Panhandle Getaways furnishes a few essential items for guests to utilize until they can get to the grocery store. Initial Supplies include: Dishwasher soap, small washing machine powder, each bathroom has amenities (like hotel but NOT restocked) shampoo, conditioner, soap bar. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom & one paper towel roll in the kitchen. All bed linens and towels are provided. We encourage guests to bring beach towels for use at the pool and beach.

Very clean view was nice nice location for restaurants,shopping

We all enjoyed the condo … very updated clean.. stayed on the pool side .. ocean walk was fine for us but would be to long for someone who isn’t able to walk .. Would return again to same area … had good communication by text for any issues … we all loved Destin…🌴🏖️

Lazy river and access to beach were great

Very nice 3bdrm apartment on bayside of Okaloosa island. Access to beach via pedestrian bridge and a long walk. Lazy river was a daily activity Plan on trip to grocery store soon for food and essentials. Only downside, wear slippers or socks in apartment, floors turned bottom of socks black.

Nice Place!

We had a great time staying here. The beach was a little bit of a walk from where our condo was located. The condo was very nice, but the floors needed to be cleaned (mainly the carpet). We had a great view of the bay and enjoyed watching ships and boats come through. Rooms were nice except for the one with the bunk bed needed a little more space in the room and a place to store items. Overall, we would stay here again. The lazy river was wonderful!

For what we paid, this Panhandle Getaways unit fell short of its 9/10 rating due to neglect, rigid service, and safety issues. Having stayed at their Panama City spot with no issues, this was a massive letdown. They refused a date change request 6 days prior. Arrival parking was bad, forcing long walks from secondary lots for handicap access. Crucially, balcony doors had broken locks, leaving our possessions exposed. When reported with a tub backup, the tech admitted high turnover means they lack time to service units—disappointing since our date change would have freed up a day. He left the lock unaddressed and failed to clear the drain with Drano, leaving us in ankle-deep water all week. The tub filler leaked during showers, and hot water didn't sustain simultaneous showers. Also, 50% of bulbs were burnt out (fixed during visit), curtains were falling off tracks, bedroom lamps were broken, and a nightstand basket was missing. Photos hid these chipped furnishings and dated finishes to focus on views and pool. The layout had zero dressers or luggage racks, bunk closets were locked, and other closets were cluttered with junk and a rug crumpled on the floor (pictured in den). Housekeeping was decent—floors were clean contrary to old reviews—but we found stray hairs and wall splatters. The pool had rotten wood, mold and missing tiles, no pool towels provided, and no one checked wristbands they threatened heavy fees for. It’s tired, dated, and the ratings don't reflect reality.

Awesome Resort

This was my family's 2nd time at this resort, first time at this condo. First off, the resort is amazing! We love coming here because there is something for everyone, my kids love the lazy river while my wife and I enjoy the pool. This area is great if you want a gorgeous beach without overcrowding. Secondly, the condo was much nicer than the first one we stayed in, there was plenty of room for us and my wife loved the kitchen! Lastly, Panhandle Getaways was great to work with and I will definitely be booking with them from now on and recommending them to anyone looking for a great, affordable, hassle-free vacation.

Cool Resort - Great Condo

We took a well deserved and badly needed vacation - friends had recommended Panhandle Getaways and the Destin West resort specifically. I'm a bit of a neat freak ...but it was pristine clean. Very nicely furnished and room for all 6 of us! The kids loved the lazy river (so did the adults). We had not ever rented a condo before but having all the comforts of home instead of a hotel room is what we will be doing more of with our big family! Thanks so much. Would love to return next year

Destiny Destin

Pretty good property. Not as new or clean as the listing states. Very limited on towels provided for the size of the property. Beds were pretty cozy which was pretty important to us. Overall I’d recommend this place and stay here again. Also, skip the VRBO charge and call Panhandle directly and you’ll save the money I didn’t get to save.

Florida 2023

The only real complaint we have is the floors were extremely dirty,everyone’s socks were ruined they were so black from walking on the floors same with bare feet they turned black. The washer and dryer didn’t work but they took care of that problem gave us a place to wash clothes until it could be repaired. We really enjoyed our stay

Beautiful Bay View

The unit was nice. It was a little bit of a haul to the beach. Lazy river was awesome. Checkout time being 10am is way too early. Unheard of really. The unit is not really a three bedroom because the 3rd bedroom has no usable closets. Overall it was nice and comfortable. I do agree with previous comments, they need a new cleaning crew as far as a deep cleaning goes.

