot of people used it.

This home was everything & more than we expected. The views are amazing & the location is awesome. We had no problems with this house during our stay. The washer/dryer & hot water heater all appeared to be relatively new. The home was clean & very spacious. 2 of the 4 bedrooms have their own private doorways to the deck. We had a great time in a great house. Look forward to staying there again in the future. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Nice!

Don’t let the paneling scare you~it’s rustic and May have been one of the first houses on HB~ there is a picture hanging in the kitchen that leads me to think this. . Absolutely perfect for beach days, porch hangs, pelican viewing. Ample space for two BFFs and four 15 year olds! One of the girls says that in 10 years she will bring her family to THIS exact house. 💗 I hope yo be back sooner!

A Money Maker, that's all.

I love the feel and layout of the older beach home. This has the potential to be an amazing place to stay. However, there has been so little upkeep, that it is no longer comfortable to be there for a whole week. If I ever find that the owners have put some money into the home to bring it up-to-date, then I would surely rent it again. I am guessing that they never lay eyes on it, because I'm fairly certain if they did, even they would be hesitant about staying there. I would say, you get what you pay for, but after three years renting there and much investigation after this past stay, I'm afraid, it is not even worth the low weekly rental price.

Thank you for your review, Debra. We're sorry to hear that your most recent stay didn’t meet your expectations. We understand your concerns and appreciate your perspective, especially as a returning guest. We’d like to share that the owners have put resources into the home, and it remains a cherished family property dating back to 1977. They and their family continue to stay there and are actively involved in its upkeep. That said, we know there is always room for improvement and are confident the owners will keep working to make the home as enjoyable for guests as it is for their own family. Thank you again for your continued support and feedback.
