Calme isolée cabane en rondins; la cabine fait partie d'un complexe riverain de 37 acres.

17 cabines individuelles et sĂ©parĂ©es partagent la superficie et 1500 pieds de front de mer (le nĂŽtre est @ la fin d'une route, tout Ă  fait privĂ© et pas de voitures en voiture!). Belles pistes pour la randonnĂ©e / VTT ainsi que la raquette en hiver. Le complexe est sur Goose Pond (qui relie 900 acres Mousam Lake) - notre quai est idĂ©al pour la baignade, la pĂȘche, le kayak, paddle board, etc. Deux kayaks sont fournis pour votre plaisir sur Goose Pond et Mousam Lake!La cabine dispose d'une chambre avec lit queen, 2 chambres loft-chacune avec 2 lits jumeaux, salle de sĂ©jour avec TV satellite, cuisine spacieuse, salle Ă  manger, salle de bain complĂšte (douche), et grand verre de soleil / Ă©cran dans le porche avec salon et salle Ă  manger - avec une belle vue sur Kettle Pond et les bois environnants. Shapleigh est une petite ville tranquille - mais seulement 15 min. Ă  tous vos besoins d'achats.

This is a charming little cabin in the woods on a lake, beautifully furnished and with every convenience! Our family had a fantastic vacation here, we couldn’t have asked for more. The hosts were available and wonderful!!!

The cabin was very nice but the outside was terrible very steep. I was very upset with the dock it was a shared dock and it was quite a ways from where we were staying and also too steep for me to even get down to it. Not to mention the gas grill was very dirty and the 2 propane tanks were empty. So we rented it for a week we got there Sunday and came home Tuesday we had the place to Saturday so we cut our vacation short. We will not be back again to that place and also their was nothing there for my grandkids

Maine 2024

This was our second year at this location and it could not have been better. The area is saturated with beauty. We hiked, kayaked, and had a wonderful time with family. We look forward to returning next year.

Perfect quiet family getaway.

Beautiful cabin located on a very quiet and peaceful set of ponds. Plenty to do at the lakes, kayaking, fishing, swimming, hiking and more. The whole process was so smooth and easy. The host was great to work with and responded almost immediately to any question I had. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway to enjoy the outdoors.

Quiet and homey cabin

Well equipped and decorated. Friendly, helpful hosts who were easy to reach and responsive to our needs/questions. We have rented many cabins (and owned one) and this is one of the best. We visit family in ME and NH regularly and it is nice to have the waterfront area for activities for all ages. We hope to return on future visits!

We love this cabin.

The perfect place for us to relax as well as visiting friends and family who are in the area. This is our second visit. The cabin is welcoming, clean and well equipped. Brett is very accommodating and always available for questions and suggestions for activities in the area. Needless to say, we will be back again.

This cabin was a very relaxing time for my family. We needed to just unwind and it was a quiet retreat for us. The cabin was very clean and beautiful. The sun room (porch) was my favorite place to sit and enjoy morning coffee. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Relaxing in the woods

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. I was scheduled for surgery right after vacation, so the serenity of the place was perfect! It was clean and beautiful inside and out. The only thing I would complain about was the height of the bed! I'm 4'10"!! lol Thanks for a great time!

This was a lovely cabin. We had a wonderful time and really got to relax. Facts: 1. Secluded, as it was listed and which is what we were looking for, it was not. There's a cabin about 10 steps away and another on the other side of it. The kitchen and side windows both look directly at their bedroom. No one was there for the week we were, and we're so thankful for that! 2. Internet is slow, which made streaming difficult. 3. In the listing, the hosts talk about the lake, community, and "our dock." We definitely read it as theirs (as if speaking in the first person). It is not; it's the community's. You have to drive or walk around on the road or through the woods on a little trail. They have no direct access to the lake. 4. There's no community trash dumpster. You have to take your trash to the transfer station, on Tuesday and/or Thursday, if you need to throw it out. Observations and Preferences1. No microwave. Sucks when you eat out and have leftovers. We made do, just something to be aware of. 2. Light switch in the bedroom had to be figured out. We didn't realize until the first wakeup that my phone was plugged into the outlet for the switch. It's on the other side of the room at the head of the bed. 3. That sunset is directly into the house through the sunroom deck. Beautiful, but blinding. No curtains or shades made it impossible to enjoy sitting there.

quiet getaway in nature

There were some inconsistencies between the listing and the property owners' expectations as far as the condition we needed to leave the cabin in upon checking out. We were asked by the owner to wash our own towels and sheets. For the price I feel that all cleaning should have been covered by the owners, especially considering that we were responsible and did not leave the place a mess. We also found out upon arrival that we were responsible to take our own trash and recycling to a waste center. It would have been nice to see that in the listing instead of assuming it'd be provided. It was doubly inconvenient in that the waste center was not open on our departure day and we were supposed to be quarantining and not technically allowed to leave the cabin grounds. The owner let us leave our last day's trash but I felt that the expectations could have been clearer as many of the other listings we viewed were. Advice to the owners, please update the listing to reflect exactly what you require your renters to be responsible including some cleaning and trash. Also, advice to future renters, be advised nearly every dish in the kitchen was filthy and we spent the first 3 hours hand washing and drying. Cups in the cupboard lined with sticky orange juice, pans greasy and stuck on food. I expect that isn't a reflection on the owners but rather the previous renter. Also the bathroom floor was sticky and brown, like faint dried on mud or something, so I washed that upon arrival. This is my first time renting a privately owned cabin so maybe it is normal to find it dirty and to find actual expectations varying from the online listed ones. Just pointing it out in case anyone cares to know. Overall we had a great time and are already considering going back next year, and we recommend this cabin and the area to others.

The best!

This is our second time staying at Bret and Donna’s cabin. It is hands down the best vacation rental we have stayed in. We ran into a slight, unavoidable maintenance issue this time around, and Bret was immediately on it and got it fixed right away, frequently checking in and making sure we were comfortable. The location is quiet and peaceful, and the cabin itself is clean and well-maintained. Our only regret was that we were so busy visiting friends and family that we didn’t get to enjoy more time in the cabin itself!

This was our 2nd year of renting a cabin in the Shapleigh area, and it was, by far, the best experience. If you love knotty pine, you’ll love this place. The cabin, parking and access were all great. The owner was very informative and helpful. Thanks.

Relaxing and fun log cabin experience

My husband and I, along with our 17 yr old twins had a fabulous time in Bret's Maine log cabin. We had been a little worried that our teens might get bored, but no such problem. We enjoyed hanging out in the homey cabin, reading, playing games and having cookouts. We also loved the peaceful pine forest setting, hiking paths, kayaking and swimming off the dock. A pure dream vacation! Beautiful memories made that will last a life time!
