Wayside Cottage Maison de vacances

Wayside Cottage est une propriété en bout de terrasse datant de 150 ans située dans le village historique de St Osyth. Il est situé entre le centre du village, où vous trouverez toutes les commodités nécessaires, et le lac, où vous trouverez des activités nautiques, des promenades pittoresques et des balades à vélo. Le chalet a été entièrement rénové pour conserver toutes les caractéristiques originales originales des plafonds décalés, des vieilles poutres apparentes et des portes d'entrée originales. Les chambres sont confortables et invitantes.

Notre pittoresque cottage pourra accueillir confortablement quatre personnes. Cependant, nous pouvons en accueillir cinq en ajustant le lit simple, dans la chambre 2, pour qu'il devienne un double. Nous pouvons fournir une chaise de salle à manger supplémentaire ou une chaise haute si nécessaire.

Nous fournirons des provisions de petit-déjeuner continental, suffisantes pour votre première matinée, comprenant thé, café, lait, petite sélection de céréales, jus d'orange, pain, beurre et confiture.
Il y a un barbecue au charbon de bois dans le stockage extérieur pour votre usage dans le magnifique jardin.

À votre arrivée, vous trouverez une bouteille de vin réfrigérée dans le réfrigérateur pour vous accueillir au Wayside Cottage.

Nous sommes très amis des chiens et notre Hugo (chocolat Labrador) adore les promenades locales, alors veuillez apporter le vôtre et profiter des fantastiques promenades disponibles.
Nous vivons à seulement quelques kilomètres sur la route et pouvons vous conseiller sur la région, les restaurants, les promenades à chiens, les balades à vélo, les excursions à proximité des plages, des villages et bien sûr de Dedham the Constable Country, etc.
Vous pouvez louer du wakeboard, du kayak et du paddle-board sur le lac local situé à seulement 1 minute à pied. Vous y trouverez non seulement deux câbles de wakeboard avec sauts, mais également le plus grand parcours d'obstacles gonflable dans l'eau de l'Essex! !

La paroisse de St Osyth se vantant d'être la région la plus aride du Royaume-Uni et recevant en moyenne 507 mm de pluie par an un prieuré et une histoire de sorcière, il devrait y avoir beaucoup de choses à faire pour vous divertir :)

Fantastic stay!

An amazing well equipped cottage. Hosts were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Would highly recommend for a family break with your four legged fur baby :-). Lots of lovely walks and the nearby water park was a hit with the braver members of the family. They also do great coffee and cake.

Cottage getaway

We had a wonderful stay at Wayside cottage. The hosts really did go above and beyond. The cottage was cosy and situated in a lovely village. It was spotless and the attention to detail was spot on. We would love to stay here again.

Lovely, peaceful getaway

Perfect location for quiet holiday

This cottage is perfect for a quiet getaway. It is clean and has many little extras included that you would not expect. Lovely garden which is very secure. St Osyth is a little village with some good dog walks. The hosts have thought of everything to help you have a good holiday.

Brilliant Cottage

Everything about the cottage was wonderful. Lovely extra touches such as wine in fridge along with everyday essentials - milk, bread etc. Excellent value for money with all bed linen and towels included. The robes and toiletries made it feel like a hotel stay! Nicely placed for exploring area. Would highly recommend.

Peaceful, cosy cottage

Like home from home & very comfortable. Lots of extras provided. Eg bread, milk, tea. Street parking a little difficult but owner had sorted parking arrangements with a nearby local business. Good location to explore Essex coast.

Great cottage

Communication from the owners is very good from the start and all way through. Very clean and comfortable. Large garden that's not overlooked. Few minutes into town.beds all comfortable. Only stayed 2 nights but still got welcome pack with wine . Can't find fault.

Cute little cottage

Enjoyed our stay, cottage is welcoming and attention to detail appreciated. Very clean and everything you need is thought of. Garden is nice and well kept. Only down side is having no parking, but owner has arranged parking at nearby water park, but this was a little problematic for us. There is quite a bit of road noise as it’s on a relatively busy road, but maybe we notice it more as we live in a very rural location with no traffic and are not used to it. But would def stay again, thank you.

A perfect time away

Thank you Suzanne and John for a perfect stay. Very good pre-stay communication, directions and access to the cottage. Also for the provisions for breakfast - orange juice, tea/coffee, milk, bread and butter and a bottle of wine. We arrived on the day of the Queens funeral so this was very appreciated. The Cottage was great for us and also the secure garden for our dogs. We look forward to returning and highly recommend Thank you for a great stay Jo, Rob, Jenny and the dogs Thomas and Harvey

Fantastic cottage

Had a lovely stay here for 2 nights despite the awful weather. The cottage was clean, homely and everything you need. Right down to brand new toothbrushes. Communication with the owners was fantastic. Only downfall for me was the noise of passing traffic. Although not terribly busy was still quite loud even of a night, I am a very light sleeper though Beautiful walks and short distance to beach.

Cozy, Welcoming - Great Hosts

We booked last minute to get out of the bustle of the city. Suzanne and John were really thoughtful in sharing that there was unexpected roadwork outside the cottage, giving us the opportunity to find another place to stay but we decided to go ahead and are so glad that we did. The cottage is comfortable and quaint with all the amenities you need to relax. The cottage is walking distance to local cafes, restaurants, and bars. It was great for a weekend away and exactly what we needed. Definitely on our list to revisit, thanks for having us!

Cosy cottage

Very pleasant and comfortable long weekend stay. Suzanne & John made us feel very much at home, meeting all our needs and very easy to contact. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped, including a decent sized and well maintained garden. The 'goodies' there on our arrival were well appreciated. As stated in the listing, the road is fairly heavily used but the noise was not intrusive and S&J have arranged for very suitable nearby parking. We are already looking to return

Outstanding Cottage

This cottage was perfect. It was very clean. All the little extras that are included are very much appreciated and there was much more than we expected, even dog towels to dry your pet in case you don't have any. St Osyth is a lovely village, very peaceful and we found some good dog walks and is only a short drive to Clacton and Colchester. The garden is very secure as our dog is only little but there was nowhere for him to get out. The owners were very helpful and we hope to stay again.

Hi, I am John and my wife is Suzanne. We have lived in the Parish of St Osyth for 10 years now with our family and chocolate lab Hugo.
I grew up locally and have known St Osyth and Point Clear through my passions for sports, mainly on the water all my adult life. This includes Water skiing on Mill Dam lake back in the 80's and now Wakeboarding on the lake at the newly opened Curve Wakepark . Also windsurfing at Pointers and waterskiing/wakeboarding in the back waters of Brightlingsea on my own boats over the years. I am now trying out the kiteboarding at the local well known Martello Beach in Clacton On Sea ( I have all the gear but no idea YET !!) with help from the local instructors at Zenith kite board instructors
We both love regular local walks along the beach and back waters with Hugo and bike rides along the river Colne to Wivenhoe and the Rose and Crown Pub for a re-hydration and feed stop.
My youngest daughter has a passion for horse riding, so we find ourselves at the local Brook Farm Riding stables quite often.
In Winter I go to the alps for skiing when work permits, for a living I am a Plumber and Heating engineer and run my small company Aquaheat (east Anglia) Ltd.
Suzanne drove past Wayside Cottage and saw the 'For Sale' sign in front of the property. We viewed it and could see that with a lot of work it would be a perfect holiday let. We have very much enjoyed the journey renovating and furnishing the cottage and look forward to welcoming guests to our lovely part of Essex.
