Summary:
Olivia's Rose
The Space:
Some places just feel like exhaling. Olivia’s Rose is a Cape Cod-style boardwalk cottage in Lincoln City’s Olivia Beach neighborhood, a short stroll from the sand, with a wraparound porch, a rose-lined garden, and room for six. It’s made for slow mornings, long dinners, and the kind of weekend you’re already looking forward to returning to.
Wake up, pour a cup of coffee, and carry it out to the wraparound covered porch or the rose-lined garden seating, where the salt air does its work before the day has even started. When evening comes, light the grill on the sunny back deck, pour a glass of wine, and let dinner take as long as it wants. And when the coast turns moody and the rain rolls in, the gas fireplace turns the whole cottage into the coziest place on the Oregon Coast.
The kitchen is compact but fully stocked, with a gas range and a big double-door fridge-freezer, so cooking a favorite meal feels easy and a little bit fun. Gather around the table, or pull up a stool at the breakfast bar and keep the cook company. With two living areas, there’s always somewhere to land: one for a movie by the fire, another for a book, a quiet phone call, or the conversation that runs late.
When it’s time to turn in, the downstairs primary suite feels like a retreat of its own, with a king bed, an ensuite bath, and a little distance from the rest of the house. Upstairs, a queen bedroom and a second room with two single beds share a bath, perfect for a second couple, friends traveling together, or anyone who likes a room to call their own.
It’s a five-minute walk to the beach, where seven miles of shoreline wait for tide pooling, driftwood hunting, and long, quiet walks. Across the street, Olivia Beach Park has walking trails, a community firepit, and volleyball courts, plus a small gym and a pool open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Farther afield, Cascade Head and Drift Creek Falls are two of the coast’s best hikes, and Devils Lake and Siletz Bay are lovely for time on the water.
Summer and fall bring the Kite Festivals and a sky full of color. Year-round, the Finders Keepers program sends beachcombers searching for hand-blown glass floats. In winter, watch the storms roll in from the shore, then come home to the fire. Even in summer, the ocean breeze keeps the cottage naturally cool, no air conditioning needed. When you’re ready to explore, Lincoln City’s galleries, boutiques, and seafood restaurants are close by, with Depoe Bay and Newport an easy day trip away.
