As the song in the our property video says, “These are the BEST DAYS!” Casey Key days are always the Best Days!
Relatively new to the rental market, this luxurious private home is located on the tropical island of Casey Key in Nokomis, FL, just South of Sarasota and Siesta Key, on the Gulf Coast.
Like privacy? There are no neighbors on either side of the house. You will enjoy unobstructed views of glistening water & sunrises & moonlight on Blackburn Bay.
Like the beach? You're looking at a 1 minute walk from the front door to, “toes in the sand.” The beach is serene and extremely private. No need to reserve your spot. You could walk for hours collecting shells and sharks’ teeth (don’t worry they’re fossilized) and not see another soul. Or simply sit and relax, taking in the panoramic gulf views, the waves and spectacular sunsets.
Like room to spread out? We have no doubt you will fall in love with this 3500+ square foot home and all its offerings. Guests will appreciate that each of the 4 bedrooms has their own attached bath, for added privacy. The 1st & 2nd floor master suites both feature King-sized beds. The Upstairs Master has a Large Private Balcony overlooking the bay, complete with lounge chairs for napping, watching the sunrise, or enjoying an evening drink. Each Master has a desk overlooking the Bay, should you need to work during your stay.
Like to cook? There’s an amazing Gourmet Kitchen with Viking appliances, double ovens (one convection) a microwave drawer, dishwasher and refrigerator. There’s even a huge walk-in-pantry hidden behind a secret door! Everyone will gather around the massive island for prepping, serving and entertaining. We’ve provided everything you need to whip up whatever’s on the menu.
Like to dine outdoors? The spacious lanai is the perfect spot to start your day, to entertain, or to unwind after a day on the beach. Grilling is a treat, with a built-in-grill, sink and beverage refrigerator, as well as outdoor speakers for your music.
Like fishing? You can cast right off the pier and there’s also a boat dock with new boat launch nearby off of Blackburn Point Road. The fish literally jump out of the water which is funny to watch!
Like wildlife? The mangroves provide the perfect setting to watch wildlife, like ibis, herons, dolphins, and manatee.
Like the water? Swim in the endless clear water of the sandy bottomed gulf. Take a dip in the private pool to cool off or hang out in your floaty, watching the boats go by or the action on the lanai!
Like options? You can do as much, or as little as you desire. Swimming, boating, fishing, shelling, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, sunning, beach wandering, biking, etc. Golf, tennis and restaurants are close by. Downtown Venice is about 15 minutes away for more restaurants and shopping. Sarasota is less than 30 minutes for music, theater, and galleries. Disney and the Orlando attractions are about a 2 hour drive. Just across the bridge to the mainland, you'll find jet-ski, kayak and boat rental facilities, restaurants, including the Casey Key Fish House and Tiki Bar and Pops Sunset Grill.

We found Casey Key in 1998, renting a house from a friend. He said Casey Key was “special,” and we would see. That was an understatement! It was our first family vacation, ever, and we ended up extending our stay, twice, and finally dragged ourselves away after 3 weeks! Our children were 5, 3, and 6 months so the idea of a single family home and a private beach appealed to us for many reasons. From that trip forward, owning our own home on Casey Key became our dream. Every time we came we would pretend to pick out "our" future home.
Fast forward to Spring break 2016, the last day of our vacation, and it was raining. Sitting out on the lanai of the home we were renting, (because when you’re from Chicago and in Florida on Spring Break, you’re outside no matter what!), we had the IPad out looking at homes online. 2508 Casey Key Road came up as new to us and after quickly swiping through the pictures, my husband said, “hit that button that says ‘request a showing.’” Seconds later, my now favorite Florida real estate agent, Rob Hunt of Hunt Brothers Real Estate, called to set up the showing. I think we were both afraid the house would actually be as good as the pictures...and it was better! As soon as we opened the front door, we knew.
We closed in May and brought our family down once again, this time the kids were 22 (Washington University in St. Louis Grad), 21 (junior at DePauw University in Greencastle, IN) and 18 (soon to be a freshman at DePauw). We’d never experienced Florida in June and were somewhat skeptical. Now, however, we are big fans of Florida’s Summer weather. The water in the gulf was amazing! We’d never spent so much time in the water before! Gulf breezes kept us out from the morning sunrises from our lanai and dock to the evening sunsets on the beach. Now is our opportunity to pay it forward and share our home with you, whether you already know how “special” Casey Key is, or are soon to discover it's many charms.

This is our dream home, 18 years in the making. We love its location on the Key near the historic Casey Key swing bridge. Just across the bridge you'll find jet-ski, kayak and boat rental facilities, the Casey Key Fish House and Tiki Bar. With no neighbors directly on either side, you will enjoy maximum privacy. Casey Key is almost all single family homes. No high rises allowed.
When you sit on the lanai, all you see is the water glistening on the bay. You can fish right off the pier, the water is so clear you could just scoop them up! 2 chairs at the end of the dock are the perfect place to watch the sunrise. The lanai is huge and the perfect spot to unwind after a day on the beach. Grilling is a treat with a built-in-grill, sink, and beverage refrigerator, as well as outdoor speakers for your music.
The beach and the gulf of Mexico are literally steps away, maybe 1 minute door to sand, panoramic ocean views, and a private beach with spectacular sunsets. Honestly, you can walk for hours and not see another soul.
Inside, there’s a dream kitchen with viking appliances, double ovens (one convection) a microwave drawer and dishwasher and refrigerator. There’s a huge walk-in-pantry hidden behind a secret door! Everyone will gather around the huge island and we’ve provided everything you need to whip up whatever’s on the menu.
There’s not 1, but 2 master bedroom suites, which was one of the features we love about this home. When our college kids visit with their friends, they can have the the upstairs and we can retreat to the 1st floor suite. Having 2 master suites is also handy if you’re vacationing with two families, no need to fight for the master bedroom!
