The apartment location is fantastic - so close to key sights, Seine river, train stations, and a huge number of local cafes, brassieres, restaurants, boulangeries and Patisseries. The apartment has great light and amenities, particularly for short stays in Paris. (FYI - for longer term stays like we had it would benefit from somewhere to place clothes and toiletries as there were only a few glass shelves in one of the bedrooms and it was difficult to move around the suitcases.)The host was very accommodating, offering help when we needed it. We loved our stay here. We highly recommend it. Be aware though that as a typical Parisian apartment there is no lift so carrying heavy bags up 3 flights of winding staircases is very difficult. Also, if staying in summer, there is no air conditioning but fans were kindly provided.

This Apartment is in a Fantastic location! it is in St Germain de Pres, just off a main road. It is a couple of small blocks from 2-3 Great areas (a block or 2 wide) with lively restaurants, food/wine/some clothes shops. The BEST ice cream shop, Amorino, is just around the corner. We went there every night! It tastes fantastic and they shape it as a rose on a cone, Beautiful.The apartment is clean, the 2 bedrooms are good, but there is no place to unpack your clothes. one room has a small area of shelves, which I used for my clothes. It was just 2 of us so we used the 2nd bedroom for our clothes. The living space upstairs is good, comfortable and a nice place to unwind at the end of the day. I had read the previous reviews about the stairs and climb and was a bit nervous. It really is not bad. yes it is 3 flights up, but the staircase is wide, regular width, with a curve at top and bottom instead of a square landing. the only quirky part is right at the entrance to the apartment. Another tall fan or 2 would help. Advice if you rent here...when climbing the stairs at night there is a switch just inside the door, but it is timed, so hit the switch again on the second floor so you can make it to your door on the third. The hot areas are Rue de buci(block with Amorino)and Rue Mabillon.If you eat at the apartment you may see a mouse, just clean up when finished. With all the fun places to eat in the area we only ate in once. All in all a GREAT stay!!

The flat was wonderful and close to all the beautiful sights in Paris. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A few problems, the water closet sink faucet handle didn’t work, the kitchen faucet worked but was not fastened properly, the comforters were clean but stained, and the window over the spiral staircase, when opened was a hazard to anyone climbing up the staircase.

Perfect central location

Everything you need is close by -great cafes, grocery store, metro stops, and walking distance to tourist sites. There are a lot of stairs to the third floor but it’s location makes up for it.

Excellent location

Excellent location. In Paris, very close walking distance to cafes, bakeries, restaurants, museums, Notre Dame, St. Chappell, metro stops. Recommend more & better furniture for sitting in the living room.

As in all things Paris, places are small with lots of steps. However to climb to the 3rd floor on a narrow winding staircase (especially with suitcases) can be very difficult. 68 steps each way!! I think a warning that people with mobility issues would not be able to handle this. No shelves or anything to put clothes on. Lived out of suitcases that we had to leave in the foyer. There were no directions on how to operate any appliance - especially the washer/dryer and the unit is very different. You Tube videos were not helpful. We were 4 people staying for 6 days with 1 dishcloth and 1 roll of toilet paper (we purchased more TP). However it was a Great location - safe and close proximity to lots of Paris attractions.

We absolutely loved the apartment. The location was incredible in the historic city center. Many sites were walkable not to mention near, cafes, shopping and a couple of metro stations. Great communication with the owner, about getting in and recommendations. It is a 3rd floor walk up which we loved the views and space with 2 bedrooms, 2 showers and one toilet closet. We aware you need to buy a few essentials once there yourself. Which wasn’t a big deal. Love this place and would highly recommend it.

Perfectly Perfect

The apartment is in a wonderful location and provided us a perfect home away from home. The stairs should be considered for any guests with mobility limitations, but they did not pose any issue for us. Isabelle was a great host and was quick to respond to our questions. All in all we highly recommend this property when you are visiting Paris. Thank you for hosting us!

The location couldn't be better. Easy access by Metro to anywhere in the city. 61 steps up to the apartment door! Mouse on the premises. One roll of toilet paper for the whole week.

Can't beat the location!

You'll be lucky if you can get in to this property! The location was truly fabulous (walkable to Louve, Musee D'orsay, Sainte Chapelle, Cluny, with 2 nearby metro lines to get us everywhere else.) The home has clearly been thoughtfully updated and, while different from western standards, contains all the charm that a Parisian apartment has to offer. (Of note, there is no air conditioning.) Very close to grocery as well! The neighborhood is cute and hip and feels safe.

