This cabin is so nice and the views are incredible! Everything was super clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, and the grill on the back porch worked great! We didn't have a chance to use the outdoor fireplace but it was really neat. I can see why a 4x4 is recommended but we didn't have any problems traveling to and from the cabin. Our family, including little ones, enjoyed and we hope to visit again!

Great property

Because of road damage be advised roads are rough and may require 4wd in snow times. Read owners directions . Once there you will not be disappointed!

Mtn Getaway

These were wonderful accommodations! Very well equipped and comfortable. However. A strong suggestion to drive an SUV to access this home. The road is very rough in places and if weather conditions are bad it would be treacherous.

This property has great views of the mountains in a secluded location. Everything was clean and worked well. The back deck is very spacious and offers amazing views at all times of the day. Very comfy beds, hot water and good water pressure. HVAC worked as it should and the kitchen is better equipped than most rentals. While I brought some of my own kitchen equip, they had everything I needed. The pics on the website are accurate. There is about a mile of gravel road leading to the property. I have an AWD and had no issues. A car can manage in normal/dry conditions but with any significant precipitation traction may be an issue. Great location that I already miss.....

The gas fireplace didn’t work right and beeped loudly from embarkation to debarkation. I messaged the host about it and he was less than helpful. I wanted to make a fire outside and the lighter that was in the kitchen had no fuel. The igniter on the grill didn’t work, and once again, the lighter didn’t either. The downstairs heat won’t get above about 67 degrees. The plug and play music for the porches and house doesn’t work. You better bathe together if you want enough hot water. The scenery was okay. Don’t go in winter without four wheel drive.

Beautiful house

This was our second time staying at this house. We stayed there a couple of years ago also. We came back for the view and the outdoor fireplace. I would suggest they add a Keurig coffee maker and a mattress topper for the master. The mattress was a bit stiffer than I remember. It is a beautiful home! There was a water leak coming from the upstairs shower on Sunday morning leaking down thru the master ceiling. I called and notified Carolina Cabin Rentals. We are assuming the drain had to have a clog in it. We couldn't use the upstairs shower after that so the 3 people upstairs had to also use our shower. That was a bit aggravating having 5 people sharing one shower. Thank you for your comments. The owner has added a Kuerig cofffe maker and a memory foam mattress topper on the bed in the master bedroom. --- MGT

Home away from home

This is our second year at Outlook at Valle Crucis. it is our home away from home. it is a beautiful cabin, very well stocked, and tastefully decorated. The view is spectacular. we will never stay anywhere else when visiting the NC Highlands. Thank you!!

Beautiful views

We had a wonderful time in Banner Elk at this beautiful property. The views were incredible. The location of the home is down a long gravel road with some turns and twists so just prepare yourself and you will be perfectly fine.

Beautiful Home

This house was beautiful and had a lot of nice features. We definitely enjoyed the well stocked kitchen. The fireplace outdoors was a nice addition however, we were told by the property mgr that we had to pay for a min of 5 days of wood, at a premium price, in order to use it. It turns out, that the owners provide wood for half the price on the honor system, for each time we used it, but we weren't informed of this. It would have been nice as we couldn't use the fireplace each night. The pictures show a hammock on the deck but there wasn't one and I was looking forward to lying in it all week. We all agreed that more chairs on the deck would be nice, as the high ones that go with the high top table aren't comfortable for long periods of time to enjoy the view. We certainly enjoyed the many blankets for being couch potatoes to watch the large tv. And they aren't kidding when they warn you of the steep roads to get there! Even with all these things, we had a lovely time and highly recommend it.

Blissful and Beautiful

Our family had such an incredible stay at the Valle Crucis Overlook. This is a stunning cabin, with inspiring natural wood craftsmanship that had our whole family marveling at the aesthetics and the feel. Coupled with the outdoor fireplace and the scenic views (which we enjoyed with a snowfall), we could not have asked for a more memorable experience. This is a cabin that inspires long discussions by the fire and shared meals that last hours. Could not be happier with this property and overall experience.

Paradise in the snow!

We’re from Florida, and since our kids have never seen falling snow before, we were hoping to see some, and boy did we get to experience a true “winter wonderland” in the most beautiful, comfortable, fully-supplied (with modern, top-notch amenities) cabin ever! The view (both snowless and leafless trees, as well as the magical snowy panorama) leaves you breathless and renewed, the location is just right - not too far from the bigger towns (Boone, Banner Elk) and not too close to neighbors, so serene and beautifully landscaped. Inside, the inviting soaring fireplace keeps you cozy and together with the family. Kids loved the bunk beds and took over the 2nd FL with the lovely nook. We loved every moment there! Close to ski slopes too (30-45min away), and the street in front was perfect for an impromptu sledding! Even in blizzard weather, we just wanted to stay there forever! Can’t wait to see the place during the summer months!

Comfy and Cozy Mountain House with Amazing Views

Very nice house up in the mountains with amazing views. It is a 12 minute or so drive up the mountain off the main road. Everything was clean and as pictured. Lots of restaurants within 20 - minutes too. Will definitely look to come back.

Great Place!

Very nice cabin, great views and location, cabin was very spacious and had all you needed. Would recommend if you want a great get away and nice cabin this is it.
