This cottage is such a beautiful place with amazing views! We didn’t want to leave the back porch. We enjoyed s’mores and even got to see fireflies! It is very well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen and even had antibacterial hand soap in the bathrooms. The host is top notch! We will definitely be back.

The entire house was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The kitchen was well equipped, and the cupboards were all labeled with the contents. All light switches were also labeled and there were many nightlights throughout the house. Having both a large dining room table and a smaller breakfast table was helpful. We were just two older couples who wanted to play games, so the breakfast table was perfect for that. It was too hot for us to make much use of the spacious back deck, but we really enjoyed the comfortable seating in both the living room and the den. The many windows provided a pleasant view of the surrounding mountains. In cooler weather, the gas fireplace between the living room and the den would be great, but we had no reason to use it on our visit. I was extremely pleased with the communication with our contact person. The only challenge for us octogenarians were the stairs that one had to climb to get to the bedrooms, but we managed.

Wedding memories

The cabin was in a great location with beautiful views all around. It felt comfortable and homey like we were staying at a family home. It was great and I would definitely recommend if you need or want to go to that area in VA.

Amazing log cabin with a full timber interior. Beds were some of the most comfortable we've had after many rentals. Quiet and secluded location with plenty of room for 6 folks or more. We really enjoyed how dark the nights were and well appointed the rooms and lounge areas were. The management and checkin processes were simple and easy to communicate with. We would recommend and will be back

Peaceful Get Away

Serenity Sanctuary

Beautiful serene property offers gorgeous views and refreshing space. The house is clean and spacious allowing everyone to have both their own space and an opportunity to spend time together. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Great house in perfect location for us! Booking and communication was seemless. The only reason not 5 stars is, we planned on grilling steaks, and the grill was not operable. It was a little disappointing but we went to plan B Overall great place and would stay again.

Cozy cabin get adventure

We enjoyed ourselves very much. Communication with the owner was seamless and easy. Property was a wonderful location with the backdrop of the mountains. Our family loved the house. It Provided a perfect Place for us to call home for a few days stay in Shenandoah Area. We look forward to an opportunity to stay here in the future.

Peaceful VMI Family Weekend

Our stay for VMI Family Weekend was peaceful and relaxing. The cabin is comfortable and definitely accommodates a family of 9. The property is beautiful with views of the mountains. The neighborhood is quite and being in Raphine helped to escape the busyness of Lexington during the VMI Family Weekend. We would wholeheartedly recommend staying in this cabin!

Raphine Retreat

Fantastic house in a beautiful area 23 minutes from Lexington. Lots of yard and games for the kids. Coordination with the host was fantastic and effortless from start to finish. We hope to return soon!

VMI Graduation

Great place to stay for a VMI graduation or other activity. The house allowed space outside for outdoor games while others sat on the deck and talked. Easy drive to and from VMI (25 minutes) and even closer to Devils Backbone Brewery. Great view of the mountains from the deck. Very relaxing location.

Raphine visit

We stayed at this property for the 2025 Washington and Lee graduation. It was the perfect choice because it provided a place to relax with grandparents and our family. The property and house was magnificent with great views of the mountains. The house was spacious and just made you feel at home. The hosts were responsive but not intrusive. Our only regret is that we did not find this property sooner in our 4 years worth of travel back and forth to Lexington.
