Bright, well appointed and in a great location, the cottage is surrounded by incredible as well as edible gardens, pottery & art studios and a hand crafted quality that makes it an ultimate Ashland experience.

Tile and hardwood floors, granite counter tops, beautifully furnished and fitted with fine linens and details that address your every need. Cozy bedrooms, off street parking, perfect for two, sleeps four(one queen bed, 2 twins), private, clean and well lit, large windows with mountain views. Close to everything and just far enough away to be peaceful and private. Located over a detached garage, up nine steps.

We appreciated our stay so much that it is was sad to say farewell. The property was immaculate and the friendly hosts very responsive. The garden and common areas are beautifully designed with thoughtful details for guests to enjoy. Highly recommended and the BEST place to stay when visiting Ashland, OR.

I can’t imagine a more perfect place to stay in Ashland. Easy to find, easy to get to theatres and downtown. Hosts Mark and Elizabeth have everything down pat, from enchanting courtyards to fully equipped apartments, comfy beds, with their art thrown in. This will be our return spot in Ashland

The cottage was delightful! My sister's and I enjoyed our stay in Ashland and especially the Terra Cotta Cottageit was comfortable and a perfect location for Lithia Park as well as the theatre. The cottage is a brief 15 minute walk through a lovely neighborhood to the park/theatre end of town and quite refreshing after dinner as well! Mark and Elizabeth have very unique cottages in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to our visit in August--We are coming Back!! M

Clean, Accessible, Great Hosts!

Cleanest place we have ever stayed outside of our own home! Cute, quaint, beautiful grounds! Friendly, helpful hosts! This will be our go-to destination whenever we are in the area! Only wish we could have stayed longer to cook in the outdoor kitchen, and play a little music with Mark!

Great Location, wonderful value

The place was just right for 4 adult family members...there are adjacent common areas that are also quite well-maintained. Location is close to the theatres and restaurants, but also quiet and peaceful. Mark and Elizabeth are considerate and helpful hosts. We would definitely come again!

Setting delightful

Elizabeth & Mark are phenomenal hosts. They are artists in their own right which made for interesting conversation! The outdoor FULL kitchen and seating areas were a real bonus.

Wonderful place and hosts

This is the best appointed place I have ever stayed at in Ashland or anywhere. Elizabeth and Mark were terrific hosts. The cottage is lovely and very comfortable. The attention to detail was unmatched: from touches in the bathroom to the outdoor kitchen, from the super-comfy robes to the art and pottery. It is also an easy walk from the Terra Cottage Inn to downtown and the Festival. Highly recommended.

Welcoming stay

Our family felt right at home at Terra Cottage. I had previously stayed at High Street Cottage (on the same property as Terra) and loved it, but it wasn’t available on my dates. Fortunately, Terra Cottage was just as lovely and had everything we needed. It was decorated with beautiful artwork and pottery handmade by the host. We enjoyed many of our meals in the outdoor patio, complete with a well-stocked outdoor kitchen. The grounds are welcoming, as are the hosts, Mark and Elizabeth. We look forward to seeing them again on our next visit.

The hosts are energetic and made our stay comfortable. We were upstairs and our only problem was road noise. Otherwise the location was perfect and the grounds are gorgeous.

An esthetic delight

Terra Cottages delivered more than I expected. The hosts, Eliazabeth and Mark felt like long time friends and were so welcoming and hospitable. The location is within walking distance of the Theaters and restaurants. The kitchen is well equipped and there is an attention to detail that is seldom seen. I arrived as a stranger and left as a friend.

Lovely property! Hosts were friendly and accessible next door. Advance communication with hosts worked well to get us prepared. Thanks to their tip sheet in the property we were able to pivot when OSF cancelled two shows and pick up two other shows instead. We could not have done that without their info on hand. Thank you!

Private, peaceful and perfect

Had an amazing experience at this lovely vrbo. Just as advertised, very clean and very close to the downtown area. Walking distance. Owners responded to questions very promptly and they were very accommodating with our request to check in early. Cottage had all the amenities and tastefully decorated. They were so helpful, kind and resourceful when needed. The home is very private but shares a beautiful and inviting backyard space with the owners. The steps up to the cottage were very doable for an average adult and very easy so don’t let the previous review deter you. Travelled with friends for a short stay but would definitely return. Thank you again for everything -Jane

Wow! We have "been aroun...

Wow! We have "been around" for quite a few years, but Mark and Elizabeth are the best hosts we have run across - bar none. All the amenities described on the Terra Cottage Inn website are there, and in tip top shape. All the little touches (like whole bean coffee for the first morning, with the grinder) are there. A great outdoor area for grilling and chilling. And great hosts - fun, creative, interesting to talk to. They worked hard to make our stay pleasant. (Even provided Tom with a motorscooter to run around town in - since he was a licensed motorcycle driver!) We are glad to have found this spot in the town that our son and daughter-in-law have moved to - we'll be back!

Exactly what we were hoping for

We stayed here in early Sept while attending OSF. This property is lovely and an easy walk to the theaters. This above-the-garage carriage unit is charming and designed beautifully. Beds were comfortable and there is literally everything you could possibly want in the house. We have stayed in VBROs where you show up and there is one fork in the kitchen and two hangers. Not here, the hosts have stocked the house with everything you could possibly need, kitchen is fully stocked with housewares, books, magazines, robes, games, local menus, even DVDs. In addition to the house kitchen there is a beautiful outdoor kitchen in the beautiful garden where we made breakfast each morning and relaxed in the afternoons. The hosts, both artists and their lovely work adorn the property, were welcoming, friendly and helpful. They live in a separate house in the property, so they are nearby if needed. But you won't need them, everything you need has been provided. Parking was easy and the place mostly very quiet (a bit of traffic noise from the nearby street in the mornings, but not obtrusive at all – I slept very well. I only mention it because if you're a super light sleeper, you may prefer the other rental these hosts have on the back of the property (which also doesn't have stairs) Because you need to stay here! As we attend OSF each season, we will most definitely be back.

We rented both cottages, Terra Cottage and High Street Cottages and both were delightful!! The common deck area was stunning and so peaceful. Mark and Elizabeth were very gracious hosts and we enjoyed our conversations and helpful suggestions about hikes and area activities. The cottages were spotless and very comfortable with both air conditioning and ceiling fans -- both were necessary for the 100 temps!! The location is perfect and within walking distance to restaurants, theatres and Lithia Park. We plan to return to Ashland again, Martha

Great find!

The cottage is great! Charming and every need has been anticipated and fulfilled. (although the stairs were a bit of a surprise.) Our hosts were so helpful and welcoming. The yard and patios were wonderful too.

Mark and Elizabeth Schoenleber are artists (sculpture, pottery, drawing and paintings) Mark taught art at Ashland High School from 1983 to 2013 and Elizabeth has been supplying the world with beautiful hand thrown stoneware kitchen-ware since 1988. We enjoy traveling and meeting people from around the world. Hosting allows us to work in our studios at home and still meet people from all around the world. We love it in our travels, when we find a place that exceeds our expectations. We also love being able to provide that experience for others.

We designed and created the Terra Cottage Inn in 2005 to reflect the beauty of Ashland and the surrounding Southern Oregon Region. We are in a great location (4 blocks north of the Ashland Plaza), it is truly a park and walk to everything (dining, parks, shopping and theatre) experience.

Our property has several gardens (flowers, herbs salad and vegetables), decks and patios, including a full outdoor kitchen. There is a relaxing koi pond, hammock and many great decks and patios to relax and enjoy stay.
