The ground floor opens into a beautiful open-plan living space, with a birch plywood kitchen with stainless steel worktop, a skylighted dining area with a dining table and chairs for six, and a sitting room with a corner sofa, wall mounted Smart TV and a wide window seat looking out onto the private courtyard garden. It's a lovely room to come back to after a day on the beach - shoes off, something cold from the fridge, feet up on the sofa. Exposed douglas fir joists run overhead, polished concrete floors with underfloor heating underfoot, and everywhere there is light. Outside, the whitewashed courtyard garden is a real bonus with bamboo, bulkhead lights and a table and benches, it is sheltered and entirely private. The first bedroom is on the ground floor, a lovely and cosy double. Upstairs, the house reveals its Georgian origins with original stripped floorboards, sash windows and cast iron radiators. Two further bedrooms, one double and one with bunk beds are calm and quietly beautiful with soft blush walls, they are the kind of rooms where you actually sleep well. Step outside and Deal is on your doorstep, the beach a few minutes' walk, the pier stretching out over the Channel, and one of the best independent high streets in Kent right around the corner. Great coffee, excellent delis, brilliant pubs, a Saturday market and Walmer Castle's gardens all within easy reach. It's a town that rewards slow exploration, and this house is the perfect base for it.
