Modern Dream Lake Samish Waterfront Home

High Ceilings and Large windows make this home a place where the weight of the world fades away.

There is one bedroom with a queen bed, one queen size sleeper sofa (with a gel mattress) in the great room as well as a blow up queen mattress. A great place for two to six for a fun weekend.

My 'Girly Industrial' house theme is expressed in the pink accents, hand painted black peonies on the grey concrete floors to the truss joist with car-decking for the ceiling creating a loft like space.

I put in 'old lady' steps to easily get into the water off the dock so more are able to enjoy the lake on a hot day.

My house is designed for accessibility no curb for the shower 36 inch wide doors and it is all on one level. I brought my friend who is in a wheel chair for a weekend and she was happy to be so independent. For further details please call.

I am not always at a computer ( I am somewhat of a luddite) so my response time is not instant. I am at my computer on Mondays. Please feel free to call if time is of the essence. that is the best way to reach me.

This was an incredible stay. Host was fantastic and great with all communications. Super clean inside and had all we needed and more. Views were spectacular. Could not recommend this location enough!

Lovely. Peaceful. Jen was a terrific host and was very accommodating. We love this little haven on the lake. The kitchen is terrific, the sleeping spaces very comfortable. We’ve stayed here twice now and it feels like home.

Great ambience and wonderful amenities. I had a wonderful visit. Even saw an American Bald Eagle flying near the house; the view across Lake Samish kept my attention on the changing light. If you like comfort in a designer decor, this is your place.

Jennifer was one of the most gracious and generous hosts I have even encountered in my decades of booking with VRBO. Her lovely space was perfect for a solo writers retreat. Very peaceful and productive! The art and exceptional design were inspiring.

I chose this rental for its accessibility for my mother who was visiting from out of state. The location was perfect and suited all of her needs. The host was very accommodating and quick to respond to my questions. I would totally recommend staying here.

The home was a very contemporary, clean and cozy space. The kitchen was very well equipped and the sleeping spaces were very comfortable. We loved the lake view! Very calming. Communication was excellent and we enjoyed learning a little about the history of the area. Wonderful accommodations! We will be back.

This was my second time staying at this property because I loved it so much the first time. It is the epitome of a relaxing no fuss getaway. Both times i've stayed here on a solo retreat and it's been delightful how much my shoulders have dropped and the cares of the world have fallen away, even when i've been here working remotely. Something about sitting at the dining table or on the couch staring out at the lake, the geese and their babies mosing by, or walking out and sitting at the dock that just makes it hard to worry too much about anything else but being present. The space itself is very clean and organized, premium kitchen and cooking space, comfortable bed, luxurious bathtub and the hostess is very kind and helpful while also leaving you to your privacy.

Absolutely beautiful property. Pet friendly, right on the lake. You couldn’t ask for a better view. Jen was so responsive and always answered all of our questions and went above and beyond our expectations. Do yourself a favor and book your next stay at this gorgeous lakeside retreat.

Beautiful home outside Bellingham, Washington

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay in Jennifer's lovely and comfortable Lake Samish home. The location was the perfect home base as we explored North Cascades NP and the San Juan Islands. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit the area.

We had a lovely 3 night stay. The place was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked, the bed was very comfortable and the view from the living room was amazing. We will definitely be back :)

Excellent experience

Stayed 3 nights. Really enjoyed the place. Wish we could have been at the home more to enjoy the lake, but we were visiting family so not at the property itself except to sleep. Comfy, clean, would recommend for a couple traveling without kids.

Super stay Bellingham

Perfect base from which to visit family and friends in the area. Kitchen/dining area was very pleasant (equipment, space and outlook outlook) for meals and visits. Overall exceeded my expectations.

I am an interior designer based in Seattle since 1975. Since 2020 I have been managing my projects from afar and working predominately from my Bellingham office.

In 2009 I designed and began building this house on Lake Samish. Fulfilling a life long dream of designing and building my own home. I tease my clients that I have had 40 years of practice on them when they see my house and like it.

I love my house and I enjoy sharing it with others..

I grew up on the lake I lived across West Lake Samish Drive (up on the hillaisw from this property) where my family still lives. They have lived at the lake since 1962.

I always dreamed of building a custom house on this slip of land that is my families access to the lake. I have been sketching for decades. So what you see is result of budget hitting dreams and shaking down into a comfortable relaxing place to be.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

I grew up using the dock, swimming, skiing, and enjoying the lake however the first time as an adult I sat still and looked up the lake I felt the serenity of the view wash over me and I knew I wanted to live here.

So I have brought my precious things, my piano, art and Kitchenaid mixer (ha) to a space I can enjoy in anticipation of creating a place to retire. Until retirement I will share it with others and hope they can have a little piece of my dream for themselves.
