We’re so glad you found the condo unit clean, comfortable, affordable, and equipped with everything you needed for a beach getaway. And yes, being right on the beach is definitely hard to beat! We’re sorry the water odor was a negative during your stay. Surfside’s water can occasionally have a noticeable sulfur-like odor, particularly during the warmer months. While it certainly isn’t the most glamorous part of coastal living, the water is treated and safe for bathing, and as you mentioned, it still gets the job done! We really appreciate you understanding that this is a comfortable, no-frills beach stay rather than a luxury resort, and we’d be happy to have you back for another dose of sand, sun, and Gulf air!

We're so glad our beachfront location and responsive crew were highlights, even if your vacation included an unexpected lockout adventure. We're always happy to help get guests back to enjoying the beach. We appreciate you bringing the deck boards to our attention. Living directly on the Gulf means salt air, humidity, UV, and storms keep us on our toes. The owner of this building has already addressed the boards you mentioned. Safety is always our top priority. As for the water, that's the municipal water throughout Surfside Beach. It does have naturally occurring minerals that can give it a different color and aroma than guests may be accustomed to. Coastal living certainly has its own personality! The occasional adventurous bug can also wander indoors despite our regular professional pest control, especially in a beachfront environment. And yes, homes on stilts near the water have a little more "sea legs" than a typical house. A gentle sway during heavy footsteps or strong coastal winds is actually part of their engineering, though we agree the chatty bedroom door could be a bit more discreet. We're glad you enjoyed the location and our communication. We hope you'll visit again for another dose of beach life, complete with the best parts of the coast and a few fewer surprises
