Our second stay here and will come back again!

We are absolutely enamored with this quiet country home. The beds are super comfortable, it’s easy to get to and the owner is super nice. We use this as a “home base” between Lafayette and Opelousas. Furnished with everything We needed. Highly, highly recommend!

Peaceful, beautiful, restful atmosphere

We spent our first anniversary here and were extremely pleased with the entire stay. The serene lake with birds, trees and greenery surrounding it was definitely one of the best parts of the property. Fishing was good, we caught catfish, bass and a few small bream. The cabin/house was wonderful also. Plenty of space, well furnished and equipped with most everything you would need. We loved it and would definitely recommend it.

As a mobility chalanged person I found it very difficult to go from the rock driveway to the two step porch as confirmed by the owner prior to our stay. However, inside, and not mentioned by the owner or seen in the outdated pics, the residence there were step up/down to the washer and refrigerator room and hallway to the 2nd bedroom, also a step up/down to the 1st bedroom which looked out the the beautiful pond (minus the tall grass and windows so dirty the view was downgraded. the pool appeared to be abondened and not functional as were the coffee pot, several track lights out, several tiles lifted up in the living room, etc. The adjoining property had lots of stuff strune about in the side and rear yards. It appears no one had used the condo for some time. On the VRBO website every review was a "10" but also at least 2 years old.However the host was very pleasent but the advertised description was anything but "Scenic, upscale country living". I would describe it as "rustic, unkept, looks like her glory days are past" If you are mobility impaired click to another listing."

I sent photos of the three entry steps to the cottage before this couple booked. There are two additional 4 inch step ups inside the cottage, and after over 100 stays no one has ever even mentioned them. FYI, the cottage has been occupied regularly over the past five years, with over 100 stays, with a 4.89 out of 5 rating on Airbnb. It was thoroughly cleaned before their visit, but admittedly the OUTSIDE of some windows were not cleaned recently. However, they are not significantly dirty. These senior guests gave me no indication of dissatisfaction. There is an issue with some track lights that I am awaiting an electrician to repair. After five years of regular occupancy (almost all on Airbnb) I have never had a similar review.

Our hosts property was quite comfortable with a patio overlooking a beautiful pond. I would definitely stay there again

Mardi Gras Lafayette

After a rocky start- no propane to heat water and fuel stove for cooking - everything was perfect. Stephen was very prompt to respond to our every need. He also gave us a partial refund for our inconvenience- very fair deal. Lovely view of pond populated with several ducks. Lots of activities and fabulous restaurants within 20 minutes driving time.

Cottage on the lake

This property is absolutely beautiful! Great for relaxing and if you like to fish just walk out your door. We will be back!!!

Beautiful, peaceful property

Beautiful, peaceful property with the feeling of getting away from it all, while just a short drive to all the places you want to go. Loved the comfortable bedrooms and the sofa facing the picture window, giving you a view of water, birds and trees. We'll be going back!

A true gem!

This was a lovely setting and perfect for what I was looking for so sad that emergency family issues cut my visit short the hosts were so accommodating and sweet just super nice people!!
