Detached stone farmhouse in a simply beautiful setting. Large, completely enclosed garden with private saltwater pool (10m x 5m) and far-reaching views over vineyards and forests. South facing terrace, ample garden furniture and a stone-built BBQ, for outdoor entertaining. Mature trees offer shade in the height of summer. The house is comfortable, light and airy, decorated and furnished in rural French style. Free wireless broadband throughout the house.

The village of St Quentin de Caplong is a lovely quiet village and boasts a fabulous community shop open 7 days a week selling fresh bread and pastries, gorgeous locally grown fruit and vegetables and local wines. Wonderful walks and cycle routes are on the doorstep, and it is only a short distance to the beautiful Dordogne river (15 mins), with many riverside restaurants, beaches and picnic spots.

The historic bastide towns of St Foy La Grande (15 mins), Duras (20 mins), Bergerac (40 mins drive), and Eymet (40 mins) offer weekly markets, restaurants, bars and shopping. This is a major wine producing area, with many opportunities to taste and purchase Bordeaux and Bergerac wines direct from the vineyards. The magnificent medieval city of Saint-Émilion, and its world renowned wines, is just 40 mins away. For the more adventurous there are a wide range of activities close by including horse riding, golf, cycling, walking and river-based water sports.

All the major supermarkets are located in St Foy La Grande but there are smaller supermarkets in Duras and Gensac (10 mins). The sophisticated city of Bordeaux, with the longest shopping street in Europe, is just over an hour’s drive away.

The nearest airports are Bergerac (40 mins) and Bordeaux (80 mins).

Lovely holiday home

Fantastic little place in the middle of the vineyards. Truly enjoyed the home, BBQ and pool. Communcation went smooth and the place is in a great condition. It more then met our expectations and we would recommend it 👍

Lovely holiday

Lovely house and nice quiet location. House had everything we needed. Our small children loved the pool and the garden. Supermarkets and local shops were only a short drive away. We hope to return.

A beautiful property in a stunning region. We count ourselves extremely lucky to have found this farmhouse, with just 8 weeks from booking to arrival. The beds are wonderfully comfortable, and the outdoor areas are simply lovely with breathtaking views of the vineyards. We wanted a week to relax and unwind — we achieved this and more. We haven’t known a place so quiet and idyllic.During our stay, the robot pool cleaner broke down, but it was swiftly collected, repaired, and returned. This didn’t affect our stay at all, but it was a great example of how quickly and efficiently any issues are resolved.We truly count ourselves fortunate to have discovered this gem and look forward to returning.

I want to keep it a secret

This place is idyllic! Have just got back from the most relaxing week in this fab place! The accommodation is great, with a real french farmhouse feel, super clean and everything you could need. But where this place is a real gem is the outside space, always able to find a cool space in the shade or the sun if you’re a sun worshipper! Plenty of space to eat alfresco and the pool was great! Fulfilled my dream of morning coffee over looking the vineyards! I’m sure I’ll visit again .. it’s so good I almost didn’t write this so I could keep it a secret! Thank you for sharing your fabulous house with us!

Fantastic property!

Les Hirondelles is a beautiful property, the photos don't do it justice at all. The rooms are large and well furnished, everything is lovely and clean. The house has been equipped with everything to make your stay comfortable, from fans in the bedrooms, books to read, Bluetooth speaker, even plug in mosquito repellant for the night. Good quality bed linen and towels, makes such a difference. The location is very rural, but we enjoyed that as an escape from the world. Of course the pool is the big draw. Fabulous open views, great sized pool, loungers and a parasol. Life doesn't get any better than relaxing by the pool, watching the birds of prey flying above. Thank you for a brilliant holiday.

We live in England but have always loved holidaying in France with our two sons, and over many years have explored a number of regions. We kept coming back to this part of the La Gironde/Dordogne, because of its tranquil and beautiful countryside, so decided to buy our own holiday home here.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

St Quentin de Caplong is a lovely quiet village in the midst of rolling vine covered hills. It is such a relaxing place to spend time, in a tranquil rural setting amid fields and vineyards and yet only a short distance from the beautiful Dordogne river, and some fascinating historic towns and villages. It is a 10 minute walk to the local shop which sells fresh bread and pastries, gorgeous locally grown fruit and vegetables and local wines.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

This house offers the opportunity to ‘get away from it all’ by enjoying the large garden, with plenty of room for outdoor games, swimming in the private pool, or just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine for which this region is well-known. There are extensive views of the lovely countryside to the east, south and west where the sunsets are stunning. If you enjoy stargazing, there is very little light pollution. People say they have never seen a sky like it.
