Girls weekend in Whitby

Ideal location close to Whitby centre. Free parking. Large house suitable for big group. We stayed at adventure house last year. We feel the cleaning standard has slipped. Hairs on bathroom floor, black mould around shower/bath. Horrible smell from drains especially in the utility room. Some kitchen utensils were dirty. I don’t usually comment but on this occasion there is room for improvement.

House party stay

Lovely big house with potential to be amazing. We were two families holidaying together for a special birthday. Whilst the house offered the space and facilities it is dated and in need of a deep clean. We found bathrooms with mould on silicone and grout, dust underneath beds, dust on furniture and fixtures, kitchen was greasy and we needed to wash pots and cutlery prior to use. Kettle is old and stained inside, kitchen bin lid missing, lights that didn’t work, baths that were dirty, pillows flat both in the bedroom and on sofas. The little things in the property need replacing and upgrading and a deep clean would have made this house a lovely place to stay and would have stayed again if this was addressed as location wise with the parking was excellent. This is our second visit to this property & it did not disappoint The whole house is excellent comfortable furnishings extremely well presented & a very well stocked kitchen of cutlery glasses plates pans etc with a nice welcome pack of basic necessities

Long weekend at the Adventure House

The house was spacious and comfortable offering ample room for 7 adults and 2 children. The children loved having their own space, especially first thing in the morning, when they headed for the playroom to watch tv. It was in a good location with the centre of Whitby being about a 15 minute walk away. The house itself is beautiful with great character and lovely features. It was great having so many bathrooms and the parking was fine.

A beautiful old property with parking.

A beautiful old property with parking. The kitchen was VERY well equipped. Nicely decorated for Christmas.

Points forts : Emplacement
House was a good size for a group of 10 having 5 good sized bedrooms, most with en suite. The kids loved the top floor. We didn't use the play room but it would be great if older kids wanted their own space. Kitchen was well equipped with pretty much everything you would need. Lounge and dining room room were also very functional. Parking for 4 cars is behind the house. Any more than that may be awkward as it's a busy area. Location was great and within easy walking distance to the town and beach. There were a few maintenance things outstanding and had previously been mentioned by previous visitors. We thought the kitchen equipment could have been cleaner but that was a small thing and didn't spoil our overall experience.

Lovely property in a great location. Very warm and comfortable.

Property was spacious, comfortable and warm. Location was ideal, with local attractions, shops, restaurants and great walks very close by. Kitchen was well equipped. Second sitting room was great for teenagers. WIFI excellent. Some minor maintenance needed, e.g. dishwasher rack, smell in one bathroom, and refreshing of the chipped/mis-matched crockery and glasses. Providing tea towels in the kitchen and an extra bin bag or two would be helpful.

Big '60' Celebration

Great house, great location

Great location. House was ideal and contributed to having a great holiday. Rooms were a great size and although we didn’t cook kitchen was well equipped. Beds were wonderful. There was a crab bucket and old bait left in the cupboard off the dining room which meant that room was completely unusable until we found the said item and aired the room.

Lovely house, perfect for our family of 10 to celebrate an 80th birthday.

House was clean and cosy but also very spacious - didn't feel like there was 10 people there. Good location although a bit of a slippy experience getting down to the town with the icy conditions but just added to the fun. Would definitely stay again.
