Pu'u O Hoku Ranch offers a unique getaway for travelers seeking a rustic retreat. You can hike, swim, stargaze, and see a working ranch in action. Pu'u O Hoku is one of the few places in the islands where you can feel Hawaii as it once was. The Sunrise cottage is just a short drive from the black-sand beaches of Halawa Valley.

On the hill above the bustle of the ranch, surrounded by tropical gardens, with panoramic windows offering views over the bluffs to the ocean, the Sunrise Cottage is perfect for romantic getaways or small groups. Master bedroom with a queen bed, second bedroom with two twins, spacious living and dining room, fully-equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, and a shaded lanai.

The Sunrise cottage was built in the 1930s in a classic Hawaiian ranch style, furnished with Balinese and Hawaiian wood and textiles. The cottage is off the grid and runs on renewable energy, the water onsite is from our well.

We can also deliver fresh biodynamic and organic produce as well as fresh beef and venison to your cottage for you to cook during your stay!

The Sunrise Cottage is well laid out with beautiful views. Well stocked with the basics and kitchen wares. Your privacy is respected also. I highly recommend the ranch tour when you first get there to get you oriented to this beautiful 14000 acre ranch. My wife and I hiked over 40 miles of the trails in 5 days and did not complete them all. Beautiful special place with spectacular views everywhere. The host is very informative, pleasant, excellent communication, and take care of your needs.

The Sunrise Cottage, and indeed the entire Pu'u o Hoku Ranch is a hidden gem. We may be biased since we held our wedding celebration here back in 2016, but to return ten years later and find it even more lovely was a delight. Molokai isn't for everyone, but to those drawn to it a wonderful adventure awaits. We'll return as often as they'll have us. Mahalo to all those who made our stay so wonderful.

Very kind and gracious staff at the Ranch. We had the weekend all to ourselves in the cottage. Enjoyed gourmet Chef pre-made meals, hiked every trail and loved the solitude. Highly recommend!

Beautiful authentic stay

This is a charming and unique setting on the Pu’u O Hoku ranch. We enjoyed bird watching , watching the sunrise from the cove in the Halawa Valley, and exploring the lush landscape.

Magical Time Away

The sunrise cabin was everything we wanted when we disconnected from work. Everything from the location, beautiful scenery, comfy bed, great meat and produce from the host … we could have asked for a more perfect vacation. 10/10 would stay here again!

Lovely Long Weekend

It's the perfect place to get away for some pleasant cabin weather for books, board games, and yard games with the family. Our daughters (6 & 7) had a great time with the garden tour and horseback riding, and Halawa beach is a short drive away.

Beautiful Relaxing Stay

We had a lovely time relaxing in and around the property. It wasn’t at all inconvenient to explore Molokai from the ranch and we loved the winding road along the coast. The rustic elegance of the Sunrise Cottage was perfect and the addition of fresh vegetables, ground venison, and ripe bananas made the cottage feel just like home. It was a beautiful relaxing stay for us. Mahalo for your hospitality.

Stunning views

Remote setting providing peace, quiet and relaxation on a working farm and ranch. Hospitality staff were responsive to our needs, the gardener gave a wonderful tour of the farm and gfit store staff were all so helpful.

Quiet Retreat!

We had a wonderful visit to the Ranch. Accommodations were wonderful. Check in and out was a breeze. The meat and produce welcome gift was thoroughly enjoyed! A great place for a family vacation or trip with friends!

Pure serenity

My son and I really loved staying at the sunrise cottage. We felt like we had the ranch to ourselves! The fresh food provided was amazing and the cottage had everything we needed. We’ll be recommending it to our friends and family and would love to return.

We loved our 5-day stay at the cottage. The bag of fresh vegetables and fruit from the garden that we discovered in the kitchen when we arrived was a wonderful surprise. Beautiful location. Interesting garden tour.

Stunning views and delicious veggies

We had a wonderful get away at the sunrise cottages. It is such a peaceful and beautiful spot. We spent our 5 day visit, lounging in the sunlit living room reading, walking down to the cliffs and exploring the beaches in town! I would highly recommend the sunrise cottage for anyone looking to disconnect and relax!
