Take a step into your next favorite vacation home here at Lazy Bear Lodge. This highly sought after modern rustic cabin is located in the Northern Black Hills recreational corridor just minutes from the local ATV/snowmobile trail system, 5 minutes to skiing at Terry Peak only 10 minutes from Deadwood, 15 minutes to Spearfish Canyon Lodge, and about an hours drive to Mount Rushmore!

Lazy Bear is a 3 bedroom 2 bath cabin which will comfortably sleep 10. It is professionally furnished to make you feel right at home and the cabin has WIFI, cable, games and parking for motorcycle/ATV trailers. The main level has an open living/kitchen/dining area, with an amazing fireplace and a 55” smart TV above the mantle. Enjoy the gorgeous view from the huge deck off of the kitchen, which has a BBQ grill and picnic table. The kitchen is fully equipped with an assortment of appliances and kitchen essentials. The main level also has a full bath, laundry, and bedroom with a queen bed. The lower level has a family room with a flat screen TV, blue-ray/DVD player, and a full size bunkbed. Enjoy the huge deck off of the family room, which has a private jetted hot tub and lounge chairs. The lower level also has a full bath and 2 bedrooms.

The Gilded Mountain community offers a paved road to the cabin, as well as use of the clubhouse, which includes a heated outdoor pool, 2 hot tubs, sauna, pool table, air hockey, exercise room and WIFI. We welcome you to Lazy Bear Lodge on your next Black Hills adventure!

Overall a wonderful rental!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The vacation rental location was perfect! The outdoor sitting areas were amazing and the cabin was a great size for our crew. We loved the open kitchen area. Our only concern was cleanliness. The toilet upstairs had not been scrubbed between renters and neither had the floors. I did bring this up to the contact at the rental right away! Overall though, we really did enjoy our stay at this beautiful cabin!

Christmas time

We have stayed at many cabins in the black hills and this was one of our favorites. We loved the community lodge available also. Would definitely stay again.

Pleasant Stay in the Northern Black Hills.

Nice location, quiet area with easy access to the northern black hills. Overall, a very nice cabin.

Great Cabin

Beautiful cabin, easily accessible and in a beautiful area. Close proximity to Deadwood, grocery & liquor store, restaurants, hiking. What a wonderful, relaxing retreat. I can’t wait to come back!

Rude Management

Was going good till we ran out of propane on the grill right in the middle of a big cook. After a couple of attempts to reach management to have them deliver a propane tank they finally returned our call. We were told no one was available to bring one and we should go get our own. They would reimburse us. Also insulted us by accussing us of being intoxicated. What happened to call if you need anything?

Nice place that did not live up to expectations.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Cabin was very nice. It is clean and the hot tub was great. The kitchen equipment is very used and subpar. The beds were next to impossible to sleep in. In a queen bed you would sink down into the middle of the bed and it was very hard for two people to sleep in one. We had to try all three beds to find the least worst one. For the price paid I do expect good sleeping conditions. I encourage the management company to try to spend the night here, so they understand the issue. I will not be staying here again.

We enjoyed everything except the club house. Way to many kids. Rules need to change to where there are certain hours for adults only. Example: 6-10 pm.

A little piece of Paradise

The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of room for our family to spread out and relax. The peaceful setting made it the perfect getaway. The clubhouse and pool were such a fun bonus for everyone. We’d definitely come back again!

Great Place, Poorly maintained

The property was great. Very nice and everything worked. It was fairly clean except for some dust under the couches and dust covering and old artificial Christmas tree. See the attached photos: We had mold falling off our clothes after using the washing machine. It was full of mold and disgusting. One bedroom mattress did not have a cover and was stained...gross. The mattress tags were dated 2016 meaning that they were original and in dire need of being replaced as they sunk into the middle and were not comfortable at all. Upon arrival, we noticed one of the bedrooms did not have a TV. The property description listed each bedroom with a flat screen TV. We found the TV manual in a dresser drawer. It must have died and was never replaced. I sent an email to the Property Manager complaining as we do not book units without a TV in each room. She called me immediately and told us to "pack our stuff and leave. I can have this place rented out in one day." I've never been treated so rudely by any owner/manager. We've rented thru VRBO many times over the past several years. I would not recommend this place as long as it has the current Property Manager. Huge disappointment.
