Chalet charmant et joliment proportionné ....

Vinewood est un charmant cottage joliment décoré situé dans un environnement rural sur une jolie route B, juste à la frontière de Surrey et de Kent. Construit dans les années 1880 et récemment rénové, le Vinewood est pratique et accueillant. Il comprend une grande cuisine, un salon confortable, trois chambres, un parking extérieur et un coin salon couvert donnant sur un grand jardin offrant une vue dégagée sur la campagne.

Entouré de terres agricoles et de sentiers, Vinewood est situé juste à côté de Vanguard Way, un sentier menant à travers les terres agricoles et continuant jusqu’à Dry Hill, dont le sommet se trouve au loin derrière le cottage, marqué par une rangée de peupliers. Il y a beaucoup de promenades longues et courtes donc le chalet est idéal pour les randonneurs avec ou sans chiens.

La région regorge de nombreux sites historiques à visiter, notamment le château de Hever, Chartwell, Sheffield Park et Wakehurst Place. La ville d'Edenbridge est à cinq minutes
En voiture, il y a de nombreux bâtiments en bois médiévaux dans la ville, dont l'un abrite le musée Eden Valley. La ville d'East Grinstead, située à seulement quinze minutes de route, abrite de nombreux bâtiments historiques et abrite également un musée. Au sud-est de la ville se trouve la forêt Ashdown. Il s’agit d’une ancienne zone de landes tranquilles et ouvertes qui occupe la plus haute arête sablonneuse de la zone de beauté naturelle exceptionnelle High Weald.

C'est un endroit idéal pour se promener et profiter de vues spectaculaires sur la campagne du Sussex. Il est connu dans le monde entier comme le «chez-soi» de Winnie l'ourson. Vous pouvez même jouer à Pooh Sticks on Pooh Bridge.

La charmante ville thermale de Tunbridge Wells se trouve à trente minutes de route. Vous pourrez y visiter le célèbre Pantiles avec son élégant passage couvert à colonnades et ses boutiques insolites, puis rejoindre son centre commercial complet. Il y a beaucoup de boutiques et de restaurants intéressants.

Great getaway

Very relaxing stay

Short break to visit family and friends

This is a really welcoming, cosy and clean property, a real home from home. It is situated on the Vanguard Way with lovely walks directly from the cottage. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely re-book next time we are visiting the area. Melanie is a great host and responds very quickly to answer any questions you might have.

Our stay with Melanie in the cottage was very nice. The house is very lovingly furnished and the garden is ideal for dogs or small children, as no one can run away. Melanie is a very nice hostess and makes life in her house easier with her small notes on many objects. She makes our Stay completet.

Great Holiday Week

We all enjoyed staying in this lovely cottage. Melanie is very friendly and gives very helfpful advices. The house is very well decorated from her and all looks like shown in the pictures. The region is great for visiting London, Dover, Brighton, Seven Sisters, Winnie Pooh and much more.

October half term break Edenbridge

Lovely cottage with direct access to numerous footpaths. Lots of places to visit locally we went to Knowle, Chartwell, Standen, Heaver, Ingram Moat and two 15 plus mile plus off road cycle ways either side of East GRINSTEAD. Local pub also provides excellent Thai food or English if you prefer with local ales for good measure. Great week for the family

Brilliant stay

Everything was lovely. The only niggling things were the bedroom doors didnt shut properly and it would of been nice to have a tv in the bedrooms so we could have some down time from family members also the broadband was very very slow plus side lovely views big kitchen for cooking our christmas family dinner and new years day Could do with a grab rail on the area of entering the property and also a outside light to guide you to the front door from the car

Week visiting friends

We had a good stay at Melanie's property. Melanie was extremely communicative and flexible. She lives next door, so was on-hand for any questions. The house was clean and well-provisioned for linen, kitchen-equipment, etc, although it didn't have basic comestibles (handwash, shower gel, salt, pepper, washing-up liquid), which we've commonly found at other rental properties. It was well set-up for a family: double room, twin room and a single room. Modern bathroom and kitchen. Good patio and garden space with outdoor furniture. The location is a short drive to any shops etc, but you couldn't walk to the nearest shops. It is situated next to a footpath so you can walk/hike on footpaths directly from the property. It's well situated for both Lingfield and Edenbridge stations, which serve London. Overall, I would recommend this property.

Handwash and Washing-up Liquid ARE supplied as are Surface Cleanser and Dishwasher Tablets. There was salt in the cupboard. This guest must have missed them. . People tend to bring their own Shampoo and Shower Gel. The cottage supplies a couple of Loo Rolls to start off with, please supply your own if you need more. I will make sure there is a supply of pepper.

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit im Vinewood Cottage. Das Haus ist ein sehr hübsches typisch englisches Wohnhaus. Vor allem die große Wohnküche und der große Garten haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Für uns und unseren Hund war vor allem die nahezu autofreie Umgebung im Hinterland perfekt, um schöne Spaziergänge zu machen. Durch die Nähe zum Bahnhof Lingfield konnten wir problemlos Tagesausflüge nach London mit dem Zug machen.Melanie war eine sehr nette Gastgeberin, die uns bei Bedarf viele gute Tipps für Ausflüge, Restaurantbesuche und den dortigen ÖPNV gegeben hat.

I have lived next door to Vinewood for 24 years. My friend and neighbour Pamela Vine lived in it for 40 years. When she passed away I bought the cottage from her grandchildren, named it after her and renovated and refurbished it. I grew up within the Surrey Hills in Dorking and count myself lucky to have now lived in two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. I hope you find this area as beautiful as I do.

I have never tired of living here. I have always owned dogs and walk the many and varied footpaths around here every day. Set apart from the village of Marsh Green, Vinewood offers peace and quiet, lovely surroundings and a warm and cosy atmosphere.
