Its majestic hill-top mediaeval church not only has stunning architecture, but it has also served as a film location for The Da Vinci Code and Young Victoria's crowning scenes. Climb the tower and walk the walls of Lincoln Castle for views of the city. The open-air theatre, pop and rock concerts, and re-enactment weekends in the castle grounds are all available during the summer months. Lincoln's Magna Carta is also kept at the castle. Lincoln boasts excellent shopping, including the famed Christmas Market in early December, with quaint and quirky little shops in the cathedral neighbourhood.
