Great spot for Turtle and Whale Watching

We spent 10 days in this bright and clean condo. The best part was sitting on the deck with views of the ocean. Perfect for turtle and whale watching!

Lovely condo

This condo is lovely and nicely updated, much nicer than some of the other units I had viewed. There is no a/c; however, the sea breeze when the windows and sliding door is open is nice. At times I was a little chilly. Nice loft upstairs with adjoining bathroom and bedroom downstairs was nice. The only complaint I have are the ants. Tiny black ants are all over the place. I communicated this with the owner and they were quick to send someone to spray the unit. While I applaud the effort, the ants remained. They didn't bite, but we had to make sure we put all food away and wash our trash to minimize their presence. They were also in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Just pesky! Overall, we enjoyed our stay, great communication. We would actually stay again.

Great place to stay near Lahaina!

Everything we wanted to do we could find 10 min away or less (except surfing which was 30 min away). We went further to do some sightseeing but enjoyed seeing turtles in the backyard, eating breakfast on the lanai and using the pool daily to swim. It was a busy time at the condos but still quiet and relaxing! Will def stay again if we end up in Maui!

Amazing views

What lovely place! Everything and more as listed! Amazing views and short walk or drive to the beach. It does not have ac but only gets a little warm in the loft from 3-6pm. The nights are cool. The property is lush and a nice l pool. I would stay again.

Best stay in Maui

We had a wonderful stay at Hale Honu! We were welcomed with a personalized note, pineapple, banana bread and great local coffee! The location is ideal and the home is very clean and luxurious. We could see whales from the lanai and the green sea turtles nearby were a great surprise! The kids loved the pool right outside and there were boogie boards and beach toys/chairs that we took to the nearby beaches a few minutes away. We had a wonderful stay and we will definitely be visiting again! Kalyanpur Family

Not a good experience

I stayed at this unit at Marina Surf for a total of 10 days. We are somewhat a bigger family of 5 so the space was a little small but still ended up working. FIRST OFF EVERYBODY NEEDS TO KNOW THIS UNIT DOES NOT HAVE A/C , it is very humid and hot and it was very hard to deal with having no AC. The washer and dryer are all the way on the other side of complex and cost $ 1.50 a load which was super inconvenient because by the time my wife had done 2 loads she was sweating bullets and had very little breeze during the day to cool Her down. The unit does have some breeze come thru but not during 9A- 6pm it was hard to be at the unit we had to occupy our time doing activities which was fine but still was tough to deal with. Secondly I have a 7 and 6 yr old and they could not even act like kids because there was somebody complaining from dusk to dawn , I had a total of 3 complaints of noise ( remind u if u sneeze somebody will complain because everybody has windows open and sliding door because there is no AC. If you have kids this is not the place to be, it was full of people 50 yrs and over definitely not a spot if you have Kids. I have no problem with the quiet time at 10 pm we did not make any noise but still got random complaints. SMH.. Also the ceiling fan in the downstairs bedroom sounds like it is about to fall down and was very hard to get sleep in this room with the constant clicking sound and the heat/humidity and NO AC!!!! It is a good location but not worth the money because when you are in Hawaii you want everybody to have a good time not constantly get complaints of False noise and old grumpy people with nothing better to do then complain about noise from a 7 year old boy . I would not recommend this place to anybody I know and we definitely did not have the experience we were hoping for.

Beautiful place on the ocean!

This place was exceptional! From the gift of a pineapple and banana bread when we arrived, to boogie boards that my children could use, to an excellently well stocked house (dishwasher soap, a week's supply of shampoo, lotion and soap, plenty of dishes and cooking supplies) we couldn't have been happier. There were turtles sleeping on the nearby beach, and waves crashing on the lava rocks right outside the complex. The complex grills we clean and worked wonderfully. We did not use the swimming pool, but it looked clean and many families were using it. The beds were very comfortable, including the pull out couch. Nice location with a 3 minute walk to a sand beach with sea turtles and snorkeling.

Hidden Jem in Paradise

We had such a great trip in Maui at this condo. We rent VRBO frequently and this condo was at the top of our favorites. Christine was very friendly and accommodating. This place was great from the welcoming treats to the organic toiletries, and comfy beds. Perfect location to great restaurants and shopping. The grounds are impeccable and the pool/ grill area was clean. We loved watching the sea turtles everyday right off shore and beaching right off the property. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the open air. At night the large fans are great but during the day it was hot. We stayed out most afternoons to avoid the peak heat of the day. We used the extra floor fan in the bathrooms and took cold showers to work around it. We had quiet neighbors the first half of the trip but then the second half they partied well past quiet time. Having to police our neighbors from smoking and being loud was a bit awkward at the pool the next day. This was a small hiccup but definitely not a trip ruiner. All the other great things about this condo outweighed the open air & inconsiderate neighbors. All in all you can't go wrong with this rental. The views are breathtaking and I think you'd be hard-pressed to find something remodeled like this in this area away from the crowds & "tourist" area.

Amazing, Relaxing, Clean & Wonderful Hosts!!!

Christine and Dan are tremendous hosts and were extremely accommodating. They allowed us to book our stay last minute once we got on Maui and found out the place we originally booked had a double-booking and couldn’t accommodate us. They came to our rescue and saved our Maui vacation! Their condo truly felt like a home away from home. Upon entering the condo you’re greeted with an amazing ocean view with Molokai in the background. The condo was extremely clean and well decorated. Between the comfortable beds and the calming sound of the ocean all four of us slept amazing. It also had all the necessities you would need such as a fully equipped kitchen, beach gear, extra towels, etc. The condo was very spacious and even with our group of 4 adults we all had our own privacy and never felt cramped. If you are visiting Maui, want to instantly relax and unwind look no further - this place is perfect and SO much better than any hotel or resort. We look forward to our next stay there!

AMAZING Views AND FEEL!!

Hale Honu from check in to check out was amazing! The unit is newly renovated and very clean. The Ocean views were amazing seeing the whales swim and breech right out front. The pool is relaxing and we enjoyed the BBQ area daily! The ocean out front has so many turtles we loved watching them. The location is a ideal close to local shopping and restaurants. We look forward to returning next year! Thank you again!
