Our stay here was enjoyable mostly due to the location and proximity to the beach. Stubbs charges lots of fees and some can be waived so make sure to call and ask if you decide to book.
When we arrived, the unit smelled strongly of cigarette/cigar smoke. It was not super clean and the microwave did not work. When Stubbs was notified, the employee dismissed my concerns about the smoke smell and said that it was not possible given the health conditions of the last guest who was in the unit. He stated that it was likely second hand smoke that came from someone smoking outside the unit. When someone has concerns like this, do not dismiss them or try to explain them away. I cannot recommend Stubbs to anyone because of this incident alone. Thankfully, someone who came to fix the microwave reported the smell back to the office and they scheduled a carpet cleaning.
As for the vacation home, you are a 5 minute drive from Whole Foods and the beach, 5 mins walking distance to a playground. You can hop on the freeway easily and traffic seemed minimal minus school zone times. There is a pool (no hot tub) behind the unit. The neighborhood is mostly quiet. Laundry is convenient but is kept in a personal locked closet outside. We did have issues with the washing machine as well but someone did come to fix it.
PLEASE ask the owner to replace the dishes as they are badly chipped and/or cracked.
While I am thankful Stubbs was able to fix most things that were broken and have the carpet cleaned, I was not fond of having multiple people in and out of the house during covid.
