This was our favorite VRBO stay ever. The cottage is so comfy and Valerie and Craig and the most amazing hosts. Meeting them was truly the cherry on top to an already perfect stay! Wonderful views and everything you could possibly need. Hope we can come back one day.

My husband and I had a marvelous stay at Valerie’s cottage for a week. Everything was clean and comfortable and the location was close to what we wanted to do. She provided a generous variety of snacks and was readily available for communication. Just a minute’s walk away is a small beach where turtles come to rest. We highly recommend a stay here.

Very comfortable stay. Several restaurants and beaches nearby. Beautiful property and very accommodating host. We would definitely book again.

Incredible lanai ocean views, tropical flora and fauna. Walking a short way to the beachfront lawn and watching the sunset and ocean life was wonderful. Valerie and Craig could not have been more hospitable. This is a great find near Paia! Charming cottage, great kitchen and views from the bedroom were all pluses.

Valerie’s cottage is very well kept and furnished. Rarely do we fun a good sharp knife and cutting board in a rental kitchen! Our hosts were attentive and very helpful. The views are outstanding.

Best cottage getaway in Maui!

We loved our stay here! Perfect location I’m Maui to do so many of the things we wanted! Valarie & Craig live on the property too which we didn’t know but wasn’t a problem at all! They were so nice & let us eat all the oranges off their trees that we wanted :)

Great views! Perfect stay for a couple.

I found the place even better than photos! Road noise was no issue. We really enjoyed the deck off the unit and its amazing views of the ocean. Valerie was a great host.

Mesmerizing location

We had a wonderful time at Maui by the Sea. Great location to Paia, the road to Hana, and numerous beaches. Relaxing views and a great place to unwind. Valerie and Craig were exceptionally welcoming and supportive. You could not pick a better place in Maui.

Paia magic

Wonderful little cottage - perfect for us two. Location is great for cyclists and kiters like us . Stunning ocean views. Wonderful hosts. Everything you need in this well equipped place in paradise. 5 Stars all around.

Maui By The Sea

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to stay. The ocean in front of you. The beautiful beaches and so close to downtown Paia. Everything about this was excellent. The owner of the property was so helpful and nice. She and her husband are locals and are right on the property so that was also very helpful. A beautiful little getaway that was perfect.

This property exceeds every expectation. My partner and I were utterly spoiled staying here. Valerie Craig made us feel at home with this amazing accommodation, which served as our private nirvana during our stay on Maui. The property's fruits were delicious, and the ocean view made us want to stay for the duration of our trip. We had many lovely BBQ meals on the balcony. We truly felt like we hit the jackpot by staying here.

Perfect cottage for your vacation in Paia

Loved our stay! Especially the view of the ocean from the bed and deck, the full sized kitchen, BBQ and covered deck enabled us to prepare our own meals nightly. Hosts are very helpful, generous and kind. Excellent location for enjoying Mama's Fish House and Paia town. The only complaint our entire stay is we found the mattress too soft for our preference. The ocean view seating in the front the property is spectacular! We would return!

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We are blessed with a great view. And the cottage having a covered lanai allows our guests to enjoy every meal outdoor, rain or shine. This week, we are having a guest who brought with him his memory foam padding just in case the mattress would be too firm for him. And he has been using it!!! We wish we could have the universal mattress to please everyone. For this reason each time we buy a new mattress we have to choose one that is neither too firm nor too soft. Aloha!

Perfect cottage and delightful hosts!

Valerie and Craig (owners) have raised the “host” bar; they both truly embrace the meaning of “Aloha.” The property and cottage are very well maintained with all the comforts of home. Now, let’s talk view- Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! It was a relaxing week of fun, excellent food, conversation and at day’s end it was a joy to return to “Maui by the Sea.” Truly.

Above our expectations

My wife and I spent 2 weeks in March 2011 at Maui by The Sea. It was a wonderful time. The house is really well decorated & perfectly equipped. Every detail has been looked after and we just found ourselves almost better than at home...It was really hard to leave, although we feel privileged to be living in a beautiful city like Barcelona (Spain). The view is astonishing, the privacy complete, the location just perfect. Thanks for the great experience!

An amazing, relaxing and truly Hawaiian experience

Valerie and Craig are the ultimate hosts! This beautiful ocean view cottage was exactly what we were looking for when we decided to stay in Paia. Both were available and willing to offer advice or ask if we needed anything. The cottage was well stocked with all the conveniences of home and the attention to little touches did not go unnoticed. We did not want to leave! We will be back. Thank you for sharing your amazing home!

Cottage in Paia with a view

Valerie's cottage overlooks a beautiful topical oasis and full ocean view. The cottage was tastefully designed and just the right size for two. There were views from every window and a wonderful deck to enjoy our home made meals. The location was perfect to easily get to town, beaches, wonderful restaurants, and all that the North Shore has to offer. Although, it was hard to venture out as I could have stayed the whole vacation right there at the cottage. Valerie and Craig were also very helpful and a joy to know. We are already looking at our calendar to plan a return trip. Mahalo to our wonderful hosts!
