We are pleased to announce that we now have a very large private pool in our backyard!! The pool is only available for those guests currently staying at our home.
Our 1940's beach home is a Harvey survivor and has been completely restored with new stainless steel appliances, fresh paint and flooring and all the modern amenities. The high ceilings, beefy pine moldings and oversized windows with original screened in porch & rustic outdoor shower make for an unforgettable vintage beach retreat experience that is sure to please everyone in the family.
The fully equipped kitchen, indoor & outdoor dining areas, 2 bedrooms and 1 bath are located on the main level of the house. There is a separate outside entrance to the Crow's Nest loft where an additional bedroom, sitting area and toilet/sink/changing area are located. The large screened in porch is the perfect place to escape, after a long day at the beach, with your favorite beverage, take a nap, read a book or play a board game with the kids. The enclosed outdoor shower with hot & cold water located off the back entrance makes cleaning off sand quick and easy. Walking distance to most of downtown, the marina, Charlies Pasture and ferry landing. Mermaids and big kahunas of all ages welcome!!

Pool Sells It, One of the nicest pools on the island for the price point

Location is great, neighborhood is great, pool is great, overall the house is good, upstairs TV didn’t work at all, downstairs are just dated but has Roku on both downstairs. Upon arrival Bathroom was not clean, front door was unlocked when we got there, all was fine but as my wife said she wouldn’t of felt comfortable going in alone, looked like it had been a few days since the pool was clean, only took about 15 mins to get debris and sand out. Again nothing big. We visit Port A 2-3 times a year and have stayed at several places, this house is Overall very good for the price point, we would probably stay again.

Absolutely Amazing!

Everything about this house was great!! It was very clean and the decor was super cute! There were so many options for hanging out that our group of 8 never felt crowded. The pool is a huge bonus and we will definitely be staying at this property again!

Nice and restfull

The house was exactly as advertised and we really enjoyed the pool and the location. We are not the party type so a quiet neighborhood that we felt safe was ideal.

Perfect for our needs

This property was the perfect fit for us this weekend. We just needed a place to retreat after our son’s pole vault competition. The pool was clean and the house was wonderful.

Great outdoor space

The pool was clean and larger than we were expecting. The screened in porch with fans is a great way to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine. The bedroom setup with the crow’s nest was exactly as described in the listing (but watch your head up there). The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed for meals. Easy drive to the beach and other activities. Walkable too (but it was a little hot for that). Would stay here again.

Great Property

Family Beach Week

My family had a wonderful week staying at the cottage. The pool was a great addition to entertain the kids and supplement our time at the beach. One of the best safety features this house has installed are door alarms notifying when someone opens the door to the backyard (pool) which gave my family peace of mind with the two kids who still use floaties. The house was clean and had all the kitchenware needed for our week-long stay. The screened in porch was a perfect place to unwind after a long day at the beach. Another perk the house offers- an outdoor shower that my family LOVED. We also liked the cottage’s location/neighborhood as we had great access to everything! We would absolutely stay here again, without hesitation! Deon is a fantastic host!

2023 Annual Port A Girls Trip!

A darling and cozy space for old friends to relax & getaway for our annual girls weekend! The pool is fabulous & the outdoor shower was a nice surprise - perfect for cleaning the sand off from our annual bocce ball tournament before jumping into the pool. The awesome bathtub upstairs was not operational, but otherwise everything was simply wonderful!

Baby Blue Fishing cottage

Nice and easy check in. Great location if your fishing out of the Marina. Very private place. The pool was awesome.

Perfect beach getaway

We had a wonderful stay inPort A, and this property was an absolute gem! Although the weather didn't cooperate. This house was an ideal getaway. So charming, well equipped and decorated perfectly for that beachy getaway vibe. We loved this house and pool, beds were very comfortable, and we will definitely be back. The property owners were wonderful, great communication and tips for the local area. Thanks so much for a great holiday weekend!!

Great pool and location

The pool was the highlight of the trip. My kiddos spent all day swimming and we all really enjoyed the outdoor area, very spacious. Great location with east access to all of the shops.

Close to everything

Awesome stay! Beach is a hop, skip and a jump away, P.D, EMT literally down the street, grocery store 3 mins away. I love the "island living " vibes. The front covered porch was perfect for those unwinding evenings. The "crows nest" was perfect set up for teenagers. This place is set up with pretty much all the essentials for a comfy stay and even for cooking. Loved the pool! The only issue (if that) was that the pool isn't heated so it was a chilly first couple of minutes trying to warm up in there BUT other than that, we had a lovely time. Will book again!

Amazing Little Home away from Home!

This place is absolutely perfect and pics do not do it justice!!!! My husband and I brought my 17 year old son and three of his friends for a week. The "Crows Nest" was perfect for them and accommodated their sleeping arrangements comfortably. The home was very cozy and was just what we needed for a nice stress-free getaway!!! We will definitely be back. Thank you Deon for all your hospitality and sharing your home.

We have always loved the beach and in particular Port Aransas. We even spent our honeymoon in Port A, after our initial trip to Little Palm, FL was derailed by a tropical depression. It turned out to be one of the most memorable trips of our lives and made us determined to own our own piece of the island one day. In the fall of 2013 we decided to start looking for a place and spent a month looking at homes in both Rockport and Port A. However, once we stepped foot in the house on 612 Avenue A we knew we had found our special place. It has all of the unique character and nostalgia of an older home and its close proximity to everything in Port A and just blocks from the sand and sea make it the Best Escape Anyone Could Have (B.E.A.C.H.). We are 'shore' you will love it as much as we do!!