Not bad

We arrived on a Saturday around 6pm and when we walked in there was a lady still cleaning the room even though check in was at 4, the room still wasn't ready and after we got in and our bags to the room me and my wife started looking around the room and both looked at each other and said did they even clean in here. So needless to say our first night there we went to target to get a swifter and some Clorox wipes cause the master bedroom didn't even look like it ever got vacuumed and the kitchen floor had black shoe prints from someone walking on the floor while wet. Second was the master bedroom tv cabinet the door was literally hanging on with 1 screw and almost fell off when my 1 year opened the door so a huge safety hazard for little kids. Kitchen was big enough to cook meals for 10 people so no problems there. Great view of the bay and the lazy river, easy to keep eye on kids at the pool from balcony. Short walk across the street for the ocean was nice. Some of the furnishings could use some updates due to so much wear and tear.

Very nice apartment but it smelled like cigarettes, that's what I didn't like. but the place the perfect location the beach is close. The sea water was very dirty but that was not a problem for my family and I spent some spectacular days. I rent again thanks

The property was nice & had great time, but shower floors (especially in master) hadn't been cleaned

The property was nice. We loved the lazy river and the area. The balcony was nice and the rooms were spacious. But, the condo overall needed to be cleaned more thoroughly. There was a fresh piece of gum stuck to the side of the bunk bed and the shower floors had not been cleaned at all. The master shower floor had hair in the drain, etc. But overall it is a good location, nice condo.

Wonderful facility. Very family friendly. The ground keepers do an amazing job so beautiful. The only complaint we have is in our condo our refrigerator produced ice but did not dispense the ice and the floors in the condo were very very dirty had to wear socks or slippers or feet were black on bottom🤔

Loved the condo, lazy river and beach, BUT

Our first evening was disturbed with 3 fire alarms going off every hour! The condo was neat, but had food on silverware in drawer, bathroom drawers were "hairy", Jacuzzi tub spewed black stuff out, shower button in small bathroom tub didn't work all the time and toilet in small bathroom wasn't flushing properly. However, we did have a great time. Just a little more fine-tuning in housekeeping is needed.

Vacation 2017

The condo is really nice but does need some attention. The bathrooms has mildew The toilet seat in the guest restroom needs to be replaced and the toilet runs off and on. The water and the ice maker does not work ( they provided us with two ice trays). The property manager called shortly after we arrived and welcomed us which was nice. However, I would not booked through Panhandle Getaways again ever! They tried to cancel our reservation 3 weeks after it had been booked and a deposit made. I had to get the BBB involved after dealing with them for 4 days with no resolution. Vacations are for relaxation not stress.

excellent

Everything was fantastic the room was great, it was close to everything, the only problem we had was that the hot tubs were not working properly the Jets in them were not working but the water was hot, and that the water fall in the pool area was not working as they advertised, other than that it was a great place to go, we would go back.........

Worth the money!

Nice property with many different options for pools, hot tubs, etc. Lazy River was AWESOME! We would have liked to seen a little more attention to detail when it came to everyday items-i.e...more than just one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, no laundry detergent, no salt & pepper. Also there was not enough seating...needs another couch! Ice maker & water on the refrigerator did not work. It was updated & decorated nicely!

Please note in your Rental Agreement as well as in our Panhandle Getaways App, it states that we only offer a start-up amount of toiletries and sundries; you'll have to purchase additional items for the rest of your stay. Very nice!

Very easy access to many attrations. Walking distance to beach, food and conveinence stores.

Destin West

My family loved our stay at Destin West! We booked through Panhandle Getaways & had fantastic customer service!!!! Our condo was without a working blender. We went & bought one only to be told had we called they would have gotten one for us! Sonya was willing to help in any way possible & gave us her number to reach her at any time! My kids loved the pools, lazy river, & ease of access. The beach was a short walk away. Fudpuckers is next door to the condo & The Boardwalk was easy to walk to for dinner! The condo itself was beautifully decorated & without the typical tacky beach theme paint/furniture. The tile floors were easy to keep sand free & the master tub was perfect for relaxing after a long day. We spent a lot of time on the balcony. There's a large table with chairs for us all to enjoy the bay & pool during the day & night. We definitely plan on returning!
