Small well equipped cottage, perfectly located for exploring Deal

The cottage is very homely, with a good sized bathroom and bedroom. Parking wasn't an issue as plenty of car parks nearby. Perfectly located for exploring the town and seafront.

Cosy tiny house

Location is perfect; just a few minutes from sea front, shops, railway and bus stations. Cottage is small, but adequate for 2 (dining from trays on the sofa). Kitchen well equipped.

Quirky little cottage in a great location

My second stay at Cow and Cockle. It's in a great location - a few minutes walk to the seafront, station and all the amenities Deal has to offer. Keepers Cottages have always been very efficient in the arrangements.

Excellent stay

The cottage exceeded our expectations. It was compact but perfectly formed! We went to some fabulous restaurants within walking distance of the cottage, and really enjoyed Deal and the surrounding area.

Perfect for a short getaway

The cottage was excellent, offering all that we needed.* Central location *Easy access *Very comfortable *Excellent decor *All fixtures and fittings of a quality standard. *Very comfortable bed . (Only thing we missed were some smaller coffee cups and a scoop for measuring coffee for the cafetaire) We would certainly stay here again should we be in Deal.

Perfect location for walks on the beach, fabulous restaurants and independent shops / galleries

Small but perfectly formed cottage, that was immaculately clean with everything you need for a short break. Comfy bed, great hot shower and a well stocked kitchen with all the essentials if you want to cook for yourself. Located in the conservation area it's a 2 min walk to local shops, cafes, restaurants and 5 mins walk to the beach front / pier. As a newbie to Kent, the completely flat landscape was a novelty when you're used to North East coves and cliff top walks, but it means a nice easy 7 mile return stroll along the beachfront to the Zetland Arms in Kingstown is a must. We had excellent food at the Deal Pier Kitchen (10 min walk), 81 Beach Street (5 mins), Deal Hoy pub (2 mins). It was also well located for day trips to Canterbury (40 min drive, touristy but nice for a stroll), Ramsgate (not really anything I could recommend to be honest) and Leeds Castle (1 hour drive). Note: There are parking restrictions outside the cottage but we didn't encounter any issues finding a space. You can park for free from 3.30pm - 10.30am outside the cottage and in the surrounding streets. We stayed for a week and paid to park at Sainsbury's for 2 days when we weren't using the car (via JustPark app), 5 min walk along the same street. In summary, can highly recommend if you want a small place to call home for the week just relaxing, with good food and wine on the doorstep.

Always happy to come back

Always happy to come back. This is already our third stay here. Everything you need is provided. We even discovered the second bar stool for the kitchen this time, which we had always wished for.

Sweet Cottage

Sweet cottage for two .. three would be a bit of a squash… cosy , great location, everything you need is there .. very narrow steep stairs with a rope handle so not for everyone but loved our stay .. would come again !

Positively lives up to it's description

I had a lovely stay at the cottage. It was warm, cozy and perfectly situated in town to get everywhere easily and to the necessities like supermarkets, car parks, etc.

Second stay

We had such a great time for the second time. It’s a really lovely cottage, spotlessly clean and in a perfect location. It’s so peaceful but minutes from the shops and pubs. It’s a little on the expensive side which stops us staying for longer, but it is really lovely.

Pefect for a short stay

The Cow and Cockle is quirky and bijou as stated. We stayed for a week and to be honest it was a bit too small for us having been used to a larger property hence the title of my review. The house is well equipped with everything that we expected and I enjoyed sitting in the courtyard garden except when the pub down the road had a karaoke evening! The location of this proprty is ideal for exploring all of the delights of Deal and handy for shopping. You are literally just round hte corner from the Saturday market and high st. The bed was comfy, great towels. We had a few issues with the fridge and then the electricity going off on the last morning, which were dealt with efficiently by Keepers Cottages. Be aware if you have mobility issues, then this place is not for you as the stairs are steep and narrow - this is pretty obvious from the description, but in case you misssed it.

Easter weekend in Deal

The property was great. Small but v cosy with a lovely wood burning stove. The Saturday market a few steps away was great and the usual attractions in Deal: cafe’s, shops, restaurants & pubs.

Cozy

This is a great little cottage, has all the amenities and is a five minute walk from the town centre and sea front. There's lots of places to eat and drink in Deal and there's great walking along the coast.

Cosy cottage in the heart of Deal

Our second stay at Cow and Cockle. This lovely cottage for two, is ideally situated in the centre of Deal. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped and we would happily stay there again. Please note however: the stairs are quite steep.

Fantastic location. Lovely little cottage.

We loved staying here. Tiny cottage but everything you need. In a great position for the seafront and local shops, bars, cafes. The stairs are extremely steep so not recommended for anyone who might find that tricky but no other issues. Good communication with the management team and just as the listing promised.

Cosy cottage

We enjoyed our second stay at this cosy cottage, which is well located for the town and seafront only a short walk away. The cottage had everything we needed and the welcome gift was much appreciated. We had one issue with the heated towel rail which was promptly dealt with by the friendly owner. We look forward to staying here again.

A lovely, small, cozy cottage

A lovely, small, cozy cottage, right near the center of Deal. It has everything one could wish for: a fully equipped kitchen, a charming little backyard with seating area, and comfortable beds. Perfect for a couple. We've been booking with Keepers Cottage since 2016 and once again were very satisfied with the service. Everything was very clean, and check-in and check-out were easy.
