Unwind in Surfside Beach at this lovely cottage. Awesome view of the ocean from the deck- set back so you can enjoy your privacy. This cozy retreat features a tropical bedroom with a king bed and a bunk bed for the little ones, perfect for a serene night's sleep. The living room offers a cool space to relax & has a sofa bed for additional guests. Enjoy Gilligans' amazing ocean side deck & bar where you can relax, and listen to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, There is also a fenced pet yard with a comfortable sitting area so you can chill with your furry friends.AC, WiFi, and a washer / dryer insure a hassle-free stay. We're happy to assist with any questions during your stay in paradise.........

Perfect little place for me and my husband and the doggos. Easy access to the beach. The only improvement I can suggest is a water softener.

We are so pleased with our stay. Our host was communicated well with us as we had several questions about our dogs. We had a wonderful time. We had good access to the beach. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The dogs were comfortable as well and having the fenced in area was great. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The beach house was clean and comfortable. It is so close to the beach! The host was excellent at communicating and responding. The house is on a quiet street, and there is even a snack shop and restaurant close enough that we walked to them. The deck is a great spot to enjoy sunrise and sunset. We loved it!

Nice and cozy beach bungalow with everything provided for a comfortable stay. Especially nice that it's pet friendly. The beach is a very short walk away and there's a great view from the side deck.We would definitely come back for another wonderful stay.

Enjoyed the deck spaces so much, with high chairs in shade with great breeze to beat the July heat, and the comfortable, colorful bench to watch the sun rise. The yard was excellent for my dogs, so safe. Inside was spacious and well stocked. A thoughtful host was evident.

It was close to everything and it was very important for us to have an area for our dogs to get out and play. We were close to family and it made it convenient!

We had a wonderful time here on our first vacation as a family of three! We felt so comfortable in this space and really appreciated how accommodating the host was!Just steps from the beach, had everything we could need, and the fenced yard was wonderful for bringing our dog. We'd love to come back one day!

Was a last minute booking and needed pet friendly. Great location, my only negative would be It didn’t have a grill and the washer didn’t work. Other than that it had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again but will take a grill.

Relaxing stay right off the beach

Cute little beach house with a view of field of wildflowers and walkway leading to the beach! Very clean, had everything we needed. The house is so close to the beach you can see it from the porch! If you are picky about drinking water, bring it with you.

Love this sweet little house!

Wake up to coffee on the deck, seeing and hearing the surf. Very short walk to the beach. Cottage is comfy, cozy and well equipped. Host most helpful and available. We look forward to staying again.

4th of July

It was a great time in Surfside. Gilligan's Beach Hut was perfect for our needs. For the 4th we didn't have to fight the crowds for beach space because we could observe from afar. We could come and go as we pleased and had a perfect little retreat to come back to.

Gilligans Beach Hut was excellent and just what I was looking for for a couple of days away from the Houston craziness where we could take our dog swimming in the Gulf and let her run on the beach. Big shouts out to Kevin for allowing us to get in early (although we didn't really need to, as we ended up leaving for lunch in Galveston about 45 minutes later than planned) and the next door neighbors (who take care of the house) for being generous, kind, and a font of knowledge. (As has been mentioned in other posts, the tap water isn't drinkable, but the neighbors referred to city hall (?) nearby where you could get unlimited filtered water; we didn't need it as our three gallons of spring water were more than enough for "man and beast" for our stay.)We greatly prefer Surfside over Galveston because it's calmer and friendlier, and if you go I highly recommend the Beach Front Deck Bar and Grill (walkable; 3 drafts all day) and the Seahorse Bar & Grill, which is part of the Ocean Village Hotel (we've never seen it so packed!). Gilligans was a short walk to the beach, and Kevin provides a wagon that is perfect for hauling your umbrella, chairs, cooler, etc. down to the water. Definitely recommend.P.S. One interesting note: Google Maps shows 127 Beachcomber as being the last house before the water, but there is a newly-built house at 123, so you don't have a direct line of sight to the Gulf. Not a big deal, just an FYI. (I suspect it won't be long before someone builds 121.)
