✨✨ Enchanting 2-bed flat - the best Hampstead location ✨✨

✨✨✨
Relax in this stunning calm tranquil stylish space in the heart of historic Hampstead Village. The charming Hampstead Heath lakes, swans, swimming ponds, tennis courts, film locations, quirky, idyllic restaurants, shops & cafes, splendid historical houses, museums, gardens, only minutes away
Yet the flat itself is hidden - a spellbound hideaway over a quiet moonlit garden lawn, where velvet dusk falls so silent you could believe the city had vanished into a whispering fairytale

This serene oasis of splendour is in the most desirable location, in the heart of delightful Hampstead village.

Although in the most central location, this soothing place is secluded, shielded from noise, above slumbering green gardens. At the back, there is a pleasant rose garden with discreet seating in spring. On return from the sweet exhaustion of sightseeing, you will step into this stillness of peace - and feel like you are the only person left in the world.

Visit the iconic boutique Hampstead cinema with sofas-for-two ("love seats"), instead of cinema chairs, where they serve food and drinks during screenings. It opened as the Everyman Theatre in 1920 and became one of London's quirky luxury cinemas in 1933.

Lovely restaurants, coffee houses, cake and tea rooms, shops, historical places, details unique to Hampstead, are listed further below. You will never be bored in Hampstead.

PRICING - HOW YOU SAVE ☀️

Most places charge one fixed rate based on the maximum number of guests they allow. We do not. We charge according to how many guests are actually staying. Our costs are lower when fewer people stay - so your rate is lower too.

Please read the 3 options below before booking - as the number of guests you book decides which beds and bedrooms will be made up for you. Our cleaners see your booking, and only prepare the beds you book.

(a) For 1-2 guests, this 2-bedroom apartment is priced like a 1-bedroom flat.
Only the double bedroom will be set up.
(1-2 people = 1 double bed)

(b) If you want the second bedroom set up too, book for 3 people.
(3 people = 1 double bed + 1 single bed)

(c) To have a third bed set up in the living room, book for 4 people.
(This is a proper single bed, not a pull-out sofa.)
(4 people = 1 double bed + 2 single beds)

Guests only pay for what they use - so please book for the number of guests that matches the beds you need. If you need both bedrooms (2 beds), please book for 3 people. If you need 3 beds (1 double and 2 single), please book for 4 people.

CHECKING-IN & CHECKING-OUT
Check-in: 5pm - 9pm
Check-out: by 10am

Why check-out is 10am: the flat has to be deep-cleaned for the guest arriving that evening, and that work cannot start until the previous guest has left.

Why check-in is 5pm: the flat is being deep-cleaned after the 10am check-out, and it is ready at around 5pm.

We do not simply do a quick tidying between guests - we deep-clean. Everything is stripped, hot-washed, dried, ironed, replaced - cleaned properly. That work runs from 10am to 5pm, and there is no way to shorten it without the flat being less than perfect when the next guest walks in.

Occasionally, these times can be altered. If nobody is checking out on the morning of arrival, an earlier check-in may be possible; if nobody is arriving on the day of departure, a later check-out may be possible. We cannot promise it, as it depends on the bookings either side - but enquiries are welcome, and we will accommodate whenever we can.

Thank you 🌿🌸

PLACES OF INTEREST 🌺

SITES - Northeast of Hampstead is London's largest ancient park, Hampstead Heath, with its well-known and legally-protected view of the London skyline from Parliament Hill. It has 3 open-air public swimming ponds (1 for men, 1 for women, 1 mixed), originally drinking water reservoirs and the sources of the River Fleet. The bridge is known as 'The Red Arches'/'The Viaduct', built in fruitless anticipation of residential building on the Heath in the 19th century. Local activities include open-air summer concerts on the slopes below Kenwood House, the FT Weekend Festival, book & poetry readings, fun fairs on the lower reaches of the Heath, period harpsichord recitals @ Fenton House, Hampstead Scientific Society and Hampstead Photographic Society. Many small businesses in the area have international significance. George Martin's AIR recording studios (converted church premises, Lyndhurst Road) are a current example, as Jim Henson's Creature Shop was before relocating to California. See the remarkable architecture, such as the Isokon building (Lawn Road), a Grade I listed experiment in collective housing, once home to Agatha Christie, Henry Moore, Ben Nicholson, Walter Gropius. Recently restored by Notting Hill Housing Trust.

FILM LOCATIONS - Hampstead Village lends itself to film. The opening scene in The Killing of Sister George (1968) with Beryl Reid & Susannah York shows Reid's character June wandering through Hampstead streets, alleyways, Heath Street and The Mount Square. The Marquis of Granby pub was actually The Holly Bush, at 22 Holly Mount. The kidnap scene in The Collector (1965), with Terence Stamp & Samantha Eggar, is set in Mount Vernon. Scenes from An American Werewolf in London (1981) are shot on Hampstead Heath, Well Walk and Haverstock Hill. Kenwood House is the setting for a scene in Notting Hill (1999). Some scenes in The Wedding Date (2005), with Debra Messing, show Parliament Hill Fields on the Heath, also shown in Notes on a Scandal (2006) with Gospel Oak and Camden Town. Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) shows the old Hampstead Town Hall on Haverstock Hill. Scenes of a Sexual Nature (2006) was filmed on Hampstead Heath, showing picturesque Floating Gardens and Kenwood House. The musical Les Bicyclettes de Belsize (1968) is about a young man's cycling around Hampstead and falling in love with the fashion model. The war film Allied (2016) with Brad Pitt & Marion Cotillard began on the corners of Christchurch Hill & Willow Road. The 2017 film "Hampstead" (Diane Keaton & ‎Brendan Gleeson) tells a true story about Harry Hallowes, who squatted on the site in 1987 after being evicted from his council flat in Highgate. Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

Hampstead is known for its intellectual, liberal, artistic, musical, and literary associations. It has some of the most expensive housing in the London area and more millionaires within its boundaries than any other area of the UK. It has long been known as a residence of the intelligentsia, writers, composers, ballerinas, intellectuals, actors, artists, architects – many of whom created a bohemian community in the late 19th century. After 1917, and again in the 1930s, it became base to a community of avant-garde artists and writers and host to a number of émigrés and exiles from the Russian Revolution and Nazi Europe. There are 60+ English Heritage blue plaques in Hampstead commemorating the many diverse personalities that have lived there.
The area has a significant tradition of educated liberal humanism, often referred to (often disparagingly) as "Hampstead Liberalism". In the 1960s, the figure of the Hampstead Liberal was notoriously satirised by Peter Simple of the Daily Telegraph in the character of Lady Dutt-Pauker, an immensely wealthy aristocratic socialist whose Hampstead mansion, Marxmount House, contained an original pair of Bukharin's false teeth on display alongside precious Ming vases, neo-constructivist art, and the complete writings of Stalin. Michael Idov of The New Yorker stated that the community "was the citadel of the moneyed liberal intelligentsia, posh but not stuffy." As applied to an individual, the term "Hampstead Liberal" is not synonymous with "champagne socialist" but carries some of the same connotations.
The term is also rather misleading. As of 2018, the component wards of Hampstead (Swiss Cottage, Frognal and Fitzjohns, Hampstead Town, Belsize) have mixed representation. Hampstead Town and Frognal and Fitzjohns wards elect 3 Conservative councillors, Swiss Cottage elects 3 Labour, Belsize 2 Liberal Democrat and 1 Conservative councillor.
