This cozy cottage is located on red sands beach, lower basin, Lake James boasting awesome sunsets and peaceful surroundings. Features: 75 feet of west facing lakefront, dock to tie up own boat, gradual sandy beach with natural rock sea wall, outdoor furniture, outdoor firepit, fully furnished interior, equipped kitchen, microwave, gas bbq, full size washer and dryer, large screen HDTV, bluray, wifi and internet access. Master bedroom with queen bed, 2nd bedroom (open landing) with 3 single beds and 1 double and 3rd bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom (linens provided). Electric heating and window a/c unit. Off street parking. Quiet secluded setting with no through traffic on a dead end street, yet with easy access to many local amenities.

There's something for everyone within 15 minutes drive: big name grocery stores and DIY stores, reputable local restaurants, downtown historic Angola, The Outlet Shoppes at Fremont, and Pokagon State Park.

Short term weekly rentals available. Bed linens and pillow cases included. Bath and beach towels not included.

We have been coming to this property for about 10 years now… It works well for our family, it’s right on the lake with a large dock. We will keep coming for the foreseeable future! Very clean and well kept property.

Peaceful vacation

Great clean property. Window air conditioner with the use of fans did a great job keeping the place cool all week long. Sandy bottom beach was great for the grandkids and the evenings were peaceful sitting out around the fire.

Lake James cottage

This property is clean and maintained. You could not ask for a better location for swimming, skiing, and fishing. The lake is absolutely beautiful. I don’t want to ever leave!

Clean and cozy

We have vacationed in this lake home the last 3 years and love it. The new pier that the owner recently put it is excellent! Perfect for docking and lots of room to sunbathe. Already have next summer booked!

Great Lake Cabin

My family recently spent a week at this lake cottage. We had a great time. The cabin was clean and had a great view of the lake. The dock was convenient for lakeside activities. The property was well maintained. The kitchen was well supplied and we appreciated the washer and dryer.

Nice clean home on a Beautiful Lake!

This was our first time to Lake James, was referred by a friend. The lake has excellent fishing and water skiing. Our family really enjoyed it. The home was neat and clean, well kept and cared for. Had everything we needed. Owners were very easy to work with. Highly recommend this property for your vacation. You will love it!

Excellent location

Loved the location on the lake. Weather wasn't as good as we would have liked (windy and a bit chilly) so we didn't get to enjoy hanging out in the water as much as we would have liked. We did have a kayak and it was easy to get around the cove and the coves near by. Home was well equipped, beds were comfy and kitchen well stocked. Had a great time and would love to go back another time.

Week at Lake James Aug 7th to 14th

The house was great plenty of room for our family to stay comfortable. All the necessary things to make our week good and comfortable. Corner Landing was a great place to work with on getting us a boat too. The only bad thing was the steps into the water were very dangerous and slippery for Kids and Adults.

Red Sands Beach Cottage

Cottage is as described. We didn’t expect that with a 6pm check-in and after a 2 hour drive that we would have to make up six beds. It rained 5 of the 7 days we were there, so we didn’t need to turn on the air conditioner. A few items for a wish list: Re-plumb the downstairs shower (Getting a comfortable temperature required the skill and patience of a safe cracker.) Provide a small rowboat or a canoe. You have a wonderful vista - trim the trees to get full benefit of the view.

Really nice neighbors and having own dock was great. Nice location. Outside receptacles were a plus to keep our boat batteries trickle charged. Nice that we had our own washer and dryer. Refrigerator was clean. The hosts were nice and did answer any questions. There were ants everywhere and they were huge! The house was surface clean. The carpet was stained and gross and looked like it hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned in quite some time, especially in the dining room. The furnishings were outdated and the cabin had a funny smell to it. My husband had to fix the blinds to be able to enjoy the view of the lake from our bedroom. Toilets didn't flush well and a couple times threatened to overflow. BBQ grill had food stuff stuck to grates. Instructions for the grill included if the propane was empty we could fill it 🤔. Tried to contact vrbo and got the runaround and they never contacted us back. We'll spend our money somewhere else next time

Great location with beautiful sunsets

Old style cottage with great location on Lake James! Beautiful sunsets, quiet area & nice neighbors. It’s the third vacation at this cottage for our family & already booked for next summer. Very affordable for two week vacation & highly recommend!

We picked this property because of the history in the area, the beautiful setting and the great location on the lake. This is the original home built on the property and has been lovingly maintained and updated throughout the years, so you get the sense of time standing still with the convenience of modern utilities.

The big trees and beautiful lake views make it a very peaceful spot. The awesome sunsets can be enjoyed both outdoors on the patio and indoors from the picture windows.
Although secluded and peaceful, there are also many amenities available for those days when you want to venture out to civilization...Angola and Pokagon State Park are 15 minutes away, downtown Fort Wayne is 45 minutes, and downtown Chicago is 2.5 hrs drive.
