Fabulous Farmhouse

The farmhouse is so attractive, beautifully renovated and furnished, and is very comfortable and well supplied. Our group of longtime friends found it an ideal place to gather for several days. It is in such a lovely setting. In addition, our hosts were extremely responsive to any questions we had. It was a delightful experience for our group.

Wonderful house for a UVA reunion

My friends and I rented this house for a UVA reunion weekend. The house is gorgeous and very well maintained. We loved the fire pit in the back, and how close it was to Veritas and Blue Mountain Brewery. We would definitely come back again another time!

Amazing stay in wine country!

We loved the Lewis Catherine House! A group of 11 of us visited for a bachelorette and were beyond pleased with the impeccably decorated, well stocked, spacious, and charming home that Lindsay hosted us in. Location was great, right amongst all the gorgeous wineries and just a 25 minute hop to downtown Charlottesville for fun Saturday night dinner plans. We will definitely be back!

Wine Tasting with Friends

This is house was a perfect fit for a wine weekend get away. We had 4 couples and had plenty of room. The house was immaculate. Each room was so nicely decorated and the fire pit outside was a hit. We will be back again!

UVA Graduation Retreat

This was the perfect venue for our extended family to gather while in town for UVA Graduation. The space easily accommodated orange, multi-generational group. The home was well appointed and we loved the proximity to both Charlottesville and the cideries/wineries. We look forward to having the occasion to return.

50th birthday bash!

What a gorgeous house with the perfect accommodations for our group to celebrate a milestone birthday! We enjoyed the location, so close to the wineries and even a gorgeous hiking trail. The fire pit was a fun place to gather. We enjoyed great meals at the large dining table, and laughed for hours playing games in the living area. Would return in a heartbeat!

Family Gathering

My family traveled from Colorado, Oklahoma and Virginia to gather for a wedding weekend of festivities in Charlottesville and Madison County. We booked this property over a year ago so we could all stay together. We absolutely loved the property, the location, the stunning view and enjoyed our stay. We were in town for a wedding. This gorgeous home was perfect. So much space for all 11 of us. Close to wedding venue. So much land for the little ones to run and play frisbee. The house also had some toys for the kids. We were all so happy. Highly recommend!

Book Club Weekend

My partner and her 9 girlfriends stayed in the Lewis Catherine House for their annual Book Club Weekend! It was the perfect amount of space for everyone— including a dinner table that could sit all 10 of them (plus some)! Super close to wineries and breweries and the Blue Ridge Tunnel (a must do!) is just a few miles down the road! The grounds of the house we beautifully maintained and watching the sunrise on the porch each morning was must! 10/10 recommend!

Family Gathering

The spacious house and location were perfect to relax and visit with family following my husband’s memorial service in the DC area. Generous space for us to prepare and enjoy meals, as well as other living spaces for the 8 of us to visit, read a book, check email and make phone calls. The multiple outdoor areas were a bonus and lured us outdoors to barbecue, sit around the fire pit and rock on the porch. The kitchen is well stocked and Lindsey is an accommodating host! It is also a great base for exploring Charlottesville and nearby vineyards and visiting Monticello. Thank you Lindsey for making our time together so special!

Absolutely the BEST experience I’ve ever had with a rental property. Lindsey went above and beyond to accommodate and make our time at Lewis Catherine House memorable. Property is close to Charlottesville, breweries, Greenwood Grocery, Crozet, UVA, and more— but why leave when you can relax in a rocking chair on the front porch with a cup of coffee watching the cows across the street, watching the stars twinkle by the fire pit, or look out across the back of the property from the all-glass garage door of the “party barn”?! Trust me—You will not regret staying here! Thank you, thank you, Lindsey and crew!

Family Thanksgiving

Our 3 generation family of 7 enjoyed Thanksgiving week at The Lewis Catherine House. Previous reviews have summed it up perfectly. Clean, spacious, and comfortable - so easy to settle right in and feel at home. Great outdoor spaces, especially near the firepit - be sure to bring marshmallows! The owners were very easy to communicate with. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

Fantastic farmhouse in a beautiful setting!

My husband and I stayed here with our group of friends that we travel with. The Lewis Catherine House was well appointed, had a full kitchen with everything we needed to cook meals, had picturesque pastoral views, and was centrally located to a lot of the area's beautiful wineries. Lindsey and her husband were excellent communicators and responded quickly and effectively to a maintenance issue we had during our stay. Would definitely stay again!

Hi! I'm Lindsey. My husband and I went to UVA, moved around the country for several years, and like most UVA, Charlottesvile loving people, found our way back to this gorgeous amazing place! We came to appreciate the areas outside of central Charlottesville when we returned. We love the views, wineries, breweries, restaurants, and most of all the people and community. This home is a dream come true. We have always wanted to provide a place where people can gather together to celebrate special times and enjoy good company. When we first found this home- we were immediately attracted to the large open space, numerous bedrooms and the ability to accommodate parties, weekends away, and a bridal party preparing for the big day. Our families have been completely involved in executing the renovation. The name of the house is a tribute to each of our mothers. We are thrilled to host you and have you stay at the Lewis Catherine house and enjoy a place we love calling home!