Great location - Lots of stairs

The location of this apartment was terrific. In the heart of St Germain des Pres, walkable or metro distance from almost everything we had hoped to see. The challenge was that the apartment is at the top of four flights of steep stairs. We are all older and I was grateful that no one was mobility impaired, but it was a slog getting our bags up so many stairs. I would have liked to know in advance. Our host was responsive when we had a problem with access.

Great location, Nice apartment

The apartment is a nice small apartment very well located. There is no elevator in the building and you must climb three very long, steep, spiral flights of stairs to reach it, which was very difficult carrying suitcases at the same time. There is a shower and sink in each bedroom open to the room so you must feel comfortable showering in front of your roomie and there is only 1 toilet in the apartment. The ac unit is only downstairs where the bedrooms are and the unit had a leaking problem where lots of water would spill out so it had to be turned off. If you go from June-August this is not good because it was extremely hot all day. The apartment is really good for a family of 2 or 4 (with small children). The location is excellent and the apartment Was very clean and well maintained.

Great Location and Comfortable Apartment

The apartment is located in a fantastic location, for this fact alone I would stay here again. I loved the proximity to restaurants, shops, multiple metro stations, and easy walkability to the Seine River area. The apartment was very clean when we arrived. We would have liked a few more towels, we didn't see any in the kitchen area, and toilet paper was limited. Either bring a roll or be prepared to buy some. The stairs weren't too bad, but bringing up large suitcases was a bit of a pain so pack light! The neighborhood does have a lot of activity at night so if you are sensitive to noises while sleeping bring earplugs, I am not usually an earplug person but I needed them and once they were in it was fine. For some reason I didn't get an email with check in instructions and I couldn't find any information in the VRBO app but once I called the property manager she texted me the check-in instructions.

Great Location

We spent a week here ahead of the Tour de France finish in July. The location was great with two Metro stations close by (one is literally across the street). There are lots of cafes and other places to eat within a short walk. The Mabillion (~50 ft away) is open 24 hrs/day so we did not even have to worry about timing. We had a couple of good meals there and tried several others in the area as well. As other reviewers point out there are lots of steps, but we were aware of this and it was not a problem. If you have mobility issues it may be a concern. The only thing we couldn't figure out is how to keep the light in the stairwell on long enough (it is on a timer) to make our way to the top before being plunged into darkness. Also, we couldn't figure out how to turn the light on at the top of the stairs if we were making our way down to go out once it was dark. Also, one roll of toilet paper with no spare just added an extra ounce of worry and one more trip to the store. If this is a cost issue for the host, then just raise the rate. If this is an issue of the VRBO community for taking anything not nailed down, then shame on us. Our overall experience was great and a I mentioned the location was ideal for us. We would definitely consider it for a return trip.

Great location but disappointing stay

This apartment has a lot of potential but currently misses the mark. Like many of the reviews state, for this being a short term rental, some basic items should be included that are not. You have to buy everything, there is no toilet paper included, no trash bags, no soaps of any kinds (dishwasher, hand soaps, detergent), absolutely nothing…. Overall cleanliness was also lacking, dust throughout the apartment among other things. Windows were open when we got there which brought in 20+ big black flies so we couldn’t open the windows during our stay. One of the showers had a terrible mildew smell and the other has a sliding glass that is about to fall off. Like another review stated, the sink in the bathroom is detached and there is a MOUSE in the apartment. During our stay, the house was broken into and our stuff was thrown everywhere. The owner did an amazing job responding and taking care of us after this incident, just surprised it happened since the main door to get into the building requires a passcode. Overall if the upkeep was better and basic supplies were provided, this would be a fantastic place to stay since it’s location is within walking distance to many tourist areas.

Great Location, a little noisy

Pros: The appartement is in a great location within less than a 10-20 min walk of most of Paris typical tourist monuments (Sainte Chapelle, Notre Dame, Le Louvre, multiple Jardins, musée d’Orsay etc…). You’ll likely want to take the subway for the Tour Eiffel and Arc de Triomphe. Tons of restaurants and a few options for grocery shopping in the area, pastry shops etc… The host answered questions through the VRBO app within a day. Cons: The flip side of being in such a busy and accessible area is noise. During the summer, you will want to have the windows open at night to stay cool. The apartment is 20 meters from a main 4-lane street and between two mostly pedestrian narrow streets that amplify all the noise from vehicles and noisy tourists until very late at night to early mornings. If you are a light sleeper and need a super quiet environment to sleep, you may want to consider an alternate location. We were OK and I wouldn’t have a problem renting this apartment again. Room for improvement: when travelling, I do appreciate when I do not have to shop for toilet paper, trash bags, laundry detergent etc… there is very little cost to having the rental stocked with enough of these small necessities to last for a week and that is a gesture that I do really appreciate. In our case, we had one trash bag, 2 toilet paper rolls that lasted us a day and a half (5 people) and we had to buy everything else in quantities that way exceeded our needs. Overall, 4 stars for us

The apartment was very nice, but I would note that the showers are right in the room and is not a separate bathroom. They are very small and the water pressure is not great. My only complaint is when the toilet paper ran out they would not replace it, and I was required to go out and buy it.

