Appletrees sits to the front of a historic farm steading and is a single storey cottage which has been recently refurbished. (Bookable for FRIDAY ARRIVALS)The cottage is furnished to a high standard with oil central heating and hardwood floors throughout, it also has a large enclosed garden with stunning views to the Cheviot Hills, which is enclosed for children. Located 7 miles from Holy Island with its castle and priory and 9 miles to the walled town of Berwick upon tweed. The Famous Alnwick castle is only 25 miles away with its Harry Potter film connection and the Gardens with its Treehouse. Only 10 miles form the Scottish borders with access to Edinburgh only an 1 hours drive away. The nearest village is Lowick which is just under 2 miles away. The village has a grocery store, and two pubs with restaurants, The Black Bull Inn and the White Swan.

Appletrees is one of the best places we've stayed. It had everything we needed.It is family friendly and we all loved it. Karl and Emma are great hosts and made it a very relaxing stress free stay. The location was great, and we enjoyed the easy access to all the coastal attractions. Highly recommended!

An amazing property with amazing hosts! Property was really clean with fantastic views and made for an excellent base to explore the surrounding area. The hosts were always on hand if we needed them but we're not intrusive on our stay, got the balance spot on. We've stayed at a number of holiday cottages and this is probably the best we have stayed at!

Great Stay

We loved the cottage, it was spotlessly clean and the welcome pack was very appreciated. Karl and Emma were excellent hosts and we shall definitely stay there again.

We have rented numerous houses and Appletree is the best we have ever had. The cottage was very clean which is something very important to me. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. It was set in a lovely rural location with far reaching views over the surrounding countryside. The welcome pack was exceptional, with various bakery products, beer, wine, crisps and nibbles.The hosts were there to greet us and to see us off, which was a nice touch, but thy were not in the least intrusive during our stay. I would highly recommend Appletree

Fantastic property in a lovely rural location close to many amenities and tourist attractions. The accomodation was excellent for a family of four with a well equipped kitchen and plenty room to chill in. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Karl and Emma were fabulous hosts. The property was as described and the visual was even better. We found a welcome pack of quality items and drinks upon our arrival which was a thoughtful touch. We were also provided with sundries such as kitchen roll, foil, cling film and bin bags, which was also generous of our hosts. We felt really valued as guests and that Karl and Emma would go above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We highly recommend this property and our wonderful hosts.

Enjoyable stay at Appletrees

We all had a really enjoyable stay at Appletrees. The cottage was easy to find and very well located for exploring the area. The welcome hamper of food and drink was the best we've ever had and although the owners are on hand if you need anything, the cottage felt very private. We hope to visit again in the future.

Very impressive accommodation, immaculately prepared and great location as base for touring in the area. Nearby Black Bull inn excellent off-site food. Well stocked local shop.

Appletress is a beautiful cottage. It is spotless and well equipped with everything you would need plus lots of extra touches. Karl and Emma have thought of everything to make sure their guests have a great stay and are wonderful hosts. We had a lovely break, thank you both.

Peaceful and scenic

An excellent rental. Everything provided by friendly helpful owners. A lovely place to hang around with lovely quiet roads for cycling. A good base, not far from the coast with a village shop close by for essentials. Hope to visit again.

Northumberland break

Lovely cottage- well equipped, clean and comfortable. Fantastic welcome pack - best we have ever seen. Hosts are very welcoming and friendly. Location is great - not too far to travel to coast and surrounding towns. A lovely break restful and quiet.

Lovely stay fabulous accommodation

The house was immaculate and all fixtures and fittings were high quality. The welcome pack was excellent and very thoughtful.Karl was very helpful and went the extra mile to help us have a lovely stay. The cottage is centrally located to allow full exploration of Northumberland and easy train access to Edinburgh from Berwick. The local vicinity was also excellent for evening walks with lots of wildlife to spot.

The house was everything we had hoped for and even nicer than we had expected from the pictures. It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The garden was ideal for children to play in safely and the view was lovely. Karl and Emma were very friendly and accomodating, especially around our requirements for twin toddlers (even moving a bed so we had space for two travel cots and providing an extra high chair). The location was ideal, very peaceful but with lots to see and do in the area.

A Home Away From Home

We've just returned from our second wonderful stay at Appletrees, and it's safe to say it lived up to our expectations once again. The owners have put much thought into creating a welcoming and comfortable space. We particularly appreciated the little touches that made our stay extra special. If you're looking for a delightful holiday cottage in Northumberland, we wholeheartedly recommend Appletrees. It's the ideal place to unwind and recharge, and we can't wait to return for a third visit!

Amazing Cottage, beautiful views, well equipped. Just perfect!

This cottage is perfectly designed and in a stunning central location with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. It is beautifully furnished, warm and cosy with a very well equipped kitchen...all immaculately clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visited Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, Seahouses (trip to Farne Islands) and Edinburgh (1 hour away) as well as all the beaches for fantastic walks. Thank you so much Karl & Emma for making us so welcome and we will definitely be returning to stay with you again.xx

Great Stay

The property is definitely a 5 star. My family and I really enjoyed our trip to the area and the cottage really made it one to remember. Our 3 year old old was well catered for, there has clearly been a lot of thought and effort gone into making our stay as comfortable and hassle free as possible. I really cannot find fault. We would definitely return, if for the welcome pack alone! Thankyou

What a find, what a welcome - we had a fantastic stay at Apple trees. The place is in a great location, just outside Lowick which is well situated for the Northumbrian coast and the national park. It's a great size for a family of 4, with everything you need for a getaway to this fabulous part of the world. Very luxurious stay, There aren't many better equipped places out there. Karl is a fantastic host, checking to make sure we had all the info we needed and that all was well with the property. The welcome pack as has been mentioned in other reviews is by far the best we have ever seen and worth the booking alone. Huge thanks to Karl and Emma for letting us stay - we hope to return one day!
