My family decided to go to Big Bearfor a quick family vacation. We stayed at the castle and had an amazing time! The house is very clean, beds are comfortable and the house itself is amazing especially for large families. The kitchen has everything you need and a lot of room for kids to enjoy themselves. It truly was a great experience and can’t wait to come back and stay here again.

We stayed at the Castle over Labor Day. Cory was delightful she was very responsive, wanted to be sure we were comfortable and well taken care of through the duration of our stay. Our group was all family and there were 13 of us. There was so much room we never felt crowded. All of the bedrooms worked perfectly for our group the beds were very warm and cozy. The bedrooms are very well laid out and my husband and I stayed in the main bedroom which was huge! We loved the front porch and the rooms with balconies so peaceful and quiet. The kitchen was one of the best, stocked with everything you could want from dishes and utensils to a full pantry. It rained one day of our stay and we stayed in played games and had a wonderful time despite the inclement weather. I would highly recommend staying there. I am someone who has stayed in many rentals and have high standards all were met here!

This is an amazing home perfect for a huge family or multi family vacation. Our crew consisted of 5 grandchildren (8-17 years old), a set of grandparents and 4 adults. The host was accommodating and let us check in about an hour early, which was nice. The home was extremely clean. The kitchen is fully stocked. Bedrooms are spacious. First floor has 2 bedrooms which is nice for those who have trouble navigating stairs. The pool table, arcade game, poker table, and outside play area are nice touches to keep kids entertained. We enjoyed the view from the balconies. Communication with the host was excellent. We ran out of laundry detergent and she arranged a delivery within an hour or so. The location is great- a short drive to the village and grocery stores. Would love to stay again!

We do this annual family big bear trip where our mom loves to stay in the same house with everyone. But it’s so hard to find that kind of space. But then, we found the castle! This house was amazing, clean and everyone had their own space which was the most important since we all have little ones who take naps and have bedtime routines. Every room has a bathroom! The pink master had blackout curtains which sleep training moms know is a game changer. One of the best rentals we’ve stayed at ever size wise and amenities wise. Loved it!

The Host was very welcoming and helpful! The amenities definitely met and exceeded our expectations! The rooms having their own en suite was awesome! We enjoyed the pool table, arcade games and poker table. The large tables in the house were great to gather as a family and play games, eat and do puzzles. The place was very clean and had everything we needed and more. There was so much room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves! A perfect place for our family to get together to have fun and relax! Also, a close proximity to the ski slopes and Village. There was also a jacuzzi but we didn’t get a chance to use it! But it looked very nice.

🏰 The Big Bear Castle was born from a simple idea: that every season should have a place to call home. Inspired by the grand mountain lodges of the past, it was imagined as a gathering place where summers would be spent chasing golden sunsets across the lake, autumn would paint the forests in brilliant shades of gold and crimson, winters would bring fresh snow and nights by the fire, and spring would awaken the mountains with wildflowers and new adventures.

For generations, mountain homes have been where families reconnect, old friends reunite, and new traditions begin. The Big Bear Castle was created to carry on that spirit—a place where mornings start with coffee overlooking the pines, afternoons are filled with hiking, boating, skiing, or exploring the village, and evenings end under a sky full of stars.

No matter when you visit, every season writes a different chapter, giving you one more reason to come back and make The Big Bear Castle part of your own family story. ✨🏔️

❤️ A Home Built for Gathering

The Big Bear Castle isn't just another vacation rental—it's our family's mountain home. We purchased it because we needed a place large enough to bring together our growing family, creating memories around the fireplace, on the porches, and after long days exploring the mountains.

We also host occasional corporate retreats. As a professional facilitator, I designed the great room to be a welcoming space where people can connect, collaborate, and build lasting relationships.

For most of the year, this is where our family celebrates holidays and special occasions. We're only making it available during select times—such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and popular ski weekends—when we know we won't be able to enjoy it ourselves.

We truly care about this home and hope every guest experiences the same warmth, comfort, and unforgettable moments that have made The Big Bear Castle so special to our family. 🏔️✨

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The front porches were what first stole our hearts, along with the grand entrance framed by custom wrought iron doors. The curb appeal is simply unforgettable—elegant, inviting, and unlike any other cabin in Big Bear.

Inside, we set out to create something truly special. Rather than follow the traditional rustic cabin style, we designed a modern mountain masterpiece. Every detail was carefully selected and upgraded, from the natural stone finishes and designer fixtures in the kitchen, coffee and wine bar, and bathrooms, to the premium flooring, custom lighting, and even the drapery. The result is a home that feels luxurious, timeless, and worthy of the memories made inside it. 🏰✨
