We had a lovely stay in the villa. Contact was very easy and always a swift reply. We had underestimated how high the villa was located on the mountain, so it was quite a drive up/down. however, the view is very beautiful.

What a truly wonderful time we had at Villa dell'Angelo! We were a family group with my brother and sister-in-law joining my husband and me, together with a gaggle of cousins aged 15-27. The winding drive up the mountain took us to the magical setting of the villa, perched high on the hillside, ensuring its spectacular views. The swimming pool and its glorious view was the obvious gathering point throughout the days, but we also enjoyed all the other spots, eating our lively communal meals at the lovely table on the terrace, or sitting reading under the vines gazing out on the view of the Monastery across the valley. The rooms were all very well appointed, with welcome airconditioning, breath-taking views and interesting decor and architecture. The original olive press and other remnants of oil-production evoked images of the monks who had worked and shared meals there over the hundreds' of years. Our visit to the Monastery was a highlight, and we felt very privileged to meet the Maestro of the Montegral Academy, Gustav Kuhn. Giovanni was so helpful with our check-in, arranging the tour of the Monastery, and with making our stay so comfortable. We must make special mention of Jimmy the gorgeous friendly villa cat, who made sure he was very much part of our party! Thank you for a memorable week; our only regret was not being able to make it two!

Lovely Villa

We had a wonderful stay at this villa. The location was excellent as it was close to the areas we love: Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The rooms were clean and spacious and enough bedrooms for a large family. The only downside was the drive up the mountain to the villa. It was very winding and narrow and would probably not rent there again because of that.

A Perfect Getaway in the Hills Above Lucca – Highly Recommended for Families! We spent 9 wonderful days in this dream villa as two families, with a total of 9 guests. Our expectations were exceeded in every way. The combination of traditional Italian charm and modern comfort absolutely delighted all of us. The Property & Stunning Location Spectacular panoramic views from 300 metres above the Tuscan countryside. A wonderful infinity pool that seems to merge with the surrounding hills and provided the perfect, luxurious way for adults and children alike to cool off after our days exploring the nearby cities. The drive up is an adventure along a typically Italian winding road, but the incredible views and absolute peace and quiet at the top make it completely worthwhile. A perfect base for cultural day trips, with Lucca, Pisa and Florence all within easy reach. A beautifully maintained garden with olive trees and plenty of space for our large group. The Villa & Amenities Tastefully furnished in a rustic style, with beautiful historic wooden ceilings. An excellently equipped kitchen where we could easily cook for 9 people. Very comfortable sleeping arrangements: all bedrooms are equipped with modern air conditioning, which was perfect during the summer temperatures. Great amenities nearby, including several excellent supermarkets. A large and very well-stocked Esselunga supermarket is around 20 minutes away by car, ideal when shopping for a large group. Very clean bathrooms and comfortable beds where we all slept wonderfully. Service & Hospitality from Giovanni & Marco A warm welcome from both hosts, including a bottle of local wine for the adults. Marco gave us some excellent insider tips on the best places to park and family-friendly restaurants in Lucca and Florence. Both Giovanni and Marco were exceptionally helpful, always available and quick to assist us with anything we needed. In Conclusion A huge thank you to Giovanni and Marco from both our families for 9 unforgettable days and their exceptional hospitality! If you are looking for the true Italian Dolce Vita, this is definitely the place. We will definitely be back! Google - Aug - 2026

Elisa and her team were outstanding. They could not do enough to make us feel at home. Whether it was the welcome package or the speedy and effective response to any concerns. Tuscan Hotels will be my first choice for a villa the next time we return to the area. Thank you Elisa!

We had the most wonderful stay at Villa Dell’Angelo! The villa is absolutely stunning – full of Tuscan charm with beautifully restored interiors, spacious rooms, and every comfort you could wish for. The views over the hills, olive groves, and vineyards are breathtaking, and enjoying them from the pool or garden was unforgettable. The house was perfect for our group: plenty of space to relax, cozy common areas, and well-equipped kitchens for shared meals. The garden and private pool were true highlights, and we loved the sense of peace and privacy throughout the property. The location is ideal – tucked away in the hills for tranquility, yet just a short drive to Lucca, Pisa, and even Florence for day trips. Getting there is part of the adventure, and once you arrive, it’s more than worth it! A special thanks to Giovanni, Marco, and the Tuscanhouses team, who were always friendly, attentive, and ready to help. Their warm hospitality made everything smooth and enjoyable. We cannot recommend Villa Dell’Angelo highly enough – it’s the perfect place for a memorable Tuscan holiday, and we truly hope to return very soon!

Review for stay from 13 July 2019 to 20 July 2019

We spent one week in villa Dell'Angelo together with our children and grandchildren, we were 6 adults and 5 young children, we really enjoyed our stay! The road up to the villa is interesting (very steep and winding), but it is well worth it. The villa itself is very large and beautifully renovated, with a large well-kept garden, and with a fantastic view over the plains toward Lucca. The many rooms and large gardens gave everyone privacy when needed. There were separate bathrooms for each bedroom, and one extra. There were dining rooms both upstairs and downstairs, and plenty of plates, glasses, cutlery for each dining room. There were two kitchens (and two dishwashers :-)). The kitchens were equipped with everything necessary, lots of everything - we have never previously rented a villa so well-equipped. Outside there was a long table for meals in the shadow. Some meters away from the main garden was the pool area with the beautiful eternity pool, with sunbeds, chairs and parasols for everyone, outdoor shower and a shaded dining table. In the many garden levels there were also a ping-pong table and a fuss ball table. We all had a fantastic week in this lovely villa!

Lovely Family Venue

This large, comfortable home was the perfect place for our family of 11 for our vacation. Comfortable beds and a well-stocked kitchen were a plus. Bring citronella rings and bug spray as mosquitos are an issue. The view is breathtaking, and the infinity pool is well-kept. There is a caretaker on the property who was helpful, although he doesn't speak English. There is a very large Esselunga grocery store close by that has an extensive variety of both food and non-perishable products. Items are reasonably priced. We love to cook so we appreciated the opportunity to try items not available in American grocery stores. The road to the home is very narrow so take care to use your horn on blind curves, and know that passing an oncoming car can be a bit harrowing. Our only negative experience was with a home chef recommended by the property management. We hired her for an onsite cooking lesson. Without going into detail, in the end the dinner was fine but we wouldn't do it again. We wholeheartedly recommend this property and would most definitely rent it again. Many thanks to Elisa and Iliana for their hospitality.