Un appartamento sporco e poco curato

E' inammissibile la presenza dei topi e non si può accettare la poca pulizia dei bagni, con la muffa nelle docce, un vetro della porta della doccia a rischio di distaccamento , i lavandini che perdevano dagli scarichi , il wc sporco e in generale un appartamento poco curato e poco accessoriato, veramente un pessima esperienza pagata in anticipo e senza una reazione positiva dei gestori

Monsieur, Votre commentaire est inadmissible ! Suite aux travaux effectués dans l'immeuble, vous avez en effet eu la désagréable surprise de voir une souris, vous m’en avez informé et mon fils est intervenu pour l’enlever immédiatement, vous ne lui avez signalé aucun autre désagrément 4 jours plus tard vous m’avez signalé qu’une douche n’était pas propre et qu’un lavabo fuyait, nous vous avons appelé et laissé un message pour faire intervenir immédiatement la société de nettoyage et un plombier mais vous ne nous avez jamais rappelé pour convenir d’un rendez-vous ! Les personnes en charge du ménage sont très compétentes et l’appartement entre deux locataires est complètement nettoyé et désinfecté. Les précédents locataires sont très satisfaits Vous m’avez laissé l’appartement extrêmement sale avec un lavabo cassé et un radiateur arraché du mur ! Nous avons du faire intervenir un plombier et un électricien pour remettre mon appartement en état ! Je pense que vous souhaitiez que je vous rembourse une partie de la location, comme ca n’a pas été le cas vous avez intentionnellement dégradé mon appartement et maintenant vous faite un commentaire malhonnête !

Amazing and perfect for my group!

I was on a trip with some friends and this was a perfect stay for us. The location was amazing and walking distance to many shops, restaurants, metro, sights, museums. One thing to note: the apartment was on the 3rd floor with no elevator. This was no problem for us but should be noted as it was a surprise!

Excellent with a few exceptions

First the good: Location is outstanding. Literally steps to main attractions including the Louvre, Notre Dame, and even the Eiffel Tower is a pleasant walk. You'll find two cafes at your feet, along with a pharmacy, bank, and anything else you'd want or need. The apartment is comfortable, nice spacious showers, good hot and cold water, comfortable beds. The WiFi was good. There are two showers (one in each bedroom which is odd, but functional). Each bedroom has it's own sink basin. There is only one toilet in a separate closet-like space with a very small sink as you enter the apartment. It's small but adequate. The wall mounted heating units double as towel warmers which is a nice touch. The not-so-good: 64 steps to get to the apartment and they're steep, plus another 12 up the spiral staircase once inside. It was fine for us but anyone with any health or mobility issues should consider this carefully. The unit is above two cafes and on the first night there was very loud chatter from below until after 3 am. We downloaded a white noise app which saved the day. Not all nights were as bad but the weekends do get loud. The washer/dryer broke on us and the owner did come and get it fixed but it was essentially unusable for us. There are limited supplies. A half roll of TP, very little dish soap. The towels were worn. The comforter was dirty but the owner quickly replaced (thank you!). There is a coffee maker but not a single coffee cup. Plenty of other dishware however. Frig is small but adequate. There is a 2-3" step off outside the toilet room and between the bedrooms which is annoying as we tripped on it multiple times. A wooden wedge could easily be made to avoid this hazard. We would be happy to stay again as the location, overall comfort and price outweigh the negatives.

Muito fraca a limpeza, falta de limpeza até nas roupas de cama, falta de produtos para banho e lavar as mãos... Nem uma garrafa de água havia para os hóspedes quando chegam.. diz que tem secador de cabelo mas não existe. Falta de comunicação com a proprietária que não respondeu às nossas perguntas e nada fez para melhorar a estadia, após as nossas queixas. Estadia para 6 pessoas e não estavam feitas as camas para as 6 pessoas e nem toalhas.. Acesso ao 3 andar sem elevador um pouco complicado. Resumindo boa localização com tudo perto, mas o restante deixa muito a desejar.. experiência a não repetir.
