Weekend getaway

The house was perfect for our group of 7. Yes, the area is a little sketchy but we had no issues, neighbors were nice. We were out and about most of the time and the house was a good match for us. Easy on & off the freeway.

I love the house i love she had everything we need i got my own cleaning stuff thinking we needed but no she had all the stuff you need we slep well the house is so big everyone had they own space i will be renting it again the host was great she was so welcomeing i will never forget it

Great stay

We had a wonderful stay. The home was everything we had wanted and was comfortable for our needs. The neighborhood was close to everything we wanted. Our only issues were dirty towels left in the bathroom and not being able to read the wifi password in either of the 2 locations it was left in the home. We made a game out of it trying to guess the illegible letters but unfortunately, we never figured it out.

Great Affordable Stay!

The location of this property was absolutely perfect! We are a family of 7 just getting away for a last minute birthday getaway for the 5 year old. We were so close to everything we needed and the places we planned on visiting. The host was very prompt with replies. The house has SO much charm to it. If you’re picky about blankets and pillows, then I highly recommend bringing your own along.

9/10, would stay again

Our group of 5 stayed for 4 days in March. This property met all of the basic expectations of a good stay: clean beds, fresh towels, plenty of toilet paper. Beyond that:The good:- Hot water was great- House heat was plentiful and quick. - Wifi password was clearly identified on the router (not sure if that is new based on earlier reviews, but it was a non-issue for us)- Roku TV worked perfectly- Kitchen was updated; we only used the fridge, microwave, and Keurig, but everything in the kitchen looked fine- 3 different living areas to spread out in (along with 4 bedrooms)The bad:NothingThe meh:- parts of the house (kitchen) were updated, but other parts (doors, walls) were old (peeling paint). Nothing unclean or dirty, just unsightly- Neighborhood was fine, nothing unsafe, but some neighbors liked to talk on their phones outside the house very early in the morningOverall: pretty bare bones furnishings but met every need and would stay again for the . Great value for cost.

Great stay for the price!

The house is quite spacious and built so well that if you have a full house, you won't hear everyone if you need to get away and hang out in a separate room. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and pans, the lot is well taken care of, and the place was very clean. The owner was very nice and even tried to introduce herself, though we missed each other. One of the beds is quite a bit firmer than the rest and I think that would be my biggest complaint for the duration of our stay. Would definitely rent here again in the future.

Like a home away from home!

From my first contact with Maya, she was absolutely amazing. She responded promptly and answered all inquiries. Upon my arrival shs greeted me and had me walk through to ensure everything was in order. She gave me and my family the privacy needed yet she checked in via text just to make sure we didn't need anything. The property was top notch! It was very spacious, stocked with more than needed. The kitchen was fully functional with everything required to prepare and serve a family dinner. I highly recommend Maya's home and have already inquired about rebooking for a future trip.

Roomy older home close to downtown attractions

Our group had 8 people and we appreciated the large living room area and seating. There are 4 folding chairs to supplement the 4 dining chairs, although the table is small. There are 2 bedrooms up and 2 down. We put a queen air mattress and sheets (found in a closet) in a large room next to an upstairs bedroom for a 5th sleeping space. We had 3 cars but had no trouble finding street parking in front of the house.

Overbooked???

As I was driving across the country to surprise my Dad on Father’s Day, I receive an email at one of our pit stops. The email says Vrbo reservation was cancelled by the owner. I received a follow up email stating that they overbooked. Very unprofessional in today’s technological era for this to be possible. This left me stranded, scrambling for accommodations on Father’s Day weekend (the day before Father’s Day) with my wife and two kids worrying where we’ll sleep. Just ridiculous. On top of the large sum of money I paid in advance, they kept the cleaning deposit!! On a property I’ve never seen. Wow.

Older home with good structure. Can use some tweeting. Very roomy host responded whenever I need answers. The location was centrally located for our conveniences while visiting the states of Wisconsin and Illinois.

Huge, amazing, wonderful and cool historic warm house- loved it & Maya was a gem.

First of all, I have a love for historic homes that have personality that have lots of wood and feel strong and sturdy- that someone put alot of love into when building. If that makes sense. - This house had that feeling. It was built in 1900 - which means it maybe what is called a "four square" - I found this article on homes in Milwaukee--- see urbanmilwaukee dot com/2015/02/25/milwaukee-architecture-the-first-100-years-of-city-homes It did not look exactly like this- however it looked like maybe it was a "greek revival"- by the way- go to Oakland and E. Locust for amazing Greek Gyros--like a 3 min drive-----and my fav- Roast coffee company---on E Locust and Maryland- about 5 minutes from the house. Bradford Beach is like--- 7 minutes??----there is a trendy area where Stone Creek coffee is also - that is like 6 minutes? guestimate..................we went to Basilica--which was 8 minutes away - jumping on the freeway---and then the art museum which was 9 min from there---- what a day---------anyway- I digress. We loved it--it is a full bath down stairs and a double bed adn single bed downstairs- right near the kitchen- so .... and 1/2 bath upstairs with 2 huge bedrooms at either end of the hosue--adn a deck off the back one. - the heat doesnt get to the front bedroom if you dont leave the door open at the bottom of the stairs.--- there is also a big open room before the back bedroom that has a click/clack sofa-bed. I loved Maya, she brought us more Forks when we had friends join -we four friends for dinner---she told us where the garbage bags were when we couldnt find them- there were tons of pans--only one sharp knife (Maya - sharpen your knives- only tiny complaint) The wifi was great- we had 5 people on computers for a video call---and all of us in different rooms for break outs- we had a hybrid women's wellness retreat. I would stay there again - and will- going to bring my grandkids from out of town there to stay- can't beat the price - such a huge house- with so much love in the energy-vibe. We had a great time--I cannot say enough about this house- I want this house--- I am going to look for a similar house- : ) - gotta get out of Hartford--- pretty but I NEED FOOD choices....lol.

Parking Issues and Rough Neighborhood

The house itself was totally fine. Clean, check in was easy even though I had to ask her for the info rather than it just being provided on the day of check in. It was in a pretty rough neighborhood though. Lots of overgrown lots, police sirens every night, and one night we woke up to police chasing a guy around houses. The other issue was there were no parking permit required signs anywhere and we all went out one morning to parking tickets. When we contacted the host she apparently knew she had to call in our plates and just never asked for them or did it. She offered to pay the tickets but to be honest I didn't trust that she would actually do it so we took care of $60 in tickets ourselves.

Exactly as advertised and expected

I booked this property for a one night stay during a family/friend road trip to Milwaukee. Owner was very good about communication. House was very clean. This is an older house with character and plenty of space. We had 6 adults and three children and still had plenty of room. We will definitely keep this place in mind if/when we venture back to Milwaukee again.
