Loretta, thank you for this review. Kalkaska Getaway sleeps 14 and your dogs are welcome to join you. Only 150 yards away is the access to the lake. It is shared access with 6 other homes. Manistee Lake is a sandy-bottom lake, very shallow with a gradual slope. There are 5 kayaks and 2 canoes for guest to enjoy.

That is definitely not our "Freshwater Standard" We are currently addressing the issue so this does not happen in the future. It was just an estimate that the property owners made when we first started working with the Kalkaska Getaway. It was not our intention to be misleading. I have since changed the description to 1000 feet and extending the distance to reflect more accuracy. I realize while it may be 150 yards as the crow flies, as humans need to talk down the street, turn left and then left again to the beach easement. My apologies.
