Enjoy Pure Michigan!

Enjoy time away with friends and family in our cottage. This cottage sleeps eight in three bedrooms, sleeper sofa and futon. The two level cottage has three bedrooms, a living and dining room with a fully stocked kitchen (includes dishwasher) two bathrooms, full walkout basement with laundry facilities and an attached garage. Also, a large deck that over looks the water. There is a fire pit down by the beach to enjoy evening sunsets. A row boat, paddle boat and canoe are included to explore Rennie Lake. Life preservers are required by law and are available.

Located 10 miles from Traverse City. The National Cherry Festival, Film Festival, wineries, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, tours of the State Hospital, TART & VASA bike trails, hiking, art fairs, museums, Iron man, snowmobiling, skiing, fall color tours and numerous local shopping are just some the attractions to enjoy.

Yearly and monthly rental available with adjusted rates. Sorry, no wi fi but many people use their hotspots and cell phones without any problems.

This was perfect for our family. We didn’t get to utilize the paddle boats liked we hoped to, but it was a nice setting for a campfire. Perfect place for visiting the Traverse City area. The hostess had lots of extras that others do not often leave for you to use. We had 6 adults and a toddler. It worked for us.

From the south make sure you approach Lake area from 131 and (NOT fromKingsley, that drive is a one lane dirt road with nothing but woods. No stores, no houses.) I blame my navigator! I hope this helps you to avoid that route. I was so glad we brought supplies. Later I discovered that Meijers and several restaurants deliver to the cottage. Make sure you have Instacart or Door Dash!The hosts were easily accessible and very helpful! We had a great time!

Friends Reunion - Traverse City

Had an amazing time at the cabin and enjoyed the lake. Being 30min from downtown traverse made it easy to visit town and to enjoy what it had to offer. Would definitely stay here again if we head up to traverse again.

My family had a great experience. Starting from the communication with the owner, to the quiet location, and the big yard with plenty of mature trees and shade. We even had an incredibly helpful and friendly neighbor who helped us dock our boat rental. We would defiitely stay again!

Great Rennie Lake location

Rennie Lake is small and quiet. It’s a beautiful spot and we enjoyed the close proximity to Traverse City. The house matched some previous descriptions.

Trip to Traverse City Horse Show

We travelled from Canada to attend a horse show in Traverse City. The listing was exactly as described and the cottage had everything we needed to enjoy our week long stay. The kids had fun on the canoe and paddle boats and loved going to the sand bar on the west side of the lake.

4th of July

Our family enjoyed our stay at this property. We had plenty of room for five adults and four small kids. The lake is very nice and the small beach on property is great for the kids. We had some really nice fires in the evening and the sunsets are beautiful. Easy 20 minute drive to Traverse City!

Friends weekend

Home has plenty of rooms and setup great for socializing as family. Nice clean beds,showers. Did need to rewash many dishes and vacuum when we arrived. Water a bit tricky to use and not great pressure. Area nice and quiet. Kids had fun at lake and traverse city soo close.

Home away from home

We enjoyed our stay on Lake Rennie thoroughly! There was plenty of room in the home for our family as well as some of our extended family. The house was well stocked with everything we could have needed (camp chairs, cookware, boats). We barely saw any of the kids until dark because they were constantly out swimming off the paddle boat! It was a beautiful, safe area, and we have already been talking about doing this again next year! Thank you so much for a great trip!

Fun Quiet Stay

We enjoyed our stay on Rennie Lake at this “Enjoy Pure Michigan,” rental. Our group of seven included relatives visiting from England. The house was clean and as described. We had no issues with communication and were even recommended a few places to pick blueberries and cherries from the owner. The lake was very nice and there were enough kayaks for all of us to paddle around the lake together, which made our stay even more fun. We also enjoyed using the firepit and looking at the many stars over the lake at night. Had no issues whatsoever. Also, the proximity to Traverse City was a plus.

lake house

dirty, dirty, dirty! bare tack strip between dining & kitchen floor. moldy coffee filter in the coffee maker, from previous renters. spittle on the bathroom faucet from previous renters brushing their teeth. mold & burnt crust on the grill from previous renters. dishes in the cupboard were dirty. cheap, thin, bath towels. dusty throughout. there had been no effort into preparing the house or yard for the coming guests. windows filthy, with cobwebs on the outside. deck had not been swept, in anticipation of guests arrival. it's obviously an older home, with no updates or even effort into making it "welcoming."

I was disappointed in hearing such a poor review when we had been communicating all the way up to the day of the visit and answering all questions promptly. The only other communication we had was when they asked when they would get their depoit back so you can imagine how surprised we were when they did not let us know of their problems with our house. Early summer in northern Michigan pollen falls like snow so you can sweep it once and in an hour it is back and that is was happened. We did our guests a favor and allowed them to come early which did not give me time to sweep the deck again. And unfortunately it rained their whole weekend so it kept happening. We have a keurig/ coffee pot combination and 3 extra coffee pots in the closet for guests use. The towels are name brand and many extra ones are in the hall closet if more are needed or texture is not right for you. The outside of the house is swept weekly because being in the woods outside critters live there too. The house is an older house and updates are always being done and the pictures show what is inside so if it doesn’t feel welcoming it probably isn’t a proper fit.

The place on Rennie Lake was so peaceful and relaxing. We had a good time fishing, boating and visiting with family. We hope to return to this place in the n ear future.

Pam was super helpful all the way through our stay. She went above and beyond for us. The house was spacious, clean and just perfect for our big family. Plenty of room for everyone. The pictures don’t do it justice. Such a beautiful setting and waterfront.

Traverse City MI Wedding Trip

We traveled from Kansas to Traverse City for a family wedding. We enjoyed our stay at the house. Our two 5 year old grandsons were with us. We had a great time being on the lake and using the canoe to fish !

Family wedding

This house was great for our larger family. We were in town for a wedding in Traverse City. Pam was wonderful to work with and very responsive to messages.
