This sunny garden cottage in the charming village of Ellison Bay is minutes from the water where you can enjoy magnificent sunsets...as well as walking distance to The Ellison Bay beach and excellent restaurants & galleries. Ellison Bay is in a great central location for visiting the southern villages of Door County or the more quiet Northern forests, beaches and Islands. There are many cycling, kayaking, walking, hiking and swimming possibilities nearby.

Cute, cozy cabin

Excellent location in Ellison Bay - walkable to a few shops. Perfect for a quiet retreat in DC to unplug.

Great place to stay

Check in and out was easy. The cottage was great with everything we needed. The cottage was clean and nicely decorated. We would definitely stay here again. Sophie had fresh flowers on the table and a cherry tart for us.

Family trip

Sophie is great and very welcoming! The description of everything was very accurate so we knew what to expect. Quiet area and close to major towns.

While taking a class at The Clearing

Ellison Bay is a very rural area and, at least when we were there in early June, not crowded. Sophie's place was conveniently located near a nice coffee shop and a few restaurants. Sophie lives nearby and is accessible via cell phone. She checked in several times with us to see if we needed anything. The house was comfortable.

Another lovely springtime stay

We love staying in this perfectly-situated cottage in Ellison Bay. I'm not sure, but I think this might be our 9th time staying there. We love the northern part of Door County, and Ellison Bay in particular. And communication with Sophie is always easy and very cordial and pleasant. AND she allows our dog to stay! VERY grateful for this! Thank you!

Wonderful Experience

The cottage was lovely, clean, and is in a great location. The best place we've stayed in Door County! We really enjoyed staying. Sophie ensured everything was to our liking upon arrival and touched base during our stay to see if we needed anything. We would definitley stay again.

Early fall in Ellison Bay

We love this cottage. We love its location and cleanliness, and we are always so grateful that Sophie continues to allow our well-behaved dog to come and stay. We had a wonderful week in the early fall weather, taking walks, going to the beach, watching sunsets, reading, napping, eating.... Perfect. Thank you!

Relaxing cottage

If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing cottage in Door County, then this is the place for you. It’s the perfect size for a small group or a couple, it was very clean, it is super cute, the wrap around porch was the perfect place to enjoy our morning coffee, and there were hummingbirds right outside the front window. We also found fresh flowers on the table and a very delicious cherry tart when we arrived, what a nice surprise! Sophie is a great communicator and got back to us quickly when answering questions or just checking in to see how our stay was going. My husband and I can’t wait to go back. This was our first time staying in quiet Ellison Bay and it did not disappoint.

Fantastic stay!

Such a great Door County getaway spot! Easy 5 minute walk to great sunset views, coffee houses, tavern, restaurants, cider house and more! We had daytime temps in the low 80s in July, and the A/C kept the whole house comfortable. Easy drive to Sister Bay. Loved it!

Ellison Bay Beauty

I love the northern Door and Ellison Bay in particular. This home’s location is perfect for us. Walkable to the waterfront and several shops/restaurants. Biking in the area is wonderful. We enjoy the wraparound porch. The owners are kind and communicative. Thanks for having us!

Lovely May visit

We're now regulars to this Ellison Bay cottage and this was a great visit. We love the location and the cottage itself and communication with Sophie is always clear and friendly. We are so grateful that they continue to let us bring our well-behaved dog. We have a wonderful time taking walks, playing on the beach, and relaxing there. Thank you!

Perfect for us

First time VRBO for us and our dog. The home was clean, fully equipped for our needs, the bed was comfortable and the covered, wrap around porch was so peaceful. Sadly, we didn’t get around to using the fire pit, but next time! We couldn’t find anything negative or lacking whatsoever! Thank you Sophie for everything…flowers and cherry tart too! 😊

Charming Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at Sunny Cottage in Ellison Bay. The walkable location is wonderful. We enjoyed the wrap around porch, peace and quiet. The cottage is well furnished and pleasant. Communication with the owner was great - promptly responsive. The fresh flowers and cherry tart were nice touches. We were glad to be able to bring our little dog with us as well. Cozy Cottage in Great Location

We really enjoyed our stay! Cute cottage in a quiet neighborhood with a nice porch in a prime location. 2 coffee shops within walking distance, handful of beaches nearby (less than 10 min drive), and quick drive to Washington Island Ferry. Good communication with host. She left a binder with beach recommendations; one of which is our new favorite. Would definitely stay again!

A delightful stay

We loved Sophie's cottage. It was centrally located to everything we were doing this weekend but still felt private and secluded. The house was well stocked and and very clean. Communicating with Sophie was easy and she was always quick to respond. We would love to stay here in the future.

Clean cozy cottage in perfect location

Host is communicative and helpful. Property is very sweet with a nice garden and a wrap-around porch. Walking distance to groceries and shopping. Easy driving distance to wonderful hikes such as the Mink River nature area. We loved it.

Late September in Ellison Bay

This was our second stay at this property and it was excellent (again)! The house is very clean with plenty of room for two adults (plus dog), and the location is wonderful. We're so grateful to the owners for offering this for rental and for allowing dogs. Thank you!
