Cabin was extremely clean, was perfect location to all the activities we wanted to do (hiking, lighthouses, esc). Was just right for a couple to get away for a small trip. The host went even as far as leaving a sweet treat for us on arrival and fresh flower bouquet on the table! :) Thank you again!

Easy check-in & out process. Very close to so many hiking trails, the ferry to Washington Island, & restaurants. The fire pit, futon, & window AC were all nice perks. This was a lovely dog friendly environment.

Josephine and her family were wonderful guests, communicated clearly, took good care of the cottage and left it very clean. I would highly recommend them to other hosts!

This cottage was immaculately clean and the perfect location for day trips around Northern Door County, including the fun shops in Ellison Bay being a walkable few blocks from our front door and both Newport State Park and Ellison Bluff less than 10 minute drives. We were happy to find many accessible trails in the parks, and grateful that the cottage was dog-friendly. The private yard was perfect for a campfire in the evening, and the covered porch was a great spot for a quiet breakfast outdoors. The host was very communicative without being overly present, which we appreciated. The beds and futon were comfortable and the kitchen well appointed for making our own meals, and the island countertop was an excellent place for our arts & crafts activities. The peacefulness of the cottage was so welcome after some of the busier days we spent in Fish Creek, Sister Bay, and Ephraim. We really enjoyed our stay!

The cottage was super cozy and really beautiful. The location was amazing super close to restaurants and coffee shops! We had an amazing time here and will definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay

Check in and out was easy. The cottage was great with everything we needed. The cottage was clean and nicely decorated. We would definitely stay here again. Sophie had fresh flowers on the table and a cherry tart for us.

We had a short, sweet stay this time, and as always, the cottage and Door County did not disappoint! Thank you for continuing to offer this place, and for letting our (well-behaved) dog join us here!

Quiet and Clean

Wonderful Experience

The cottage was lovely, clean, and is in a great location. The best place we've stayed in Door County! We really enjoyed staying. Sophie ensured everything was to our liking upon arrival and touched base during our stay to see if we needed anything. We would definitley stay again.

Fantastic stay!

Such a great Door County getaway spot! Easy 5 minute walk to great sunset views, coffee houses, tavern, restaurants, cider house and more! We had daytime temps in the low 80s in July, and the A/C kept the whole house comfortable. Easy drive to Sister Bay. Loved it!

Loved the cottage. lots of little extras - cut flowers, coffee, bowl of fresh cherries, a Ghirradelli chocolate in each bedroom, etc. Very clean. Great location.

Betsy and her sister were ideal guests. They took very good care of the cottage (they even watered the plants and flowers) and left it very clean. I highly recommend them as guests!

Ellison Bay Beauty

I love the northern Door and Ellison Bay in particular. This home’s location is perfect for us. Walkable to the waterfront and several shops/restaurants. Biking in the area is wonderful. We enjoy the wraparound porch. The owners are kind and communicative. Thanks for having us!

Lovely May visit

We're now regulars to this Ellison Bay cottage and this was a great visit. We love the location and the cottage itself and communication with Sophie is always clear and friendly. We are so grateful that they continue to let us bring our well-behaved dog. We have a wonderful time taking walks, playing on the beach, and relaxing there. Thank you!

Ellison bay bungalow

Loved my stay here! Excellent location for my week stay....appreciated all the special touches Sophie provided like fresh flowers, chocolates, coffee, etc. that are above and beyond other VRBO stays I've enjoyed. This is an old home with character, that you wish the walls could talk and tell you stories. Very comfortable and clean and just what I was looking for. I already plan to reserve it again next year ;>)

Another lovely springtime stay

We love staying in this perfectly-situated cottage in Ellison Bay. I'm not sure, but I think this might be our 9th time staying there. We love the northern part of Door County, and Ellison Bay in particular. And communication with Sophie is always easy and very cordial and pleasant. AND she allows our dog to stay! VERY grateful for this! Thank you!

Great Stay in Ellison Bay.

The cottage was exactly as Sophie described. It’s in a great location, walkable to the little downtown. The Italian restaurant around the corner was amazing. The cottage was spacious and clean. Nice touches included the water dispenser, the coffee and the cherry tart! Our one suggestion would be to put a small recycling bin or bucket in the house to take it out to the large bin. We are big recyclers so we had lots of trips to the bin. We loved the yard and the flowers. We would absolutely stay again. Such a quaint cottage in a quaint town. Thank you

Early fall in Ellison Bay

We love this cottage. We love its location and cleanliness, and we are always so grateful that Sophie continues to allow our well-behaved dog to come and stay. We had a wonderful week in the early fall weather, taking walks, going to the beach, watching sunsets, reading, napping, eating.... Perfect. Thank you!

Charming Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at Sunny Cottage in Ellison Bay. The walkable location is wonderful. We enjoyed the wrap around porch, peace and quiet. The cottage is well furnished and pleasant. Communication with the owner was great - promptly responsive. The fresh flowers and cherry tart were nice touches. We were glad to be able to bring our little dog with us as well. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

While taking a class at The Clearing

Ellison Bay is a very rural area and, at least when we were there in early June, not crowded. Sophie's place was conveniently located near a nice coffee shop and a few restaurants. Sophie lives nearby and is accessible via cell phone. She checked in several times with us to see if we needed anything. The house was comfortable.
