Communication with the host was wonderful! They were able to let us check in early, which was a wonderful benefit for us. The house is large and perfect for a family of four. The dinning room area with vaulted ceilings is a real stunner. There are great views from every room in the house. Very private, located down a long gravel driveway. Conveniently located in Ipswich and near to great places like Salem, Gloucester, and Newberryport!

Beautiful home with exquisite construction and detail. Picturesque quiet location. Lovely landscaped property with soothing pond views. Host indicated that he was available but never obtrusive, with one pleasant, in person, social interaction. Modern appliances, well equipped kitchen. Spotlessly clean with comfortable beds.

Wonderful stay

The property was a highlight of our stay. It was so peaceful and in such a beautiful spot. Have spoken about it many times since returning home.

GORGEOUS views

Communication was excellent. We had a bathroom that needed serviced and they did that promptly. The views are incredible!!! Gorgeous property, cute town, extremely enjoyable stay!

Spring retreat

Very quiet getaway from the everyday city life. Wonderful community of small businesses. The heart and soul cafe in Ipswich is a must breakfast destination.

Such a lovely home right on a beautiful pond located in the forest/woods of Ipswich. Beautiful property, well maintained and friendly owners. Would definitely return!

Bedding is Important

The property is nice enough, somewhat difficult to find as it is down a long dirt road. The biggest issue we had was the poor quality of the beds and linens. There are 2 twin beds in what should be the master suite and a queen bed upstairs. The twins were very springy and sagged a lot. The queen as extremely firm and unpleasant. For the rates that are charged I was expecting higher quality bedding. The towels were also of low quality and very stiff. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Hi Julie, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following: -The 1/3 of a mile dirt driveway, which serves the cottage and a couple of houses, is what provides privacy that guests value. -We're aware that both twin bed mattresses need attention, and we plan to make improvements during the off-season. -We understand mattress preferences are subjective, and we feel the queen mattress is of high quality. -Bed locations are a function of our cottage's use as a family house for most of the year. -Upgrading to more expensive linens and towels would require us to increase rates above those recommended by Evolve. -Despite contacting you three times before and during their stay, we had no response. -Thank you for your review. We encourage all our guests to contact us with suggestions on how to improve our unique and lovely cottage.

Beautiful cottage with a great view

The cottage was well cared for and had plenty of room to spread out. We loved sitting on the screen porch that overlooked the pond, listening to the birds. The location was convenient to beaches and other activities. Our host was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating.

One of my favorite vacation rentals of all time

I loved this place so much. When we first arrived at the property, we thought we might be at the wrong place; tucked away on a private hillside overlooking a pond, it's even lovelier and more picturesque than the listing photos. The house itself is artfully designed, with a smart layout and beautiful finishes. Each bedroom (there are really three, though one is set up as a den) has a private bathroom. The rooms are positioned far apart from one another, which is ideal for privacy and solitude. The house is stocked with everything you could need. The showers had great water pressure, and steamy hot water (a minor detail, I know, but I always appreciate it). The hosts were kind and very helpful. I suppose the only drawback of this place is its (lack of) proximity to town. It's super close to Crane Beach, which is precisely why we booked it. But it takes a good 15-20 minutes to get to a grocery store. We didn't mind this in the least, but I could see it being an inconvenience to some. Overall, I would recommend this place 100 times over. We hope to be back next summer.

Secluded private vacation home

The house was beautiful, clean & comfortable. Host was available for questions or concerns. Surroundings were filled with wildlife! Theere was swan family & a pair of cranes that came for daily visits. Quiet, peaceful & relaxing... Fill with family & friends for a GREAT VACATION! The bug season had just begun so bring spray & candles, Mother Nature rules at this house. ENJOY

Harvest Moon over the Lake was icing on the cake

Such a beautiful, comfortable house in a serene and lovely setting, two miles from Crane Beach, is a perfect escape from the city. The host is extremely responsive. Swans on the lake make it picture book beautiful.

beautiful and relaxing

The house and location were spectacular and the host was very helpful and accommodating, even letting us borrow his canoe to explore the pond. Close to Crane Beach and completely quiet and tranquil.

Perfectly beautiful tranquil retreat

As we could not go to Paris to celebrate a milestone birthday/anniversary year, we drove to Ipswich in the year of COVID-19. This perfectly beautiful, peaceful sun-filled home on a pond with swans and egrets was lovely. Our hosts were delightful, left great instructions, and wood for the fireplace for the unusually cool evenings. We had a guided kayak tour in Fox Creek with the Trustees of the Reservation staff and delicious take out dinner from Ithikas. It is a very unusual and special setting one hour from Boston.

Comfortable gracious home

A beautiful house tucked into an idyllIc setting. Located 5 minutes from spectacular Crane Beach. The hosts are generous, gracious and wonderfully accommodating. A real pleasure to work with. This guest house is on a handsome estate with complete privacy. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quality experience.
