This apartment is on the ground level surrounded by flower gardens and views of the Kenai Mountains and Kachemak Bay. The entrance is on the East side of the house and very private.

The bedroom is light and airy, with an especially comfortable queen size bed and sweet views of the snow-capped mountains. Windows are equipped with black-out shades for an extra good nights sleep.

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking: automatic coffee-maker, coffee press (there will be a sample of coffee beans from a local roaster), microwave, cookware, as well as some of the basics ingredients you will need for cooking in.

Both bathrooms are equipped with towels, soaps, shampoos, and hair dryer. A washer and dryer are available for your use.

The outside area includes a private garden seating from which you will enjoy the views of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains.

Close to town, guests can walk to see the attractions Homer offers. The Farmers' Market is a great option for the Saturday visitor!

This is one of three rentals available from Alaska Holiday Homes on this property. This house is a duplex. Rent all or a combination to bring a large group of family / friends together in one location (in all, beds for 12 - 14 people).

Garden House

This property was beautiful! It was exactly how it was pictured on VRBO. I had a great time, and if I ever come back to Homer I would definitely try and stay here again.

Cute and comfy

We enjoyed the stay very much. Clean and thoughtful amenities. Not far from grocery store, restaurants, and shops. Had a small issue with t.v., but the hosts were quick and courteous to fix it. We appreciated having a place that offered so much information about Homer.

What a beautiful location in Homer, AK!!!

We loved staying at this beautiful location. Well appointed with everything you need. Close to town, nice views and wildlife around! If you are visiting Homer, I strongly recommend this apartment. Washer and Dryer were a big plus in addition to the coffee, and water. Great hosts were waiting for us when we arrived, and extremely kind and helpful. Great recommendations. This was a wonderful place to stay in Homer!!! Thank you so much!!! Mike

Cozy home with great view!

My sister and I had the pleasure of staying here while visiting Homer, AK. The place was impeccably clean and felt like a cozy little home, complete with everything we needed. Waking up to the beautiful garden views with trees and mountains in the distance was truly amazing. We felt very well taken care of, with all the essential products provided for a comfortable stay. Definitely will be back!

Visiting family

Absolutely wonderful!! The view from the front yard was breathtaking. I sat outside so much and just took in the beauty of the views and flowers. The home was exceptionally clean and was just perfect for us. Quiet and peaceful but also like 2 min away from town. It was really hard to leave. It was fun to see A momma moose and her baby And later in the week we saw a family of Sandhill cranes … all right outside our window. We met the owners and they were such a lovely couple. We will def book with them again when we return

Lovely Garden Apartment with Gorgeous Views

The apartment is spacious and comfortable! It is very well equipped to make some nice meals in. We appreciated the coffee beans and variety of tea! We appreciated being able to do laundry during our trip. The views were beautiful and we were able to see wild life right out the window.

Homer stay

Very clean. Nice gardens. Very close to town. Bonus was the 4 sandhill cranes that flew into the yard and hung out for awhile. Good place for a quick overnight stay connecting with other plans.

Great location and views

Great 1 bedroom house with beautiful views close to downtown and the Spit. We had a wonderful stay. The host was super responsive and the accommodations were exceptionally clean and comfortable. We were visited each morning by a beautiful crane

Clean, comfortable and awesome views!!!

Great property—very clean. I have stayed at the other property on the grounds owned by the same owner—it was also incredibly clean. Beds were comfortable—kitchen had everything you needed. Views were awesome—we even had a mother moose and her babies visiting in the yard. Had some changes to our stay and the owners were very accommodating and kind. Would definitely stay here again!

An anniversary get a way

We had a lovely time at this garden retreat. The grounds are private and so pretty with flowers and birds. We even had a fly over very close by the Sand hill cranes as we were leaving. This place is super clean with a comfy bed. The two bathrooms were nice too. It had everything we needed. Thank you

Delightful space and views

Great communication, and easy check-in. The garden apartment is clean, light and spacious with laundry and two bathrooms that have good lighting. There's charging ports for various devices and big windows with views. It's very quiet when no tenants are staying in the house above.

Great place to stay in Homer

This VRBO is a great place to stay in Homer. It sits on a hill just out of the town proper so you have a beautiful view of the mountains. It is roomy and very comfortable. We stayed for a week and it was a great home base. We had everything we needed including a washer and dryer which was nice. The gardens are beautifully maintained and there was a pair of resident Sandhill Cranes that visited the yard most days, one of which did a courtship dance right in front of me which I was able to video with my iPhone. Being a bird photographer, this was quite a treat! Very happy with our choice and highly recommend.

Peaceful, beautiful, and comfortable.

My husband and I had a wonderful time in Homer and the accommodations were perfect and centrally located. It was clean, neat, and had every thing we needed to be comfortable. The plus was having a washer and dryer to run a load. The view was amazing and surprised us every day with the scenic beauty.

Scenic view and wildlife too!

Nicely updated, all the comforts of home. Two well equipped bathrooms and laundry. We seen sand hill cranes in the yard and a large cow moose. We and the moose enjoyed the delicious raspberries!

Trip to visit our son who is in AK fishing.

This property was perfect for us! We were able to see our son as his schedule allowed & plenty to do when he was busy. Very clean and everything we needed to feel at home for the week we were there! Having two full bathrooms was a definite plus! Phyllis even checked in through text to make sure we had everything we needed!

Great Views

A great get away with a view of Homer Spit and ocean. Clean and cozy accommodations with everything we needed. Very nice, personable hosts. Lots of wildlife right outside our window…two moose and sand hill cranes parading the area. Will definitely keep this property in mind for next visit to Homer.

Anfitrión: Kit & Phyllis Barnett

Phyllis was born and raised in Homer where her parents owned and ran the Inlet Trading Post, now the Bunnell Street Arts Center. Kit hails from Scotland where he worked as a groundskeeper and gardener. His expertise has been a great boon to the Homer property! Recently retired from their lives of working in Bush Alaska during the winter months, Phyllis as a teacher, and Kit on the Maintenance & Operations crew, but always returning to Homer in the summer to enjoy fishing, gardening, hiking, and boating with family and friends.

The property, with its close proximity to town and the high school, its views and homey feel was the perfect location to raise a family. The home was purchased from the original owners and builders, Paul and Phyllis Banks who had raised their family here. 'The house has always had the feel of a home, it is comfortably cozy with wonderful light and the classic Homer views. This is what we want to share with visitors - a great place to stay while visiting and enjoying the delights of my home town.' ---Phyllis

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Kit is constantly working on the grounds surrounding the home. It is an ever evolving mix of the practical and the beautiful, the groomed and the wild. Shooting Stars and Lady Slippers explode in the Spring; Poppies, Delphiniums, and Sitka Roses grace the gardens in midsummer; in August, raspberry bushes are loaded with berries.

The entry door for the Garden Apartment opens onto a garden of strawberries and Forget-me-not flowers while large white Pushki flowers crowd around the perimeter of the property.

All of this is set against the blues of the Kachemak Bay waters and Kenai Mountain's snow-capped peaks.
