Warm-hearted stay and a beautiful garden

What a lovely cottage and annexed garden with a view of the sun downing amidst cornfields. Arranged and furnished with a sense of detail and loving memorables of the royal family. We really enjoyed our stay with a family of 5 and spent lots of time in the garden and small towns nearby. The coast and sandy beaches aren’t far either. If you are above 6ft, watch for your head as the door-frames are low!

Fantastic cottage near the coast in Kent

We had a wonderful family break at Sonnet Cottage. It's a lovely, quiet location, surrounded by countryside and lovely views. The cottage is furnished with stylish antiques and lots of Emma Bridgewater, which gives it a really homely feel. The hosts have left out plenty of books and board games plus a helpful dossier of things to do nearby. We particularly enjoyed a boat trip on a rib from Ramsgate to see seals and other wildlife, a wander along the sea front at Deal and a ghost tour in Canterbury. Some lovely walks and runs from the front door too. The only thing to note is location of bathrooms - one is en-suite to a downstairs bedroom and one is upstairs at one end of the house which means a bit of a trek if you want to avoid walking through another person's bedroom. But this was a minor thing and did not spoil our stay. The bathrooms themselves were excellent and showers were great. The downstairs layout was perfect for a large family, plenty of chairs to lounge around in and a big dining table we could all sit round. We would happily book this cottage again.

Lovely cottage

We enjoyed our stay there so much. The cottage ist beautiful, clean and we missed nothing. And the garden with its view is terrific.

Lovely countryside break

We had a lovely stay at historic, charming, spacious Sonnet Cottage (for 4 of us) in July, in safe, peaceful surroundings. Far better equipped than we thought it would be, with some basic comestibles that we weren’t expecting such as tea, coffee, rice, sugar. Delightfully quiet & rural, yet conveniently near Sandwich. Spacious garden and lots of games to keep kids happy. The local Co-op is excellent. Well stocked & with helpful staff. Kirsty at Keepers Cottages was responsive & helpful when we needed advice. Some people might be disappointed there is officially no starter pack of food, particularly milk & perhaps something for the first breakfast. Also, fans in the bedrooms would have been a nice addition during the high temperatures we had during the week. Overall though, we had a brilliant stay. Thank you!

peaceful haven

A wonderful place to stay for peace and quiet, and just switching off for a few days with family. Stand in front of the cottage, facing the fields ahead of you, and just listen to the soothing silence, a real change from our city life. Well-positioned for access to plenty of nice beaches, best of which was Ramsgate, less than 30 mins drive.

Quaint cottage, stunning location

A beautiful spot in the the Kent country. A pretty and quaint cottage with atunning views in every direction. Great base for seeing all the Kent favourites from. The room layout and bedroom setup is unusual and not described at all well, and when I queried the room layout I was given the wrong information. It was all workable, but I feel that a much more accurate description would make a big difference and take away lots of confusion.

Thanks for the memories

We travelled to Sandwich to visit with my dad's family we haven't seen in years. The cottage was big enough to hold us all. The garden was lovely and big for the kids to play and you can watch the sunset through the trees in the back garden. I'd say the house, being so old, was charming but definitely not designed for anyone over 5'7" as there were many bumped heads on doorways during our stay. We tried to duck as much as possible but sometimes we forgot. The road leading into the property was very tight, we had larger vehicles with us and it was a little scary taking them along on that first day but once you're there it is well worth it. We had an incident whilst there, one of the bathroom taps broke, I contacted customer services and a plumber was on site the next day to replace it. Really quick and efficient. Thanks Sonnet Cottage for the memories.

Really enjoyed the stay at Sonnet cottage. Beautiful house with great decor and lovely furniture. Stunning garden. Well appointed kitchen with everything you’re likely to need. Comfy beds and nice quality sheets/ duvets etc. managed to stay pretty cool on a verte hot weekend. Very quiet- no traffic or noise at all. Close to Sandwich and Deal. Recommended.

Hervorragend!

Wir hatten genau einen solchen Ort gesucht. Eine wunderschöne Umgebung mit viel Ruhe und trotzdem großartigen Optionen. Für alle war etwas dabei! Ob für Kinder oder Erwachsene bietet die Landschaft in Umgebung dieses wunderschönen Cottage die passende Atmosphäre. Zudem hatten wir reichlich Glück mit dem Wetter.
